Have killed two people so far. Have never seen a cargo pod or anything yet. Is there supposed to be anything? Or ... is that was ransoming is for?
Thx,
P

I would guess that either everything was destroyed when you killed them, or that they simply had an empty hold and no modules fitted. ---------

Make sure your overview is set to show cargo containers, just in case. They're under the "Celestial" category.

yes ships should drop items, as the whole idea of piracy is to make money by non legal means. hense why freighters arent worth the trouble for anyone atm. even if they refuse the ransom blowing them up just means spent ammo costs with no profit(unless its a war target).

There are some who would prefer self destructing their ship though. It's a last ditch effort to deprive your killer of any loot. ================================================== Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam

I imagine that 120 seconds is more than enough to kill said ship. ------

Depending on where you are your security status will drop, but I don't think that counts :p ------------------------------------------------------

I'd have to disagree on that part about freighters. They are definately worth the effort. If the pilot pay ransom you get a nice load of cash, if they don't you get that warm fuzzy feeling of satisfaction after destroying billions worth of isk for someone and a nice mail stating you popped a freighter.
If I have the winning bid on an auction, please mail me in game. |

Cans do drop but the best loot is normally destroyed. Had a very rare instance of good luck yesterday where a manticore was insta popped at JIP.The guy had mods worth less than 10k in terms of offensive and defensive modules but he dropped a lovely improved cloaking device.
Actually this drop was a good example of the tech 2 exploit situation.A relative noob in a frig who can barely use cruise missiles but is forced to fit a 70mill module to his ship just to make it work and he gets insta popped on probably one of his first trips to low sec.I wish they would sot out this tech 2 crap tbh.

improved cloaking device 70 mil? i think u mean the covert ops cloak mate which doesn't drop from mantis or any other stealth bombers, only the normal covert frigs or force recon cruisers. And what exactly about that situation is an exploit? confusing...

He/She doesn't mean 'exploit' in the sense of an exploitation of game mechanics, but the 'unfairness' that the t2 player controlled (and limited) market plays on the not so well off players.. i.e. 70mill is a ****ing ripoff when the build cost is <5mill. etc. etc. but the player has no choice in the matter.
