Cheers to Tyrrax for fielding the ship.
If you ask me the tournament is the best stage if it was to be lost then in some random gank or something on tranq or death by sitting forever in a hangar.
With that aside being minmatar I can't help but cheer for every amarr ship that is removed from game.... a rare one is more special.

Seems to me that everytime an IMPOC goes down.. theres a great story behind it.
Good job to CoW for making a lasting memory, and good job to IAC and Tyraxx for fielding it. Next time ya might want to switch set-ups and tactics.

Wasn't the first one just ganked in a fleet fight a few weeks after the tournament?

Originally by: Dracolich I have been wanting it to die since it was fielded first time, but now I just feel sad.... Given the time that was remaining, I am somehow a bit amazed that CoW didnt wait a while to see what amount of isk they could get, since a) they asked for a ransom. b) Its an epic ship.
I can understand if they just wanted it to blow up, no probs with that, but trying to ransom it, and then... not really...hmm... nonetheless, good job, CoW, You have really amazed me today.
We did ask for 15 bill but we didnt seriously expect them to have it in cash on the spot. They did offer us 2.5 bill but that was too small an amount for us to deprive the viewers from eve history. As has been noted by many this was as much our effort as it was Tyrax's for bringing it so we had a sense of responsability which meant we had to blow it up (or are alts had to blow it up anyway )
Despite the grudge match with Tyrax over throwing the match last time that cause Trust to go out (and this years' CoW team was 3/4s last times Trust team) we didnt view this as revenge (well afer the first hoorays) but as something much nicer. We now have something much grander linking us with Tyrrax than match fixing and accusations and this is as it should be.
Respect. Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

Aaaaah One of the craziest episodes of my life.
Having fought IAC in the last tourney and had them as my nemesis for the last 6 months, you'll forgive me for being rather happy about the outcome.
But..I have to say I gotta respect you for the way you give this tourney your all.
We've clobbered each others progress one a piece now & BoB have stomped through to win AGAIN. What's say we join forces next time .. combined, we might have enough to do it.

This pretty much sums it up for me, thank you for adding more things into perspective. However, I thought I heard 9 bil being offered just before it went pop, but I guess as you somewhat incinuate... You just wanted it to go down... And you succeeded, which was an amazing feat. Not just that you did it, but the way you did.

I only watched local during the match but the only offer after their 2.5b was Crellion lowering our ransom demand to 14.9b

The ultimate coolness would be to ransom it for 1 ISK.
Mad props to IAC and Tyrrax for fielding a Beast like the Impoc. Sad to see it die tbh.

Edited by: Astarte Nosferatu on 11/12/2006 10:38:14 The Impoc wasn't worth 15bil, if Tyrrax had sold it the day of the fight, he would have netted at least 60-70bil. Now that there's only one left, price will double or even triple in the following months. Perhaps there was a deal between Istvaan and Tyrrax to get his Impoc blow up on EvETV (probably reaches most of the community) in return for isk or another unique item . In any case, if it had to go down somewhere, what better place than the Tournament on EvETV?
Edit: Don't forget about the billions of isk in faction/T2 modules that were fitted as well. If I had to put a number on the value of the ship that was lost, I'd say somewhere about 75bil.

Trigger never had an impoc, unless blackviper gave him his at some point.
The original MASS team (for Kor-Azor, MASS had more than one team in that tourney) in the amarr championship was:
Ecliptical (captain) Kileak BlackViper Me. I had to pull out cause of RL and Grikl was drifted in. Which prolly was a good thing as the rules were later changed and made Grikl's skillpoints of very good use, much better than mine.
Where do you think Tyrrax' impoc etc came from? They've been sold... Am I forced to have any regret? I've become the lie, beautiful and free In my righteous own mind I adore and preach the insanity you gave to me |

whats the point of it dusting away in a damn hangar for the rest of its life....
atealst the ship was flow and so what it was lost... all the ppl who watched the fight saw it fight and how it was lost :)
Because there was no point to its death. It dying didn't make CoW go to the next round; they'd already accomplished that. It dying didn't produce a metric crapload of loot worth more than the 2.5b that Raem had on hand to try to pay the ransom. The very least they could have done was demand Raem eject--that'd be worth FAR more than 15b, it'd make them WAY more famous than a killmail, and, ffs, they'd have an Impapoc.
FWIW, in the previous fight, AXE had agreed amongst ourselves to take it to structure and stop. I'm still a little bitter that IAC killed our CNR even though they didn't have to, but that might have been a heat of the moment thing. Facing IAC, you knew for days ahead of time you might face the Impapoc, and any competent team should have had a plan in place. Keep in mind that it's worth more than the second place prizes, easily, and is bumping up on the first-place prizes, so blowing it up is a stupid financial decision, on top of everything else.

If the tables had been turned, CoW in the impoc and us with the upper hand... I would've voted for gank.
Anyway, about your CNR... I suggested we'd spare it and some of the guys agreed, but then NTR died and we saw red. ----
