I have tried to find my overview folder on my mac, but there is no folder there. Here is where I have looked for it /[your user name]/Library/Preferences/EVE Online Preferences/p_drive/My Documents/EVE/Overview. I have also tried doing a export to see if it would make the folder in there. Am I looking in the wrong spot? |

Oh k, ty. Found where that is but the only folder's in there is the capture, fittings, and logs. Could I just make the Overview folder with the other ones? |

Yes you can just make the folder and drop your setting files in it and import them in-game. If you exported overview settings, the folder should already be there. |

I did export but its not showing up where you told me to look, but when I go to do a import in game the thing I exported is showing up. Not sure whats up with that. But I will make the folder and ad a overview file to see if it shows up there. |

One way to find where the overview goes is to export any overview setting to a file to which you give a distinctive name. Then use the file search function to find it. Once found, you got the location. I am running for the CSM https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=779668#post779668 |

I just updated to Lion, had to trash my app support for it and after setting up my client again, I find that the overview and log files did move(As Seamus said). Looks like things are getting messy for Mac users, CCP needs make it in the same location. |

Ok I just updated to Lion as well and I made a copy of my setting for overview, fittings etc. Now I can't find the EVE Online folder under [your user name]/Library/Application Support, and I did a test overview export to help find it. So now what am I doing wrong now? |

Well if the house looking thing is my user name then I do not have a library there, the only place I have a library is in my mac's hard drive. In the hard drive there is a application support folder but no eve online folder. |

Check this out http://osxdaily.com/2011/07/04/show-library-directory-in-mac-os-x-lion/
And to CCP: Make sticky about this topic, especially when you change locations of the files. Or what made the locations change, I have one Mac on 10.6 and one on 10.7 and those files are in different places on each, and then we have some users saying they are in the same spot on different OS's.

seriously .. I dont have this folder, I can create an overview settings file with an easily findable name .. but finder search doesn't find them . although EVE will flag them for re-import .. this is driving me nuts

OK, in my SnowLeopard Library, I have only /Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/My Documents..
The only folder in there is My Video. The tree ends there
I exported a fit (somewhere) successfully, but Finder can't find it. In fact, Finder can't "find" the file I named Loki and placed in the old Preferences location
Any ideas? |

To find this file, you need to set the finder to search system files. Snow Leopard here, but I assume it's similar on Lion -
1) Apple-F 2) Where it says "Kind is Any," click on "Kind" and choose the "Other..." option. 3) Scroll down to the "System files" attribute. Check "In Menu." Hit OK. 4) Now, from that same "Kind" drop-down menu, you should be able to choose "System files." Set it to "ARE included." 5) Search away! It will now find stuff in your library, which of course includes EVE's files. |

Yeah, found it under
~/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/User/My Documents/EVE/
I made an alias of that directory and put it in my documents directory so that I don't have to navigate that far down next time. |

Well, that is the directory where it looks for the file when you EXPORT or IMPORT it. but what happens when you "SAVE" your overview settings. I am quite sure it must be stored onto my harddisk, but not in a separate file. although you may name the ssaved configuration. |

Another thing I leaned today:
If you go to the finder and click on the "Go" menu, you get a list of folders. If you then hold down the Option key, the folder "Library" shows in that list. Click on it and you got the library folder open where, under application support, the eve files are stored. http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |
