Hey, im currently on a 14 day trial looking to activate it to a full account soon.
I came across one of the skill books saying that I can't learn it because I'm on a trial account, so I was thinking of activating for the ability to learn that.
However, I still have considerable time left in the trial period (10+ days), and my question is: Would I lose the 10 days if i activated my account now?

yes, you will - they'll start the billing cycle from the minute you upgrade from a trial to a full account.

That's a little annoying IMO.
But i guess it means im waiting till my trial is over before upgrading.

Either way there are more than enough skills to keep you busy for 10 days, you won't be hurting in the long run ;).

IIRC I upgraded mine on day 2 and haven't looked back since. Either way you will have fun and that's the important part.

i wish i could find a post by a mod to back this up, but i'm almost certain this is correct as I finally convinced one of my pals to try EVE, he loved it and upgraded on his third day and then when he checked his account details bemoaned the loss of the rest of his trial.
either way, not sure it's that big or scary a deal, is it?

Just to confirm, yes you will lose the remaining trial days if you upgrade.

I would recommend riding out the free trial before upgradinig. You will lose the remaining free time. The reason that Industrial is not allowed on trial is to keep people from creating multi indi pilots to do their hauling. They usually had no intention of upgrading the account, just starting a new trial after 14 days.
Train up your learning skills to 3 or 4. That will keep you busy.

Edited by: Acidictadpole on 12/10/2006 12:45:13 Yes, it was industrial, I actually found that a friend of mine in an IRC channel plays eve and we hooked up.. The thing he needs most is haulers (I take it they are a rare commodity) and I want to help him out..
He bought me the book only to find out that I can't learn it, and upon further inspection there was a little addition to the description (Can not be learned by trial accounts). Does that not show up to people with a full account?
I still have the ability to learn to pilot an osprey so that's what im busy with, learning frigates IV right now and for the next 2 days 16 hours 35 minutes and 20.. 16 seconds.
Until then I guess I get to mine for him and wait for him to set up cans.

Yup, that statement will show up the same for everyone. It is even posted on the item database so that people without accounts can read it. Most likely he just didn't think to look for it.

My first trial acct I activated on the last day of the trial. After that I went and cancelled my 3 daoc accounts and opened 2 more eve accounts, for the 2 new trials I paid them up before even logging in. This game rocks lol.
