Since, unfortunately, this broadcast has been totally ballsed up (partly I think due to unprecendented demand, and partly due to the vastly inferior Flash technology)..
Any chance of a re-broadcast of this weekend's event, perhaps during the week?
Most of us haven't been able to watch sucessfully, so a re-broadcast would really be appreciated.

The worst part of it is that last time, because they used a standardized stream, someone was kind enough to rip it and post it to the Pirate Bay. Tens of thousands of people then downloaded the fights so they could watch them after the fact. The torrent was even endorsed by CCP.
This time, since its using a non-standard piece of crap flash format, nobody will be able to do that. All we can hope is that CCP sets up a torrent themselves.

I will be recording the BoB fights. It's not as easy as before, but it's still possible. -

Does FRAPS capture it, or do you need a 2D screen capture utility?

Fraps DOES capture it, but I've had to build a setup purely for doing this.
Flash player doesn't output on a DirectX layer, so the only way of doing this smoothly (i.e not a standard layer screen capture, which would run at around 2fps) is by using Windows Vista, using Aero.
This works because Vista Aero outputs the whole desktop to the DirectX layer, and therefore it works fine.
The only alternative way is to hack the RTMP protocol, which I will do in preparation for next time ;)
But.. it's a mission! -

Go into your flash setting and crank the buffer size up. It helped tremendously, though the stream still isn't perfect.

Well guess I miss day 1 and day 4 because they decided to have the fights on friday mornings in the US. Then because it's flash it's not easy to save for rebroadcast there isn't much of a chance to watch them at all. I managed to catch a piece of match here and there and ended up watching the buffering message most of the time.
I wonder how the interest for the rest of the tourney and any future ones will be if we have to deal with similar issues. Not even going to say what I think of paying for a high speed stream.
As for the commentary, I'll just say that I don't think I'll be watching much more than the matches now because of it, if I even can.

With the state of the stream, recording on my 100mbit box isn't going to work.
I give up, CCP - choose your content partners more carefully. -

Sadly, changing cache size doesnt do anything because looks like that service is not caching anything.

You don't need to edit it down. Should be able to fit each day's broadcast pretty easy within 1-2 gigabytes.
If that's too much, use a torrent.
