Robotics has gone loco price wise - in Hek i saw an average of 90k and in Dixie today around 85k. I am just wondering why drone prices are not reflecting the increase? From memory Robotics is the most expensive element of a Hobgoblin II? Yet their price remain at 350k. Also people moaning about the taxes of PI import and export - well the market has gone and compensated this so far - as in Coolant is up to 16000 a unit. Any hit by Interbus or whoever is nicely absorbed i think.

people are burning through stockpiles, so the prices of things made from PI stuff won't spike exactly overnight ... |

The 'front-line' is spiking a bit (PI materials), but it will take a while for the downstream goods to spike. Most of the people that are building T2 items that use PI are basing their profit based on their old prices, at least until they have to start the next wave of items and/or existing stockpiles are gone. |

If you believe all the moaning on the forums, it's not worth it to make the stuff no matter the market price. Let the shock wear off. I wish I had pulled some of my WH income to stockpile POS fuel more than I had. I've got a bit over a month now, and in that time I expect some of this will settle.

Making P2 Coolant: which sells for about 12k Inputs: Water: 386 Elec: 622 Profit: 31% margin after taking import/export tariffs into account.
Robotics @ 88k market price is a 6% margin if you make it from the P2s or if you make it from P1s you'll get about 28% margins (because you skip the import/export tariff of the P2).
The other (2) P2 items used for POS fuels also have 24-28% margins as of the overnight prices.
About half of the P2s are already profitable again, just do your sums. The P3s are hit or miss and you'll need to calculate whether it is cheaper to make them from P2 or from P1. You'll need to do the same for P4s, figure out how to make them from P2s to skip import/export tariffs on P3s, or take a slightly smaller profit margin for trying to build them from P3s.
Example of a P1->P3 factory planet (which saves on tariffs): http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/Colony_Management#Barren_Planet_.28P1_to_P3_Factories.29 |

I would expect items requiring PI goods to only start to go up in price in the next week or so once, as has been said already, stockpiles start to diminish.
Also as Bob said, there is still LOTS of profit to be made, you just cannot now afford to really be overly greedy and have masses of P2-> P3 factory planets to get mass amounts of P3 goods a day. Now you have to do a P1 -> P3 for good profits. Yes the output is slower, but as it's passive and shouldn't be relied on as a sole income style anyways. Another good thing for the P1 -> P3 factory planets is they are 'fire and forget' for up to 2 days each, which if your lazy or forgetful like me (forgetful, not lazy) you have a very low chance of letting teh planets go idle.
As always Bob also has the exact link to help you out with the layouts too :P |
