Exact same stats Except You change 10 seconds flight time to a 10 seconds focused beam. Manually aim just as bombs are now. It does the full damage if you hit the focused damage on the target for the 10 seconds.
As with any human, we must map out everything for the sake of living. So what happens when you put the same aspect in a game with random events? They go nuts trying to figure out how to predict and map out everything.

2 second cycle time or a possible 10 second charge up so you have to be uncloaked and wait 10 seconds before it fires the burst.

Or you could just remove them, it would be faster than requiring flimsy bombers to sit still in a large fight for 10 seconds.

they would work on sieged caps.... so long as you tossed enough at them that some lived passed the 10second mark

Figure this would be a better place to put this than opening a new thread
I feel the AOE bombs are in a ok place as is they could be better but aren't in dire need of anything at the moment
what i would like to see is more focused bombs and the ability to use focus bombs in LS
since they don't AOE and are almost impossible to use on anything but a supper or sieged cap i don't see them being to much of a problem like regular bombs would be in LS
feel free to point out if that's incorrect i may not have thought of an abuse for it
But what they would add is a way for smaller groups to take on caps if they have none of their own as is if you only have 4-5 guys you basically have to bounce if some one decides to drop a triage Archon on the field you basically have to disengage(at least with skynet you could jam or pop the figthers)
even if we didn't get any new bombs the focus void bombs would be a big help in at least disrupting carrier reps in LS long enough for a well organised group to kill off their targets

I'd rather bombs were thoroughly reworked and expanded with variants, like smaller aoe and longer range ones. Also there's the possibility to factor target speed into their damage calculation, with different values for different bomb types. Hell, they could even be made lockable to encourage point defense roles in fleets (something tells me this idea is due to me playing too much Stardrive lately and would also be nigh-unbalanceable).
There are so many things that could be done to tweak bombs and bomber meta that do not involve weird changes like this. Turning bombs into some sort of focused death ray, that would surely require a lot of special coding, mind you, is very low on the list of good ideas to fix bombers. |

Basically. I remember an eve where bombers were yet another ship class that was just there....Not really used much all in all
Meta and tactice eventually came around to give them a place in eve. More variety to the fleet scene usually a good thing. Especially in frigate class where CCP has generally given few reasons to make use of the whole lineup. EAF hit and miss (exists imo for the cheap choice if you can't afford recons that do it better), AF's CCP seems to have a grudge against since they buffed inties and insert t3d rant here lol. CO's keep a job since unless looking to scan and run your pve CO's are more than fine for probe duty on pvp ops. Pirate goes hot and cold as well too.
This idea, well I respect the ideas to just remove them more. They are at least honest in their intent if serious. Still agains but have to respect up front intentions lol.

and yes a billion time I want to dogfight with nuclear pumped lasers.
also on bombs I think the damage types should affect their performance.
Minmatar and Caldari get K-Bombs which work as they do now, just big kinetic kill bombs
Ammar and Gallente using EM and thermal get A-bombs which are limited the inverse squared law http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverse-square_law, so damage dropoff from the epicenter is sharp however give them more raw damage to compensate |

What? i'm just say give an option to counter a hac + triage with out needing 2 neut boats or a cap of your own not some supper weapon that makes it so 5 guys can take on a BS fleet with vastly superior numbers
the focused nuet bomb as worked wonders to balance high class WH space where only defenders can bring in caps its not some game breaking supper weapon
