Here's my mission setup. It's not uber pimp, but it does L3 'The Blockade' solo without warping, so it's good enough, and a fair middle ground between outrageous expensive and performance. "Semi-Passive" a la Ferox...:
High: 7x Limos Heavy, Tractor Beam Med: 2x Inv Field I, 1x Active Therm I, 3x Large Extender II Low: 2x Ballistic Control II, 2x PDS II
17.6k Shield HP, 784.9 recharge. Resists, rounded off: True Passive resists: 37 / 73 / 60 / 49 EM / Exp / Kin / Therm Active Resists: 53 / 81 / 72 / 79 EM / Exp / Kin / Therm
Cap idles at about 69% with hardeners turned on.
I use Kin missiles and Therm drones, running missions for Brutor Tribe (Minmatar).
14 CPU and 63 Grid left over.

Evil?? I npc and pvp with that setup. Last night took on 3 recons solo, Falcon, pilgrim and a rapier. Killed thier drones, got into the falcon and pilgrims armor/structure and killed the rapier. Still had 20% shields and still had 10-11 missiles in each launcher. + I salvaged the guy's wreck too.
Is that evil enough?

Can you read? That ship has Heavy Missile Launchers (70km+ range with semi-decent skills) not Heavy Assault Launchers. And it is quite easy to kill ships without scrams, especially ones not likely to be running a good tank. All you have to do is trick them into thinking they have a chance of winning, and thus stay in the fight past the point of no return (ie when they would die before they could warp). That's how long range ceptor's win fights. It is especially easy to pull that off with missle ships as they apply their damage in a burst instead of steadily, so the enemy goes from "I can just hold in here" to "**** Im dead" before they realise.

All good looking setups.
Atm I have skills training so I can t2 fit my drake. But I can run l3 missions right now fine If I just create a BM for the deadspace area, warp out, then warp in at a distance and snipe them. I just get the cruisers/battle cruisers first, then get the frigates/other small crap.
The DPS for it sucks ass, some tanking frigs take forever, but I get the job done.
7 heavies, tractor
4 large sheild extends
4 pdu's
I have 3mil SP, 1.2 of it which is caldari industrial. But in a week or two, I should be able to fit one of these t2 setups.
Drake is a beast little ship. Signature removed, please resize it to meet the 24000 bytes maxium rule. Yours is currently 58244 bytes. -Ivan K |

solo most lv4:
heavy: 7 heavy med: 2 lse, 3 t2 hardners of your choosing, 1 whatever you want (sensor booster, painter) low: 3 bcu, 1 relay all modules are t2. just make sure you have the right hardners, gank+tank.
for the harder ones you need to warp out anyway so dosn't make much difference.

Ok, much like my Setup, but the Drake has 6 Med-Slots So, i have 2 Resistance Amps II and 2 Hardeners II in it. Also I hav 3 Purger-Rigs (Shield Recharger) in it, so 1 SPR is enough for most Missions. Instead of the SPRs i have 3 BCU in. And i take Arbalests. Easy to kill a triple 1,7mio or double 1,85mio spawn with it. I do also lvl 4 missis and 10plex with this baby. I think active tank on the Drake is a waste of the advantages, that the Ship offers. If you prefer active so take a Raven. For PVP i take the same fitting with 2 EM-, 1 Therm- and 1 Kin Resistance Amp II. Even an Abaddon can`t beat this tank in a 1on1 without fully T2-Equipment and 3 Heat-Sinks(tested with my Corp in 0.0)
My setup is a High-recharge-Setup(in full Tank i have 294). Even 20K Shield is fast blown away, but a fast Rechargerate is hard to beaten. So in most situations: Recharge>HP

If you take a Shield Recharger II instead of the third Extender, you have the same recharge, but less Signature, so the Hits does less DMG on you. On my Setup (see above) I have in the PVP-Setting: 72% EM 68% Explo 72% Kin 70% Therm 13084 Shield with a rechargerate of 294, well rounded resis and a HP-recharge much higher than yours. Rat specific fitted the Resis are about 82-89%, depends on the Rats.

