Exploration complexes are a joke atm. 0.0 is littered with Unknowns because nobody bothers to do them. You spend hours and very likely lose ships for what? A slim chance of getting an expedition to do it all over again? Just for another slim chance at doing it yet again? All for the even slimmer chance that you make it to the end and find some kind of reward for your troubles?
A far better system, IMO, would guarantee an expedition with a guaranteed reward equal to the difficulty of the complex. The random component in this is the expedition room. Each complex could have a half dozen different expeditions with its own rewards and npc's. You don't know which one you'll get, but you'll know by the end you'll certainly get something worth your trouble. Be it an extra rich hacking site, several faction spawns, an officer or two, an npc mineral base with lots of haulers or whatever.
Some of these complexes are hard, harder than the static 10/10 plexes, and they take much more time to complete. That there's a big chance you'll get absolutely nothing but bounties from them is a slap in the face.

OK SERIOUSLY! WTF CCP??? I MEAN, COME ON! "The Sansha Minefield" is rediculously, I mean REDICULOUSLY hard! I lasted all of 15-20 seconds in my rigged out Dominix.
Thirty battlehships, ARE YOU SERIOUS? Truly, I am a bit ****ed that I went down as quick as I did and had no hopes of escape, and I truly believe that to complete the first stage of that complex would take a fleet of ships all with heavy tanks, gang mods, and transfer mods. How exactly are we expected to complete such a complex without capitals? I'm truly frustrated about my recent meltdown. (I had a great love for that Domi!)
For those who have not had the opportunity to peek inside here's some screenies:
Come on!!! 1 Come on!!! 2 Come on!!! 3
Anything fleet with less than capital ships would take heavy losses and the size of the NPC fleet with their bounties just doesn't look like it's worth it at all. I realize I have not had the opportunity to run the plex OBVIOUSLY due to me being ill prepared and ignorant to what lied on the other side. I do however believe that the opposition on that plex was a bit overkill...
That's my feedback. Anyone else have any thoughts on this particular plex?

We completed another npc version of this plex once. I think it's the harder one out there. We used 3 BS and a HAC, and it was piece of cake (remote repair, repair drones and 2-3 hours to spare). We also got an escalation from it. Which lead to a bugged escalation, figures(at that moment we had 6 BS and few cruisers to deal with second step).
About your loss, remember 0.0 plexes should not be easy (even If you ran through some). So it's recommened to check it first with a cov op or a shuttle. If you find this plex again, bring some friends.

It's clear that you were able to look around peacefully and take 3 screenshots and THEN you decided to take on 30 battleships alone. Very brave. Or maybe stupid.

It's getting hard to find any ArcSal/Hacking sites in Empire.
Also, it's no fun having a gang bust in on your find to lock you and try steal your stuff, and get the escalation... (esp. when it takes several minutes to pew pew the structure that triggers it)

Oh you're a smart one. Maybe you missed my wreck. I know it's pretty small in the screenshot. This was feedback for the devs and info for the community. You should appreciate the information, not try to inaccurately criticise the timeline.
I'm sure you now know what to expect if you scan down one of these plexes don't you? And from my post you should be well prepared in advance. You're obviously very bright and cunning and could probably solo it, but I thought I'd share the info just in case you might need it and for the devs to give consideration to tweaking it a little.
I'm not sure, but somehow I think if I had known I was going to my own BBQ I would not have taken my fully rigged Domi, or any ship for that matter to the party. I certainly know now, and "knowing is half the battle." I also know that I'll be taking in a disposable ship next time I scan a plex down. That's a good piece of advice I think we all can take out of this for sure!

