with a lot of new players arriving and many horrible fits to be blown up
why not add some basic fits for certain tasks to the NPC corporation's saved fittings? New players can get some orientation on the whole fitting thing, especially in FW Corps. |

What would this solve that isn't already addressed by being able to share personal fittings?

Give them a fish and they will eat for a day. Teach them to fish and they will be fed for a life time.
Your idea just pushes the need to understand how to fit ships out a bit. You remind me of the corporate tools that try to kick various cans down the road with the 'i'll deal with it later' just to make NOW easier.
If you want' to help a new guy, then help a new guy.
"GOOGLE gank catalylst fit" gives you what you seek. You can go elite and put "GOOGLE gank catalyst fit eve online" and cut out a lot of the extra pages you'd never read. It's not like it's hard to find a pre made fit for anything at this point in human history. |

thats why I wrote "basic", you don't give them a fit for everything they can afford, fly or want to do, just a very few basic ones.
put a Nanofiber I on a shield ship, they might wonder, they might check, they might see. |

I predict this will be one of those threads where the OP hangs on for 3 pages trying to force a bad idea to be good.
Good luck with that. |

Who gets to control which fits get added and removed?
What are the chances that someone will start adding hull repper fits which if linked normally would have a chance of being shot down for being dumb, but with this system just sit there as a silent troll waiting for a hapless newbie to see it and use it?
How many fits should suffice, 2 per ship, perhaps 10, how about 30? What are the chances a newbie is going to pick the right fit out of all the options, for his specific situation?
How much use is "a fit" without an explanation or at least some guidance from the ones giving it to said newbie.
All questions and the answers are predictable, so is the outcome; it won't add anything but extra work and newbies flying even worse clown fits than they could have dreamt up themselves. |

When I see a clown fit I try to give the pilot the benefit of the doubt. Many times there are reasons. It's good to keep in mind that the ship you just ganked wasn't fit out to pvp.
Here's an example: Hyperion w/ 2 tractor beams, medium beam lazers, shield tank and cargo expanders. Clown or not clown??
Well, back in the day, I was pure gallente. I had just moved to the drone regions. Ammo was still big and drone minerals were big. Anoms diddn't exist at the time - it was get in a belt and rat or nothing. I trained up med beam lazers (large took too much grid and cap), slapped on a shield tank and blew out the cargo hold as best I could.
POOF - the most reasonable ship I could manage at the time to make isk where I was living.
Clown fit - anywhere but then and there - heck yeah.
I'm still proud of that fit, but it would look pretty bad on a loss mail.
TL/DR Be nice to noobs w/ 'clown fits' |

You want corp fittings, join a player corp. This is one of the "perks" to being in a player corp vs. NPC.

Furthermore - fitting is so subjective and situational (see Serendipity's post about "clown fits") and the EVE-O playerbase so opinionated that someone would probably shoot the monument over how best to fit that cheap and disposable ship and "If you fit it like that you're literally ********" etc etc etc.
Saved corporate fittings ARE a perk of being in a player run corp. They are (should be) designed and maintained within the operational guidelines of the corp in question. An NPC corp is counter to that meaning that there IS no operational guidelines for the corp as anyone can be in that corp and they can't be removed and there's no one calling the shots. With regard to FW, the leaders of the respective faction groups ought to have some method of publishing fits for various things but that, too, it outside the purview of an NPC corp.
Perhaps, CCP should add some notice to the saved fittings window. I.E. If player is in NPC corp and opens up the fittings browser to corp fittings a message is displayed mentioning that only player run corporations can save and use the saved corp fittings (if it already does this great).

Last clarification: I am talking about one fit per T1 frigate, maybe but rather not cruiser, maybe one industrial, and the lowest mining barge for NPC corps which can't be added by players, just CCP
If you're using corp fittings for teaching new players and you're in something other than a teaching-focussed corp, your corp is pretty ****. |

The game encourages you to be social when ever it can. If a player chooses to be anti-social and not find a group of people that can show them how to play then that's them putting a handicap on themselves. I feel no remorse for not supporting anti-social behavior in a social game.
