Congratulations! You've been selected to participate in the Diablo III beta test.
As a beta test participant, you'll have the chance to check out all five hero classes -- barbarian, witch doctor, wizard, monk, and demon hunter. You'll fight your way through part of Act I and go head-to-skull against the Skeleton King, taking him on alone or cooperatively with other adventurers. You'll also get to meet up with some of the artisans, followers, and other key characters from Sanctuary, and try out the game's skill and crafting systems.
At the same time, you'll be helping us test the stability of the Battle.net-F-+ service and fine-tune the game balance prior to launch.
We also invite you to share your Diablo III beta experience with the world! All participants can take screen shots, capture video, and/or publicly disclose information about their beta test experience.
We look forward to hearing your feedback, and we'll see you on Battle.net!

Diablo I and II were a boring hack and slash fest. I only played those at LAN parties.

I can't tell you how many times I've got those emails about my WoW account...a game that I have never played.
A few times I replied back with some made up account information in hopes that they're blindly selling account information or that at the very least they'd get really excited that someone actually fell for it and then have their hopes dashed to bits and pieces. |

I didn't realize there IS a beta for Diablo III until I saw this thread. Wouldn't want to play it though, I only ever really played Diablo for the story and don't wanna ruin it. After that it's just a grind fest. |

Characters are capped at level 13 I think, and you can only play through the first half of the first act, so it's not a huge spoiler fest. Right now it's about stress testing the servers which have been having a bit of trouble with the load.

The only good the beta is for is to get a feel for how the game plays. There is so much stuff missing it's not worth it tbh. I played through the beta, but the 5 or so hours of fun I've had does not justify the additional torment the waiting gives me now that I've got a taste.
I'd recommend just staying away until the game is out.