Thanks for the info, that's good to know! It was stupid of me to go in cold and not know what to expect. Somehow I think I assumed I was running one of my Level 4's from my empire days. I certainly know for next time and now that I know that it's possible to do with a decent gang I think I'll look into it again. I just don't see the rewards as worth it. Is there some special loot or something you get from running it? Cause 1.2M bounty per BS doesn't quite seem like it's worth the effort.

i know this is supposed to be about 0.0...
but i've been spending ~3h in (mostly) low sec with my 204sek launcher just multispec'ing - no wasted time anywhere:
today: 1 gravi 2 gravi+unkown 2 unkown
for ~40 systems
negative record, sure, but it's not been much better the last two weeks of daily probing tours: found about 8 radar sites total - all in high sec: maybe 20mil in them, each. found and made 15 unknowns of which none escalted or had anything at the following waypoint. a couple of arc/sal - content not worth mentioning
lost a gistii/domi-fitted wolf in "Angel Vigil"... in 0.8 (!) (tanking vaga + 2BC had their hands full getting the remains out)...
so... maybe 50h spent, about +/- 0isk, repeatedly looking at unsuccessful scans (triangulation IV)...
/quit empire exploration
1.1 mil SP wasted on these skills...

Totally agree, empire exploration is cr*p.
Spent ages training up me skills, was really looking forward to this addition to the game and of all the systems Ive scanned in empire (sec ratings 0.3 - 0.8) all I've been lucky enough to find rat wise is a few frigs and a few cruisers at each complex I've found. The only hacking containers I found had 1 or 2 rig components in them bugger all in the way of rare roids either. Probably scanned full systems about 30 times since learning the skills and got jack sh*t for it.
Only ever had one esculating path which popped up a message after taking out a building, it gave me the system which I couldn't wait to enter into my search bar on my map and then low and behold it was 25 fr*ggin jumps away with an hour to make it (may have been 50 minutes can't remember now), with 5 jumps through low sec space which was unknown to me....needless to say I couldn't be arsed down to the time restraint and location.
Spent 7 hours that particular day, wasting time and money on probes and managed to get less loot than in an easy lvl2 mission.
Rather than forcing players out to 0.0 to hunt for stuff maybe this idea should be ramped up a bit for those that wanted to get into it to make a bit more ISK and find unusual off the beaten track stuff local to them (weren't these complexes supposed to move about all over New Eden randomly or did I misread a DevBlog???).
....haven't bothered since and don't intend to untill you make it more fruitfull and more local to those stuck in empire. Know of at least 5 other players local to the system I'm in that have come to the same conclusion and are extremely dissappointed, it's a big shame. C'mon please Devs, deliver the excitement you promised in that blog....and make it accessible to all.

HI,
I've had some sucsess with empire scanning & low sec scanning, and quite enjoyed the results. Beats the pants out of trawling belts and doing agent missions. :)
I've had varied results on what i find, and I like the way you discover things with the probes, and im not to bothered by the chance of just getting something pretty to look at.
Yes I've had a some escalations that were good, and I've had a failed escalation where I got a "next step" but no waypoint to go to . But tbh its still in its early stages.
Heres a few things that i've noticed or would like to point out...
Empire Escalations - Keep them as they are, but please can u not put them into 0.0 as you progress down the chain, I dont mind how many waypoints there are, (plenty please :P ) but dont send you into 0.0 because you end up having to run a bloody bubble gate camp and get pwn'ed when your minding your own business, doing dome thing else and getting ganked for someone elses war, because your tanked for mission running basically, with hacking modules on etc, when you get thrown into a PVP situation and your not fitted for it. I can accept a fight if it has to come to it, but bubble camps take the ****, coz your stuffed tbh. Just keep them in 0.1 & above.
The "dead end" where theres nothing to warp to, havent had it much but its there.
Keep what ever u find, inside DS plexes, a gate to warp into, so as people cant just probe your ship out and just take the shortcut into the exploration site without putting in the hard work probing the thing out. Let them put in the man hours to find the dam things.
I haven't been finding any gas related sites at all, plenty of the others though i think.
Please can you sort out gurristas related missions where they all just jam you to ****, and they are still jamming me at well over 100k, I'm in a cerb for christ sake, with maxed out missile skills, and getting about 85 -90k with heavys ( before the flight time runs out) but you cant do diddly coz your jammed out to 120 odd km. Even with backup ecm with 30 odd crusiers all doing its just silly .
But all in all, Its looking good.
Thanks

