I have played eve for about one month now and am looking for a good setup for my caracel. Atm i use 5 heavy launchers/ 2 medium shield extenders, afterburner / 2 bcu. I am wondering how i should modify it and still fit in the powergrid and cpu, it is full now. Any suggestions are welcome.

Change the heavies to Malkuth, they use less CPU. In the midslots, I'd put a Medium Shield Booster II and 1-2 hardeners, forget the extender. If you have room, cap batteries, cap rechargers, and cap boosters are good.

All Hardeners are good. It depends what you are fighting against. I mainly use Inv. hardeners for pvp. For ratting, look up what they're shooting at you and grab the proper hardeners for it. Heres a little help.

If your pirating, its usually common scense to use the hardener that the certain rats (in the system your in) are weak against. IE. the type of ammo in which deals the most damage to the rats in the system. Hope it all makes sense...

Or you can go for standard missile specialisation and buy those T2 assault launchers you might have never known you wanted
9.6 sec base ROF ftw (modified then by all other ROF skills for missiles, incuding the spec). __ Always question everything. Including yourself. |

How are you guys fitting all that? I'm maxed out on CPU with my caracal and I've only got 3 Heavies and 2 Assaults in the high-slots.

For lvl 2 missions in my caracal, this is my set up:
5 limos assault launchers 3 large shield extenders, 2 named shield rechargers 2 named shield power relays
2 emp drones.. acolytes i think?
Light missiles wfpwn the frigs and intys in lvl 2 missions, and rip through the cruisers fairly quickly also. No point in active tanking as the passive tank can hold at over 50% on any mission, and I haven't even started training my engineering skills up yet.

What are you trying to do with this ship? If you're fitting to run level 2 missions, I would not advise using heavy launchers; 98% of the ships you will be up against in level 2s are frigates, and heavies aren't that effective against them. Assault launchers will give you better DPS on most level 2 missions and will also give you more fitting room.
I have a pretty suboptimal (I think)fitting on my Caracal right now, but it eats level 2s alive:
5 x Assaults (Arbalests) 1 x T2 Shield Booster 1 x 10mn AB 3 x Medium Shield Extender 1 x Ballistic Control System 1 x Power Diagnostic System
