Now that Cloaking Devices are all but ready () to transfer over to TranQ how about using some part of its code to make all ships appear invisible during the load up period upon jumping/warping into a new area of space
Then the instant the invulnerability period is up and/or the client-server reconciliation of data has been achieved ie: the player is once again in control of his/her ship and is fully aware of their environment the ship could visibly emerge ...
Is this a good/bad/easy to implement idea

Completely agree bud.
I am still to this day a little surprised that the ship is rendered in the system to other players before the player whose vessel it is, has actually loaded the system.
Surely, it would be better to wait until the client returned a finished-loading command, after which both clients would behave again correctly.
Yes I know this possibly gives the jumping in party more chance of first-strike or something like that, but is that not a little better then people camping jump-in points and locking and webbing people before they are even loaded?
Surely there is no fun or challenge there for the PvP'rs amoungst us?

Yup. In fact, if an advantage should go to anyone in PvP, it should be to the attackers/warpers-in. They've got the element of surprise after all, appearing out of thin air (um, vacuum I guess) at the spawn point/gate/station. Element of surprise just doesn't mean much ATM with the load lag issue.

Cool, congrats.
Oh, stupid idea by the way.

I think that the invunerability idea is not good, but instead they should make it so that the screen loads and give it a couple of seconds for the ship to load.....As it is when you jump into a system you are invunerable for a couple of seconds, thats due to interferance

One of the best ideas i have read in a long time. Nice job M8. Any way, i agree, the jump in point camping atm must be adressed, its just silly considering how jump gates work. Random jump points also seems like a good idea.

Heres my "two cents worth" ....
This game needs a balance...... both the good and the bad.
My first 5 months I played around in Empire space waiting to get "smoked" everytime I entered as system .... in fact I lost both a Scorpion and a Raven due to "loading" lag.
As you can tell by my Corporation and security status I have know changed the way I play the game and become a full paid-up pirate.
Lets be clear ... for anyone who is hard of hearing ..... sitting around "jump in" points is boring but due to the current gameplay there is "NO" other way to fight an un-willing target.
Most jump gates and stations are armed and due to "insta-jumps" they have become almost a "non combative" area.
So what is the solution ...... many people have there own ideas but mine are ....
Make Jumps in points random, no more camping and no more lag of death ........
Add warp trackers / scanners so victims can be chased ... this also included pirates ....
I would love to spend 30 mins chasing around a victim instead of this "bang" dead situation. This would also help with bounty hunters as they would be able for the first time to band together and hunt us ...
Just my point of view, nice to have an adult reply but waiting for the kids

Being dead before your screen loads I do not call a "fight".
I agree there's hardly a way to make someone put up a fight if he don't want to, but at the moment you don't even get offered the chance to fight. You're dead before you know it...
(and it has nothing to do with my hardware as both connection and PC are above average).
