Edited by: Arshes on 19/10/2006 08:27:28 Well I've been paying on and off since release and just got back into it.
I want to make a ->ranged<- Blackbird to stay out of the fire but still back up my 4-5 man PvP team:
-We have a tackler and some ok damage people (most pretty new to EvE) -I need to keep the guy from either doing damage to our guys or crippling him in some way.
Been reading my eyes out and seems like many people have solo or tackle setups. I need a non costly ship as it may go down with our newer players but still effective.
Thanks much, setups much appreciated.
EDIT: After reading a bit more think about something like this.
3x Standard/assualt launchers 6x Multispecs (maybe 5 multispecs and one large cap battery) 1x Cap relay 1x 1600mm plate
Not sure if that plate will fit and think of taking out a multispec for a large cap battery since I usually don't target more then one person.

How about the very obvious:
Highs: 3x Heavies, 1x Medium nos Meds : 5x ECM (take your pick), 1x Medium cap booster Lows : 2x Ballistic control
I get a range around 70km+ with the heavies. Excellent gang assister.

I put at least one sensor booster, sometimes two, in mid slots for range and fast lock, then 4 racial jammers + 1 multi. The racials got better range, with a little training you can easily jam well over 100km away. Imo multispecs dont work very well on ships bigger than cruisers.

you'll need more than a single relay to keep 5-6 multi's running indefenitely. the large battery is a good option ____________________

Edited by: Arshes on 20/10/2006 01:16:31 Well this is what I have come up with let me know what you think.
High: 3X Malkuth Heavy's each with a diff missle in them 1x med NOS Med: 4x Racial ECMs 1x Multi Spec ECM 1x Sensor booster (toying with dropping for Cap booster) Low: 1x Cap Power relay I 1x Ballistic Control System
I'm really only targeting one ship is my cap going to be ok without that cap booster or should I be dropping that sensor booster?
EDIT: Even open to dropping the other BCP in the low for something since my main point is EW not damage, what you think?
Thanks

High: 3x Named/T2 Heavy launchers 1x Named/T2 Small Remote Rep
Med: 4x Multispecs/Racials 2x Sensor Booster II/1x Sensor Booster II & 1x Med Cap Battery II
Low: 1x Named Damage Control 1x CPRelay
I used to fit a 1600mm RT plate instead of Damage Control but it seriously nerfs your warp range, and you hold up the gang/fleet. Also if you want range you'll need to keep a sensor booster fitted. -----------

I like this, but one question. If I drop to only having 4 racials (one of each race) do I risk nerfing my jamming abilities without have a multi spec in case the jammer for that race fails?
EDIT: An example would be I am jamming a Caldari and I use my Caldari ECM and it fails. I have to wait till its ready again instead of having that multispec to back it up. Or does that wait time not really matter?
Thanks

Drop the cap power relay for a signal amp II - the BB gets a bonus to ECM cap needs, and with racials you'll never drain your cap. Having the racials is good. It means you can jam out to ~150 or so without trying. The signal amp/booster combo gives you a quicker and farther lock.
For this type of gang work I fight outside missile range in a BB - maybe put a damage control/plate/armor repper in instead of the BCU

heavy missle launchers are no good, as a bb pilot u have to jam and that is the weapon with the most use for a gang. So i suggest
hi whatever med racial jamer, sbII low 1600 plate rcu
its a t1 cruiser so ur resitances are bad, so u need to gain more hp, wasting med slots for that is plain stupid, so it has to be plate.

the problem with multi's is their limited range. You only reaching maybe a bi t more than 100 KM with multi's