What is the deal w/ gravimatric signatures? I can scan down everything else (radar, unknown, etc..) may take awhile but I learned patience; however, I found a gravi sig tonight, in a small system I've found plexs in before. Droped my 3 quests so entire system is covered and mostly overlapped by the probes and analyze... and analyze... now like I said have found plexs in this system before nvr taken more than 3-4 runs to get a hit and start narrowing the search, BUT every gravi sig I try to find I never, not once out of over 20 tries have gotten a hit on a gravi sig. So tonight I decide I will by god find this sig! I exhausted (as in the probes timed out)4 sets of quests. For the math challenged thats basically 5 hours of running scans in a system that is 12 au across w/ everything on the same plane! after the 3rd flight of quests burned out checked w/ a multi.. yap gravi sig still there.. so anyone know what's the deal w/ gravimetric sigs? Oh and for the complainers I'm sorry u never learned patience but just as I don't undertand miners u r welcome to not understand explorers.

Hi All,
I've just completed my first run with scanning. Full details and narrative can be found here: http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=445716&page=13#368
So I wanted to give some n00b feed back:
Places for improvement:
1) When scanning unknown class signatures, a multi spectral probe when SHOULD indicate which type of probe to use for best signal strength. Since it's multi-spectral one assumes it takes a large number of samples across different EM bands. IMHO, It would not diminish the amount of skill needed to accomplish scanning to let on which probe type (Grav, ladar, Radar, magnetics) to use here. One still needs to head out and scan. 2) When using the wrong kind of probe and finding hit, you should get a warning to switch probe types. The warning need not tell you which probe to use only that the signal is quite weak and one should instead use another probe type.
P.S. I tried to find the thread for probe feedback, but my forum Mojo was not upto it. Feel free to move this to the right place :>

I have done this twice now and got nothing in return... Come on CCP, make this happen, add loots to these sites, its not worth anyone's time to spend 3+ hours on nothing. Were in this game to have fun! Let the danger be inline with a nice reward.

I stay with highsec atm. Some points for improving with exploration: - Add a "interrupt/pause" functionality to expeditions. After scaning for 2-3h it is likely that you don't have another 2-4h to track down the escalation path. It's very motivative to skip the last path cause your online time has expired - Look into distribution of sigs in empire. If your online window starts later than DT+3h you barely will find anything in highsec - too many birds for some worms - the early birds are either living in another timezone or are unemployed . On idea - limit the sigs that can be resolved per day to 2-3 per player. Another idea - if you want to launch your multispec probe and the system has been scaned with result "nothing found" - display dialog "your system has detected emissions of a recent use of exploration gear - go on yes /no" so you don't waste your time. Another idea (best in my opinion) - each system can be single multispec probed per day by a player. When probing it with the multispec probe the game mechanic decides random based if a sig is present or not. I.e. sigs are not predispatched at DT - they are instancing, when proberesult is positive. This feature will ensure that even those players that start their RL work at DT will find sigs when they log on. - put worthy roids into deadspaces or hidden belts. Not omber in gallente space, where omber is common. Why not add kernite in gallente space and omber in caldari? Think about substituting hemorphite&jaspet in "Serpentis Lookout" by spodumain, bistot or arkonor. The roids in this plex are 95.000 m3 and only 7 MISK in minerals - not worth the effort. - add dialog "despawn plex yes/no" when warping out. Example "Serpentis Lookout" - as I didn't knwo waht to expect I entered with the max ship that was allowed to enter - a BS - I had no tractor beam nor salvager fitted, so i decided to warp out to get my loot ship - poof deadspace despawned. - set the sig to status "found" if the first player enters it. I was lucky that all that found it lateron respected me beeing the early bird and not running past and entering next stage. - Substitute T1 salvage parts by T2 ones in hacking/arch sites in highsec - everyone has tons of T1 salvage parts from mission running

I used to do exploration in low-sec 2-3 months ago. There were quite few sigs, you'd get RADAR sites quite often (in terms of "exploration time" :), and loot was more or less decent (decryptors, materials, etc).
I went to 0.0, did more exploration, it was more or less ok.
Then I returned back to empire and didn't have time to play much for a month.
When I got back to game, I've spent 3 days, going through around 40 low-sec systems (not populated at all - you can barely see a soul there, and they're mostly dirty piwates), found 0 RADAR sites.
Today (after *lots* of running around and wasting time) I found RADAR sig in low-sec, I narrowed it down, I got to see 6 cans.
Sweet.
5 out of 6 cans were empty, 1 can had a cheapo decryptor.
Is this how CCP "improved" exploration drops? Most I've ever seen (and I've used to do 2-3 RADAR sites per day before) was 3 empty cans out of 6, or possibly 2 empty out of 5. Not to mention frequency of RADAR sites.
But 5 empty cans, and almost no exploration loot whatsoever?
The thing is - when I was having lots of success, I was doing exploration very close to (or inside) BoB space. Now, I am far from BoB space, and I get nothing.
Conspiracy theories ftw...

I`ve done alot of 0.0 scanning and all in all the base recieved rewards are no good. I`ve completed "The Sansha Minefields --> Sansha Provincial HQ" without any ship losses tanking in a muninn. This was probably the most disappointing. If youre familiar with the final overseer structure you will know it tanks both shield and armor and has structure from hell. tbh its not possible to break its tank without 3+ bs. Due to this sumthin needs to b bumped up. Whether its loot drops, bounties, escalation chance, woteva it needs to correctly correlate to the fact everything is divided amongst the gang. We recieved absolutly nothing from the overseer. This has been the same with most unknowns I`ve done. The only assumption I can make is that the actual plexes are precursors to the main event of the escalation. All in all exploration is fun, but as this games mechanics run basically on isk, no matter how much fun i`m having i want to be working towards sum sort of financial reward. The escalations i`ve done have been ok, but getting to the end of 1 that has taken many hours to complete, and to get nothing is a sure fire way to put any1 off exploration. I`m not talking a once off experience also, good loot drops have been maybe a 10-15% chance at the end of an escalation. I`m not asking for faction drops everywhere but to complete sumthin like the provincial hq, recieve nothing, then recieve word from a GM that its possible it doesnt have anything in it at all is kinda crazy.

I've been very frustrated with high- and low-sec exploration as well. I'm in GMT-4, so that means I'm usually logging on around 0200 EVE time and picking through the dregs. I either find nothing, or a site that's already being exploited (using that term in the non-EULA-breaking context). I agree with the earlier poster that suggested that exploration sites not be seeded only at downtime (if indeed that's how they're seeded).
I've stopped doing Unknowns -- I've only found one that escalated and it dead-ended after 4 stages. Grav has been the most successful for me -- my corp got some nice mining done. I've just gotten the skills trained for arch and hacking is coming soon, so we'll see how that goes.
FWIW, my exploration results are approximately:
90% empty 4% Unknown sig 3% Grav sig 3% Mag sig 1% Radar 0% Ladar
(yes, I know it adds up to more than 100% -- some systems have multiple sigs)

I don't believe that any agents send you on missions requiring a codebreaker (other than during the tutorial). "Real" Codebreakers (i.e., not the civilian one you use in the tutorial) are used for Hacking sites (Radar).

