Hi,
what I'm proposing is simple and yet I think it would have a big impact on the overall feeling and atmosphere of the game. Especially for new players.
More NPC presence in a system.
It has been partly suggested in some other threads but i think not like this. Here is why I'm proposing this.
1. Space feels kind of empty.. especially in Low-Sec and Null systems. But even some HS has only 5-10 at "prime time". 2. The New Eden Universe is theoretically filled with billions of people belonging to one of the four empires. People besides NPC Faction Rats and Concord. And yet there is little sign of them! 3. When you enter a system it should feel like entering an eco system on its own. Millions of inhabitants in the different stations, living out their daily lives. 4. As a new player you should have this feeling of a busy and live universe. And although capsuleers are plenty in some systems i think its not enough
Non-Combat NPC Classes:
1. Economy - more caravans, merchants, traders 2. Exploration - brave npc explorers venturing beyond empire space in search of riches 3. Miners and Industrialists - mining maybe a small amount so they don't inconvenience capsuleers. 4. Criminals - smuggling drugs and stolen goods in and out of empire space.
Mechanics :
1. The amount of NPC entities in a system could be generated according to the average capsuleer presence in a system. 2. Interraction with Non-Combat NPC - Basically the same rules of engagement apply when aggressing them in empire space (Concord intervention) 3. Minimal interaction with the markets. 4. Minimal loot drop from a non-combat NPC so not to incentivize killing them.
Benefits:
A more immersive and believable universe.
Thanks for reading. Feedback appreciated.

The population of the universe is actually 0.
Infinite number of worlds divided by a finite number of populated worlds = 0.
Also I find empty good. I for example find the most desolate station in system to call home. Why? I like seeing a very clean undock. If for months on end I see no one in undock and one night I see several ships, known for high alpha fitting....I go hmm, now that is odd. This one way to not see ships go boom potentially I find. |

Not a bad idea.
Random NPC flying between stations, belts, planets, and so on.
+1 from me. |

No to unneeded NPCs
no to CONCORD being called in CONCORD is only for capsule on capsule interactions
HELL NO to them having any effect on the market
eve is about interacting with players what we need is fewer NPCs not more

He is not suggesting that, more visible NPCs would be cool. |

Whilst it might not be much, this still consumes server resources for no practical use. you've deliberately designed them to provide no impact what so ever. New players will find this interesting for all of 5 minutes.
Npc's are boring inhabitants. They dont do anything.

Counter proposal, remove npc trade ships. They undock, fly out a few km's then sit and do nothing until about ten of them are loitering on an undock.
EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided" "So it will be up to a pilot to remain vigilant wherever they may be flying and be ready for anything at any time"

More open space PVE content might be a good thing but NPC's that don't interact with players are just a waste of server resources. Instead of getting rid of the NPC trade convoys - make them worth shooting, at least for newer players. |

Look at the beginning of this article. This is appeal of the game #1 tbh. Would rather like to see more player interaction.
Future of T3 cruisers - multi-tool they aspired to be instead of sledgehammer they have become
