Edited by: Kamazani on 05/12/2006 13:41:11 amazing.. the blood thirst of pirates is not only insatiable it's downright pathetic. you guys actually get your jolly's off on grieving people for your own personal enjoyment(what's that word i'm looking for? ohhh yeah, sociopaths.) The reason for all these changes was necessary, the pirating career has been rampant and needed to be controlled somehow. it just got a little harder for you kids.
yesterday i was in my rifter doing a courier mission, one of the waypoints was to head into illumar (near the atlar gate) and when as I approach there's 5 flashing reds on my screen and 3 yellows. just as I left the system, their BC cyclone jumps as well and waits for me to come back, the moment i arrived to the gate he jumps before I do, so i just start warping to planets all over illumar for about 30 mins. Just as i was going to check the gate to see if it's clear, i see a couple more reds flashing and the BC. I guess I upset them, since i didn't jump when the BC did. so i wait another 15 minutes then jump back into atlar. wow, the gate is clear and no PITA-rates gate campers waiting. I had to laugh when I didnt' see any pod kills in the last hour on the map. All those pirate campers like 8 or 9 of them in one place to kill players passing by and they didnt' succeed once.... pathetic. Generalization is something thats a part of human nature. It makes us "understand" things. Abovementioned is a perfect example of onesidedness and shows our human incompetence of some truly reflective capabilities and forming an objective opinion without prejudice.
Saying things like "the blood thirst of pirates is ..." and "you guys actually ..." followed by a rather bold statement is an unscroupulous generalization of a rather diverse bunch of players that consider themselves, or are considered by others, as pirates. These stated generalizations might help you "understand" your EVE-world game experience a bit more, mr. Kamazani, but please try to consider that its nothing more then that ... your understanding, not a written truth.
But ofcourse, thats just my generalized opinion.

yes perhaps your right - i admittedly (and possibly stupidly) have no fear i happilly rat in 1.0 - 0.1 (im not stupid enough to venture into 0.0 in my cara) im currently docked in a 0.2 system and will continue ratting when i get in tonight once my cargo is full i return home one jump at a time with my friend "warp to 0" but even as someone who rats has noticed how quiet some systems (some with many many roid fields) are completely empty now - although this is good for my nerves it is surely bad for those living in lowsec without a carebear alt

Or you can sit in low sec and never accomplish anything worthwhile. You will never: see epic battles, make a plot in history, build an outpost, etc.. by sitting in low sec all day killing people who don't want to fight. Working in a group to accomplish a goal is not conforming and being a little sheep. I suppose if you let people in an alliance step on you then I can see how you could say that, but not everyone is a wuss that will not stand up for themselves when pushed.
Originally by: Sorted By the sounds of it PVP in 0.0 is quiet,
I think I'll stick to our Empire Wars - chased down and opened up a T2 fitted Tempest with the lads last night, big buzz from the kill after the build up during the chase - LOVE IT.
If its too quiet out there why not try low sec belts, or catching mission runners. Or join a corp with plenty of Empire War Targets
Erm, I have no idea how at this point in time you can claim 0.0 as being "quite". The South is a a mess of PvP going on everywhere at the moment. Sure, up North everyone is hi-fiving and smacking each other on the butts, but why not go up North and exploit the fact that they aren't all stirred up in massive wars? 0.0 is full of fat carebears that come out when the war drums go silent.

So your advice is sitting in 0.0 all day killing people who don't want to fight then?

I didn't intend for it to sound like it was going to be that easy, did I? If you go up North then it would be foolish to not expect people there to fight back.

Edited by: TheoryLuke on 06/12/2006 19:53:17 Can really see who the carebares are, hey? They just don't understand how difficult CCP have made it to pirate, before KALI I could find multipul targets per day to kill fairly. Now, you warp into a system everyone show's info (unless your set to - if so they instantly know) and instantly aligns, they see you appear on overview warp to 0 to a gate or station and are instantly completly safe. So now I'm forced to camp a gate and kill everything that comes thru or just watch my skills train. So tbh, all you carebares that have never had any experiance of pirating will not know how difficult it is now, so stop with all the "cry me a river" crap. Seriously its kind of annoying now

Edited by: Grim Starwind on 06/12/2006 19:51:59 Okay, I agree here... low sec is dead as I've stated in a previous post. As for 0.0 pvp... whaaaatever. Everytime I've been in an alliance, or travelled into 0.0 with a few friends all we've ever came across was 20man blobs all sitting in t2 cruisers, bs's command ships.. waiting to POP anything that moves in 2 seconds. Pirates don't have the numbers to fight 20+man blobs. Which is why we sit in low sec, to get more even numbered fighting. (yes, I'm well aware some pirates sit 10 on a gate and pop frigates. but not me)
We used to sit in 0.0 but got fed up of not being able to do anything.. not even rat to drop sec status to go play in empire like a good boy.. because alliances would send 30miners to come shoot one pirate.
And when I was in 0.0 pvp consisted of.... a 10man gang, then a 20man.. 30man... increasing. "Okay we now have 50more players than our intended target! LET'S ROLL MEN!! Oh wait... hmm it's taken us more than 2 hours to get ready.. everyones in bed now. Damn, maybe next time guys!!" - Alliance pvp - Blobs and lag. long range snipers. funnn

carebears tell pirates to go to 0.0, but the 0.0 attitude is inherently different from the low sec attitude of pvping. Pirates are more solo/small gang players (1-10), while the typical 0.0 gang is 50-200.
The typical 0.0 gang tends to only fight a gang they outnumber horribly, while the low sec gang WILL engage an equal numbered target/stronger target.
Some of us pirates don't like to run around in 100+ gangs, looking for a smaller gang, and wont fight a gang with equal numbers.
Hope that helps for understanding.

0.0 for me does not sound like pirating, to me its just gang warfare and blob combat, no penalty's, no drawbacks, with the safe option to just gate through to a safe system with sentry guns. Low sec pirating is risky business, and with fewer customers likely to not notice the biggest tool they have (local) it means we are left twiddling our thumbs doing not a great deal these days.
Laughable when people say use your scanner and hunt these people down, dont need a scanner if i want to find them, ill just dock like them and there they are.
What id like to see is some nerfs to the non pirates for a change, god knows we have taken a massive direct kick in the teeth for our profession, about time others did as well, the stab nerf imho wasnt really a big thing tbh.
If like many say low sec pirating was that easy and profitable, everyone would be doing it, and from where im sitting, it looks pretty empty, just the odd space tumbleweed rolling on past.
Stay funky ppl.

To the OP: Try moving around a bit. People dock/SS/POS it up when there are skerry pirates in system if they're looking at local and don't want a fight. You have to keep moving and catch people off their guard. Use the map to find pilots in space -- it's not terribly reliable but it gives you a hint of good hunting grounds.
And yes. There are not enough people in lowsec. Stop over-hunting the waters.

Hehe HAAHAHAHA HAHAHA ok ok dont get me laughing to hard there!
It is so funny how you can whine all day! So targets are harder to grief buhuu to pirates. Its just gotten as hard for us pirate hunters to get you and we dont go crying about it.
You whine about miners and ratters station docking asap when you enter the system, you dont see me whine when you do the same to me and my frinds when we come after you. Its a part of the game folks.
I have read so meny times that pirates wont come out whan there is a lot af anti pirates about because pirates are not stupid they are clever etc. But when a miner dock he is ... a stupid carebear that wont die for your sake ... no he is damn clever and just got ahead of you.
Get real mate aparently you are not smart enough to be a pirate if you cant get a fight ... end.
