High Damage = good vs Larger targets or long range boats you catch at short range.
However, you will find you will struggle against another cruiser that is fitting a plate setup, such as a 1600mm Plate Rupture or DuraMaller. You can switch to a 1600mm setup yourself to match those particular cruisers.
Personally, I like the high damage approach, just be careful about which targets you engage. If you can use T2 Heavies, go for 2 Heavy drones, 2 Medium and 1 Light drone. Max possible damage. -----

Yes.
4 Heavy electron blaster II,1 small nos, mwd, web, scrambler, mar II, DC, RCU II and 800mm plate.
preferd mix of drones, i prefer five hammerhead II and one Ogre II
cap wise it wont last long, but it's enough to kill a cruiser and then some.

Under normal circumstances I would say this is a good Vexor setup.
But when It comes to cruisers there is a huge imbalance issue in the game.
Cruisers just die to fast. With this setup your tanking abilities are worse than a assault frig and you will die to one.
All PvP fitted cruiser setups include a 1600mm Plate and small weapons, so build your Vexor setup around it.
Thats right, battleship and frigate sized modules on a cruiser to be somehow effective.
Sure you will get some kills with this setup but against a plated cruiser you will die a painfull death... and the plated cruiser setup costs a half of yours.

That's a lie. not every pvp cruiser sticks a 1600mm plate. --- I need a sig :( |

That is complete and utter bull****. While I agree that the setup in question will have some problems handling 1600mm cruisers, you have to remember that there is other types of PvP than solo PvP. In a cruiser group, diverse setups are much more effective than a group of 1600mm plated cruisers. Also, I've fought ruptures and mallers with 1600mm plates in my vampvexor with an 800mm plate. -------------------------------------

Edited by: Setana Manoro on 14/10/2006 21:47:31 Blaster setup = small range . Small range = get in range very fast. AB is not getting in fast. Tops 450-480 m/s.
Like it was suggested, drop the nos, put a 5th blaster, and replace the webber with a cap injector.
It will be like a Thorax, maybe somewhat faster. But i suspect you will have some problems with Tech 2 frigs, especially AF's. Inty's will get killed if you keep 5 Warriors II, but with AF's it will be more interesting.

My personal Vexor setup:
5x small nos
1x 10MN MWD II 1x webber 1x 20km scram
1x 1600mm plate rolled tungsten 1x Medium 'acco' rep 1x Damage control 1x Nanofiber (got 0.75 grid left for the last slot... and the nanofiber makes me as fast as a vexor without a plate!)
5x Hammerhead II 5x Hobgoblin II
Cheers!

Edited by: Svenholio on 15/10/2006 13:02:13 If your going to use blasters, you need a web.
With the AB its also going to be difficult getting into range, your going to need the repper to keep you alive to even get there, cap is SOOOOOOOOO gonna hurt. Maybe use small tech 2 neutrons so you dont kill your self when you start chewing through the ship.
Maybe go EANM IIx2 in the low to help your resists a touch, scrub the magstab. With your drones doing damage is not so much an issue.

My personal preference:
4x 125mm IIs 1x Drone Link Augmentor I
1x 10mn AB II 1x 20km Scram 1x Multispec
1x MAR II 1x EAMN II 1x DCU 1x 1600mm RT Plate
5x Hammerhead IIs 5x Hobgoblin IIs
Yes, i disagree that every cruiser should fit a plate + small guns, but vexor is not the kind of a cruiser to fit mediums, after wich there barely is enough grid to fit a semi-decent tank. Sure, if you want to gank miners in lowsec belts and roam around 0.0 with a gank squad, its fine, but for that, there is the Thorax with its mwd bonus. ---