Hi folks,
first of all sry for my bad english. I can't understand the problems of you guys. I scanned alot in empire and in low sec and i found alot. Even in Empire i found alot of sites, mostly unknowns because noone wants to run the plexes. And these plexes give me an escalation very often, sometimes it's a dead end but most often i reach the end and obtain faction loot. Absolutely ok for me. Most of the empire plexes take 10-15 minutes, can be done in a frig and at the end, if they give an escalation i get loot worth 10-100 mills out of the officer. Really i love the unknowns and can't understand why nobody wants to make them. Same counts for the radar sites. Hmmm ok some of them were empty at all, but some of them give stuff worth 50 mills. In low sec much more, maybe 50-150 mills, and one day i found a site where i got 400 electronic links and one interface bpc, all together around 200 mills (for 30 mins of scanning). What do you ppl expect from empire exploration ???? Earning billion within a day ??? From my point of view exploration as it is now and the reward from it is absolutely ok. And i know what i'm talking about. I scanned down approx. 150 sites and i have to say it paid well when i look on my wallet. There are only 2 things which i think are really sensless. Magneto Sites in high sec are somehow sh*t. Takes me maybe 10-30 mins to find one, and what i got out there were around 10 salvage parts and maybe, "maybe" a rig-skillbook. LOL Normally the rats which protect these sites yield more salvage parts than the cans there. That need to be changed. The second thing which is not ok are the gravimetric sites. For a large belt it takes sometimes hours of scanning to find it. Thats ok so far, the ore is worth the time. What is not ok is the fact that it takes only one scan with the quest probes to find a drone. That means as soon as i launch a drone to protect my miner from the rats there, another guy scanning for the belt with probes will find the drone with 0m accuracy on the first scan. Even ships can be found quite easily. All he needs to do is scasn for ships and drones and if he gets a hit somewhere not in a regular belt, he found the hidden belt. AFTER ONE SCAN !!!!!! I had this experience several times and it is highly demotivating to lose a belt, which took several hours to scan down to another guy which just scans for drones within 3 minutes. Cant say something about scanning in 0.0 and the reward there, never was there. Hmm and honestly spoken, exploration sites in low sec are a bit rare. One word to the Empire scanners : Do not expect to find sites in places where 200 ppl pass in one hour ! Alot of ppl scan in empire, so look for low populated systems. I found several nice places in high sec where up to 7 signatures could be found in a single system. Often with all 4 types (gravi, magneto, radar and unknown). Your chance to find stuff in systems with 10+ ppl in local is rather low and if there is something then check your directional scanner to find out if someone is already searching for the hidden stuff there. I love scanning . . . .

I'm curious as to your normal play times -- it seems that people that tend to get on right after downtime get good results from exploration (due to having freshly seeded sites), while people like me (that explore in the early eve time hours just prior to downtime) tend to find more "used up" sites.
And don't get me started on unknowns -- I decided to give them a try despite everyone's complaints. As many people stated, many end in deadends resulting in about 1-2 hours wasted. However, last night, I got one that was promising, Guardian Angels Surveillance Squad. I took the biggest ship allowed -- it was very easy, but it ended in an empty pirate base. But as soon as I hit the first structure, about 10-15 Serpentis rats spawned, and the base started spamming smartbombs. No big deal, I thought -- I aggroed them all and then released my drones and started attacking. Suddenly, my chat box filled up with message after message about the pirates calling in reinforcements -- no delay at all between them. The screen was suddenly full of NPCS (pic right after this happened). I decided it was time to racall the drones and get out of there, but before they could get back, the frigs were one me and I was webbed and scrammed. I lasted about 45 seconds more before my myrmidon popped. And to make matters worse, there was no way to retrieve my wreck -- even after the mission expired, the rats remained. Downtime removed the rats, but left the site, but I'm certainly not going back.
I'm sure the answer to this is "go in a gang", but I can't ask my mates to gang up for every little exploration site when about 80% of them are dead ends. And I know Eve is supposed to be a harsh mistress, but this "bang, you're dead" type of difficulty is just frustrating.