Yeah, your right, it was my faultBut if you take a Recharger you can drop off one of the PDUs and put a SPR in it, but this would be a complete new fitting. I prefer mine, I tested nearly all passive and active Variants against Gate-Sentrys, Players and NPCs and this one did it best.

Depends on your skills, with AWU 4 you can fit 3 LSE2 without a PDU.
Personally I am using 2 LSE2 and 1 SR2 as well, since I do not have that. Once I get a 5th DG launcher I'll be able to fit 3 LSE2 without AWU, but thats not exactly something for use in low sec/0.0, nevermind PvP

Simple setup:
Hi: 7x Heavy Missile Launchers (8th slot intentionally left blank but could be a drone range unit) Mid: 3xLSE, 2x active hardeners rat primary, 1x active hardener rat secondary Low: take your pick of: PDU (for fitting), SPR, BCS
Use the best you can afford/skill. I use tech2 mid/low.
For heavy tank, fit SPR, for more dps, fit BCS according to your mission requirements. With 3xSPR I tanked L4 Gurista Extravaganza trivially for someone else while they killed the stuff. I wouldn't have the dps to do the job in that configuration.

After some testing, I've switched to this setup:

Mids: 3x LSE 3x Hardeners/Invuls OR 2x and 1x MSE (over 20k shields this way, if wanted)
Lows: 1x BCU 3x PDU
*Gonna try 2x PDU and 1x BC in lows in a bit...

Low-Slot: 2x Ballistic Control 1x Sensor Amplifier 1x Multispectral ECCm
Named, Faction or Tech II is preffered
The ECCM is only for use against jamming rats such as Gurista.
This is a great tank and supplemented with skills and firepower enough to take down the biggest rats out there.

I fitted my new toy with stuff I had lying around, mostly looted:
High: 7 heavy (mix of named - X-3200, limos, malkuth) with Scourge, small nos (to fill the slot mostly) Mids; kinetic, EM, thermal passive hardeners, 3 large extenders (mixture of assorted named) Lows: shield power relay, PDS II, BCS I, DCU
I have oodles of grid left, and a little bit of CPU. Any suggestions for improving this? Yes, I do like passive tanks - if only because I can leave to answer the phone or something and still have a ship when I come back.
I use a similar setup with my Ferox, and do level 3 with ease - will this do some level 4 or is that pushing it too much?

Why bother with such a high recharge rate when what the drake really needs is extra dps.
Highs:
- 7 x T2 Heavy Missile Launcher - 1 x Small Tractor Beam I
Meds:
- 2 x T2 Invuln Fields - 2 x T2 Large Shield Extenders - 2 x T2/Gist B-Type Rat Specific Hardeners (Angels I use Exp/Kin hardener)
Lows:
- 3 x Domination Ballistic Control Systems (lower cpu use than T2) - 1 x SPR
Rigs:
- 3 x Core Defense Field Purger
I prefer damage over overwhelming tank as you really don't need lots of tank just more dps. Kicks out over 200 dps against all rats and can tank like crazy. I love it, I run missions semi afk so being a passive tank suits me fine since I can walk away at any time and go do something else.

7 T1 Heavy launchers 1 invuln T1, 1 passive thermal, 1 passive kinetic, 3 LSE 4 shield coil thingies (+ shield recharge, -35% cap recharge)
Got reasonable supporting skills (mech V, eng V, etc), with mediocre missile and shield skills, and ran the first part of a level 4 pirate slaughter against angels last night, and was very impressed with the Drake's tanking with my poorish skills compared to my armour tanked Domi.
Any suggestions on improvements to basic setup, rather than just 'Use T2 everything'?

Trying passive tanking, hence the passive hardeners and the SPR's. DPS isn't so bad, but was thinging about swapping out a couple of the SPR's for BCS's. Sound better?

What Militis Kolosok has a post above, + 3 purger rigs and 3 BCU2 and 1 SPR in the lows. If you cannot fit 7 HML + 3 LSE2, fit 2 LSE2 + 1 shield recharger 2 instead.
