Ever spent hours or days trying to find an elusive module? Ever wish that you could find someone who knows what he's talking about to discuss the differences between modules, and give good and accurate estimates on their prices? Tired of the Trade channel's endless BPC spams?
For weeks, myself and other established rare module dealers have been discussing our options. And now finally, we bring you the BAZAAR!
Bazaar is a channel in the EVE-Online game; it's sole purpose is the buying, selling, trading, and discussion of non-SCC (non-market) modules. Perhaps it'd be easier for you to think of it as the first and only black market in EVE at this time.
At Bazaar, you get only the finest service. Our knowledgeable staff can help you with anything from price checks to advice on filling your ship's slots. If we don't have it, we can help you find a seller!
Players of all types are welcomed and encouraged to visit--whether you're buying, selling, or just looking for advice. We'd even like to see more players willing to help give advice, so come on over and share your knowledge. There are a few rules which will be adhered to in the channel however:
1.) This room is only for non-SCC items. If you're looking to buy/sell something that can be produced or bought on the market, please take your business elsewhere.
2.) No spam. We prefer the casual interaction between players.
3.) Flaming and insults will not be tolerated. Maturity and Manners are appreciated at all times.
Channel: Bazaar Founders: Tzadkiel of N.A.G.A Corporation Sara Kerrigan of PAK Caleb Ayrania of Tarnec
Other dedicated loot sellers may contact us for details on joining this group.
In the past, other solo players have attempted to form new channels with a vision--all have died. But with our combined shops and knowledge, we know we can make this work. We hope to see many come by, and many more stay :) Help us to make these dreams a reality! For further details or clarification, evemail one of the founders or reply here. ______________

Edited by: Tzadkiel on 27/10/2003 20:50:40 NAGA Corp is here to echo the sentiments honestly provided by Sara of PAK. For too long now, various enterprises have perhaps gauged the business of selling ever rarer non-SCC as a fad or something to be shared between Corp mates only.
Ourselves, alongside PAK and Tarnec will strive to make this wealth of knowledge a bank of materials to be shared and used among all who care to take interest - all for the right price!
Never forget, we don't sell, we help you buy and in promoting and pursuing such a course of activity and behaviour hopefully we can all make EvE a more knowledgable and sussed out place for us all to fly in. From the MegaCorp to the one-man start-up, you are all equal in our eyes, and each client will be provided with the knowledgable and friendly service you will come to expect from the people of NAGA, PAK and Tarnec.
And so, we proudly present the Bazaar Channel, come join, come learn, come share and most importantly, come better your ship.

Bump-- it's not allowed to hit page 2 yet :P
We've still got people in the room to answer questions; of course we can't be there 24/7 but over time we'll have more people around the clock. So if you don't see us later tonight, dont fret-- we'll be back on later. ______________

You know I thought it would be a good idea if someone with a good knowledge of mod values made a basic list. I know it would be a lot of work but I bet they could get a lot of biz if they hard a standard buy/sell list price. Lot's of good stuff gets melt because don't know it's worth anything.

Make a list and within a nanosecond thirty "nub-jits" (new word) will have undercut it down to 5% less than its recycle value before you can say "Miner II market? What Miner II market?"

... Am currently working on something which is perhaps half-way to that price list thing... It's a summary of how all those different loot modules compare in terms of the stats... Once you have this info in a compact form, i figure it's somewhat easier to determine prices on different modules... o.O

Edited by: Sara Kerrigan on 28/10/2003 00:59:00 In response to the price lists, my site covers some items and NAGA Shop's site covers many others. We're continuing to update and add to both sites daily, so within time we may have everything. Problem of course being, with so many items it's difficult to keep them all updated. We make changes as needed.
Edit: There's no formula that can help price the various tiers however, because of the dynamic changes in such things as consumer demand, rarity of the drop, and also on the time spent by hunters in getting the loot. We're mostly based on experimenting with the market-- start with the highest tier, put up a price, see how it sells. Drop prices accordingly then go to the next tier and do likewise. ______________

Pfft...nice try. Though I'm sure your attempt to present this as something new and useful will pull the wool over a few nOObs.
And please...help me buy? Right, hello, I'm a sucker. Face up to it folks, you're selling and looking to make isk...help me buy.
We've already got a trade channel. No sense in diluting a centralized "bazaar" already well established. Spending 10 minutes in trade can give you a sense of the range of low and high prices on modules...primarily useful ones that aren't on the market.
Bazaar? Yes, what a bazaar idea.

... Guess the effect varies from person to person; all that spending 10 minutes in trade gives me, is tunnel vision and very itchy finger on the trigger o.O;

Good idea Sara.
For prices, I think the best, and easiest method is simply to show the range of practical prices for an item. That would allow a buyer to have a good idea of the possible cost for an item e.g. 21.9 cargos: 1m - 2M
When client asks present value, the moderator can indicate if it is high or low range due to market conditions and will prevent the 1% discount crap in order to undercut. Just have the Bazaar institute a policy to set the best fair price - doesn't have to be the lowest, but must be seen as fair. You are there for a profit, just don't try to make too much on each item and you will be very successful.
cheers

We do, in fact, have loot of our own--is there a problem in trying to sell it? But the fact is, Bazaar isn't just about us selling our stuff. It's about helping people out and giving them advice. We know we don't have everything, but we help them find someone who does. All of the founding members are corps with dedicated loot income. But that's still a limited range of equipment--when the room gets more popular, we will see more suppliers emerge to provide the filling.
First night: 1 item sold, 7 players helped with advice on equipment. It's a nice cross between trade and help without all the spam :) ______________

I really hope it works well for you.
I got to the stage of just selling "tier 1" items (even that was a chore) and not bothering to even try to sell "tier 2" and below items. That's kind of sad really because many of the tier 2 items aren't significantly worse than tier 1, but they usually sell* for ~50% of the cost of the tier 1 items.
*Well they would have done if I hadn't got fed up waiting hours for people to turn up, bumping posts on various forums, etc etc.

I'd like to explain once more the intent of the Bazaar channel.
Think of an old style marketplace... a Bazaar if you will, where you can find all sorts of oddities on the various carts and wagons. We have our sellers [those with good sized collections of various modules] sitting in the channel. You won't see us spamming some of our items; the room is all about the Buyers, not about us selling. They come in, state what they're looking for, or ask for advice on whatever. We in turn do what we can to answer all questions, and provide for sale any items we have. We can also refer people to other sellers if we don't have an item in stock.
We ask that players with just a small handful of items they're looking to unload use the Trade channel for their pasted messages instead of the Bazaar. Because like I said, the room isn't all about sellers unloading their goods--it's about the buyers getting what they need.
Granted we can't know everything or have everything in stock. So I offer this open invitation: any big-time rare module collectors or sellers, whether you be a corp or an individual, please contact myself or Tzadkiel for details on how you can be a part of this. Especially wanted are those who deal with Blasters, Energy weapons, Cargo Expanders, Propulsion.
I hope that some day the Bazaar will grow enough to encompass all classes of modules, and that it will stand out as a universal hub for casual trade. ______________

Are player created channels "moderated"
ie: can you bump someone if they are "not welcome?"
Just curious as ive a a few ideas along these lines, but without the ability to police the channel, it will eventually just turn into Trade. rev 2...
hope im wrong

According to the GMs, the mod tools are broken, will be fixed Soon(tm). Meanwhile they said I can petition to get rid of abusers. Has not be a problem yet. And of course, blocking always works.
Many thanks to everyone who has used this channel in a mature, mannered way. ______________