Let me say I'm greatly enjoying exploration, it's addictive and fun. That said, it certainly has it's problems as so well described by the post below. We lost a few ships in the provisional HQ because we didn't know what we were getting into, and were not ready for it.
I went in the first time in a buzzard, saw what was there and left. We came back thinking we were prepared for it, and ended up loosing a BS. We then came back really prepared for it and destroyed the first spawn in the first room Then just like the below post says, a lot of ships spawn right on top of you, and the frigates scramble you and web you. We got out with the loss of one BS.
We then regrouped and re-entered and took out the spawn.
But after reading here about the 2nd room and the 10,000 dmg grid wide smart bombs, and the fact you get NOTHING for doing this except to kill these rats, we didn't do the 2nd room. Cost vs. Benefit way out of line on this one.
Many of the complexes and sites are the same, the cost outweighs the benefits.
I've got lvl 4 in the scanning skills, hacking, arch, etc. and I still can scan 30 or 40 times to get a Radar site probed down. Level 4 skills in a covert ops ship shouldn't take 40 scans to find. That's just out of line and a bit unfair.
Knowing CCP's motto though, "We don't want to make it too easy on you", I'm sure instead of making it easier you'll make it harder.
Fine, make it hard. Just please give some reward for it? Like the provisional HQ, all that effort and no reward at the end is, well, just plain rude.

4. 850 mil in ships and mods have been lost to this stupid hidden complex. The provisional HQ has been destroyed and there's no can.
[PROBLEM] There's no can.
[PROBLEM-2] Two logistic cruisers, 6 battleships, 1 command ship, 1 cruiser, 1 assault frig, 1 destroyer, 1 interceptor, ~25 armor maint bots were destroyed or lost...850 mil gone and there's no can.
5. Upon destroying the Provisional HQ a random person in our gang recieves a NPC message asking him to go visit the NPC in person. Time limit 60 mins.
[PROBLEM] The destination to meet the NPC is 24 jumps away through hostile 0.0 territory.
[PROBLEM-2] The multiple 10,000 dmg smartbomb destroyed our assault frig and interceptor who were 80-90 km away from the Provisional HQ.
[PROBLEM-3] The nearest station with a shuttle is 9 jumps in the opposite direction of where we're suppose to meet the NPC agent.
[PROBLEM-4] With 50 mins left, we realized that we need to return to the station and grab a shuttle and travel a total of 42 jumps (9+9+24).
[PROBLEM-5] Out of the 10+ people involved in finishing the complex, why is it only 1 person that is randomly selected allow to meet with the NPC agent.
6. We sent our gang member that recieved the NPC message and he arrived at the location with 4 mins to spare. Current time is roughly 35 mins till downtime. Our gang member recieves the mission from the agent. We're to go kill more sansha that's about 12 jumps (? need to check this?) away from the NPC agent. Expiration of the mission is 60 mins.
[PROBLEM] - The fleet is back at the station, 33 jumps away from the NPC agent.
[PROBLEM-2] Two logistic cruisers, 6 battleships, 1 command ship, 1 cruiser, 1 assault frig, 1 destroyer, 1 interceptor, ~25 armor maint bots were destroyed or lost...850 mil gone and there's no can.
[PROBLEM-3] We've already spent 4 hours and 3 attempts on the hidden complex and now we're suppose to travel 33 jumps + 12 more to the mission location through hostile 0.0 territory, complete the mission, and return to the agent within an hour?
[PROBLEM-4] Downtime is in 35 mins + 60 min mission expiration....yeah, we'll pass on this mission.

