Why is it that when you go to a deadspace area, MWDs don't work, yet MWDs work just fine in warp bubbles and interdiction spheres?
I'm confused.

Yes, indeed you are. Confused real life with a game.
Its to do with balance. MWDs in deadspaces would make them too easy.

There's a reason why it is called deadspace. --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

I don't give a damn about them working in deadspace, I just don't see why they work in bubbles and spheres specifically made to prevent warping.

It's simple really, Microwarpdrive != warping, its just a name.
In any case, a bubble shouldnt prevent you using a MWD since they are pretty much the only way to escape a bubble camp. -----

Deadspace is very different from warp disruption bubbles.
Deadspace stops you warping in (or rather means all warps go to the same place), bubbles stop you warping out.
Microwarp is not able to function in deadspace, but it does work in bubbles.
That's just the way the eve universe works...

It has nothing to do with balance. It's just a decision by the devs made when they figured you'd be able to circumvent certain parts of complexes. That is, take the long, but easy route. As it turned out, complexes became linear, and gates locked to force you to kill nearly everything on a level to advance.
All the no-MWD rule does is make complexes easier, really. Easier not getting killed by real players. - EVE is sick. |

Nah, that ain't a problem.
What's been buggin' me (from a RP perspective... I have no problems about it, I'd just like someone to make up a good RP story for this) is how can enemy NPCs and drones use MWD's in deadspace complex / missions, and we can't. I mean, seriously, if they found a way, surely the pod pilots should have found a way too, no? ------- Daar

Weirda have not seen, but one of the thing in Revelations was that they no longer can use MWD. Anyone confirm? __ Weirda Join QotSA |

That's easy: NPCs always cheat. They would really be boring if they didn't. I know the ECM nerf didn't apply to them, they can nearly permajam you easily enough.

Well, yeah their infinite cap is... weird. Still, MWD is kinda obvious. And I DEFINITELY say that drones can MWD anywhere. ------- Daar

Yup, NPCs got all their MWDs replaced with ABs instead. Drones can still MWD however.

Meh, they somehow seem to have "special" module versions instead, and limited, non-replenishable capacitor. The more of that cap you drain/neut (of course, when it reaches zero, there it stays), the less effective their "special" modules become (jam, repair, etc) mostly through reduced usage frequency.

Well, other than the MWD->AB change, NPCs are stuck with their stats since a couple of years ago... while pod pilot ships kept getting improvements in sheer hitpoints, damage and tanking capabilities. So, meh, they might cheat, but they cheat to lose not to win. _ My skills | Mod/Rig stacknerfing explained |