Really makes you want to do drone plexs, don't it? HEH I get the feeling some times that the people that create these complex's just like to be cruel, mean and vindictive towards players.
Originally by: ShinChan Edited by: ShinChan on 04/04/2007 14:08:14 So I found that 3 unkown signals, scanned all and found 3 drone plexes, INDEPENDENCE, HIERARCHY and RADIANCE. I call a friend and we start with first one. No escalation. So we make 1 jump and start with second one. No escalation. So we make 2 more jumps and start with RADIANCE.
Finally! After 1 hour we get an escalation from the third and last plex. Radiance send us 4 jumps away. We enter the 2on escalation and kill them all. Good! We get another escalation. 40 minutes to complete that one. And now he send us 12 jumps away.
We enter the third escalation and complete it. That one was a bit tougher, but we were rolling eyes because we got a 4th escalation out of it. 50 minutes to complete the 3rd step. But we move on. 13 more jumps to do.
The 4th escalation was pretty huge. Lots of drones at warp in point. Not to mention this time my friend was the one allowed to warp in. So he tanked himself a bit more and I use remote shield repairers just to be safe. While we were killing the waves of drones we received the 5th and final escalation! So we warped out before killing the rest of drones and proceed to do 7 more jumps. time to complete 4th step: 60 minutes.
This time I was the one who received the escalation. I tanked my apoc to his max and my friend's raven equipped armor drones and remote reps. Yes! We were ready to collect the big treasure reward, nothing will go wrong, noone will die. After 4 hours of dedicated effort, ending up ~40 jumps away from starting point, here we are. 2 against 100. Our plan was to kill the scrambling frigs and the proceed with the Supreme Alvus Commander and then the rest of the Supreme Alvus something. I warp in first, and to begin with, a pop-up appears in my screen with big letters saying: DEAD END and strange text detailing how the queen was out for business. But as soon as my screen finally loads, it certainly didn't look like a dead end. 100 drones were awaiting me at their main hive. So I proceed to aggro them all at the same time my dual faction repper with faction stuff starts to lose against their damage. It's time to call for my repairer Raven since all drones have been aggroed. He will able to to safely repair me. Wrong! At the same time he warp in, new waves of supreme drones appear on scene. Bit overcrowded to be a dead end I was asking myself. He requires to warp out since he started to take damage. I allowed him since I'm a good boy and don't want my friends to die, so he warped out and I warped out after him to warp back asap. Wrong again! The expedition has dissapeared from my journal. We sit in TS, grumbling but mainly not saying a word and spitting on whoever designed this pos.
After 5 hours, 40 jumps crossing 3 different regions, intense tanking and highly risking our ships traveling in 0.0 contested regions, we get a slap in the face by CCP. It was not because we got not an escalation, or because we lost our ships in some random alliance blockade, neither we lost a ship against the drones. Poor coded plexes, escalations or whatever these are called now. POS for me. So I hope this is the kind of feedback you need to avoid something like to happen again. These are my thoughts.
P.S. Almost forgot. Since they are drones, we got not a single isk the entire time, no bountys. And there was no way we can bring an indy to collect all the alloys. Who's collecting alloys through 40 jumps in 0.0 anyway?

Hopefully this is still right channel to give feedback on Exploration.
I was doing some exploration yesterday and got disconnected twice while doing that.
First minor issue I notice is lose of probes. When you log back in to the Eve, probes and results are not anymore available (still I was able to find my ex-probes with new ones).
Second more annoying thing was related to site I found. After nearly one hour work I was able to locate site and jumped in and killed guards. I looted 3 out of 5 hacking containers and then got disconnected. And of course when I log back to the Eve there was only my drones left. All those secrets in those unchecked containers where gone What I like to see here is that there is something like 15 minutes - 1 h timer before at least radar/arcsal sites are completed so that you don't lose your reward for small technical set back or if you have forget proper type of equipment (salvager, analyzer or code breaker).
Other more like improvement idea is that if Death space signature could tell the type of signature that was detected. I assume that advanced computers on board of ship can tell what source that signal comes from. For example if there is gravimetric, unknown and radar signature in system there is now way for me to know what type of probe to use for next step when I got initial signal. I think this would not make exploration too much easier.
Also something motivating during the cycle would be nice "like probe number xx is receiving faint radar signalv and if this is shown even if there will be now actual result it gives hint that probes are set in right places. This could be also random, but with higher change than pinpointing actual location.
It should be harder to scan ship from death space site. Now it is too easy to capture site. DS could for example cause interference so that finding ship from site is as hard as finding site it self. Of course there is then problem that sites maybe used as safe spots, but is that bad issue?
Empty Arc and Hacking containers feels like bug, could you put even something tiny to every container. And my opinion containers should disappear or at least marked same way as wrecks when they are checked.
Rewards vs. time consumed with exploration are still very bad. You have taken right steps but maybe still some more rewards (at least in low sec.)
Amarr needs tech I exploration frigate or if you think that it is not Amarr style it can be cruiser class as well
Anyway thank you for this aspect of game. I really like it.
