I was wondering what methods most players use to place a value on a corp, in order to find a valuation for stakeholders to invest.
Thanks for any suggestions or ideas. |

Because the current share system sucks valuation generally comes from the corps name brand only. It's been a big disappointment and hopefully it will be addressed in the future. |

Well let me clarify a bit. I'm not looking to hand out shares in the corp, because that system needs a revamp. But instead I'm trying to determine what the price would be for a specific % of dividends. As an example, 500m for 10% dividend monthly, that sort of thing.
Just trying to find a solid way to place investment value on the corp |

If I recall correctly, any corps that had shares ultimately ended as a scam. If I look at a corp in high regard its due to what they have done/do. For example red frog has managed to follow through on what they are suppose to do...deliver my things efficiently. Would I ever want to buy shares in RF? No |

The "price for a specific % of dividends" would rather depend on how much I trusted someone, which is a bit difficult to quantify. |

Well like I said I wouldn't be using the shares function. Current Corp holdings are at $750m in capital and materials. In December I made a 25% ROI but the lack of capital needed to expand is bottle necking my turnover. I estimate roughly 30% return moving forward until the business can expand. |

Have you given thought to taking out a small uncollateralized loan at about 10-15% interest every 30days with an investor that trusts you? This would be the easiest first step...

Yes I have thought about that, that's why I'm trying to find a reasonable isk/% ratio for the interest. But I was also looking at providing continual dividends with a lower interest rate so I don't spend a lot of my capital in repaying a loan up front. |

i would need more capital to be able to have a lower margin. ive been acquiring my materials solo, but i have two trader toons to play the market, but not enough capital to make a difference. this isnt a trader corp though. if i can acquire materials without having to play the market and find the lowest price source, i'll do that 8 days a week. so an investment would mean that the isk received would go to two areas. first, more capital to acquire the products needed. second, to work and build a network that allows me to acquire product at a decent cost. i know that building a network isnt an overnight process. so goal 1 is way more important. like i said earlier, the past month, we earned 25% ROI. lack of capital and few roadblocks that have now been resolved, were the reasons for that "minimal" return. at this point, my acquisition cost isnt as low as it should be, and more capital to corner my tiny market would change 25% to 30-40% or more.
I'll gladly share the business plan with someone that is serious about investing. i know that its probably not a new idea. nothing in eve is at this point. however, i own my own business, and this post was meant to find a way to value this corp, because a RL business is a different story altogether. |

im not going to share any info on how my corp makes isk, with someone that is just asking questions. a RL understanding of business practices, should tell you that things like acquisition cost, product turnover and overhead do actually mean something. so eve investors who don't understand those concepts, i will gladly turn down, yet be grateful that they showed interest. i didnt start this thread to find investors. i started it to see how values were placed on loans or investments. i see so many loans out there worth billions, with only a 15-20% interest rate but i have no idea how that corp, whatever it is, was valued at that price.
that was all i was asking. |

In this forum, the vast majority of investment is done through very simple loans. Corp valuation doesn't enter in to it.
But since you mention "many" loans at "15-20% interest rate" I have to assume you are not talking about this forum. |

None of that matters for becoming rich in EVE through trading. Nobody values their corporation like that because that's simply not how it works in EVE, you're not really investing in a corporation most of the time, but a single person who can very easily run away with your money and have little repercussions for themselves.

Values of loans is dependent of the hard information you give the prospective investors, and your past fulfilled obligations. Only those two things matter. I was thinking about valuing my corp like that. I read something about brand names above. I have a brand name! Casual Tea.

Anyways. Value on corp is 90,000,000,000 Where are my inevestors?

The stock-exchange valuation of the shares in Eve is a delicate subject. We dont have any financial tool, control tool which would allow it could intend to value the shares of a corporation. For lack of a common accounting standard it is impossible to calculate the profits of a corporation because of the maturity of the players with regard this subject.
Quote: - Do you take account the loss of your xx capes ship and the costs of your fleets and infrastructure for the defense of this one in production costs POS? " - Do you take account the risks of probability inferred in the productions with random factors? - Do you establish a cost accounting?
We could list a number of points of the same kind and fill pages and pages in the forum to dither on the questions....
The control: how to check the publication of corporation account , an another delicate point . The gameplay does not allow at the moment of manage the system of stock-exchange quotation for share based on any notion of profitability or other reliable indicator(informer). Just he would allow to quote the shares and still the large amount of existing corporation would make an otherr crazy system... While can we wait furthermore that a speculative system bases on the scam (that are hardly better stock markets irl since speculative of the traders overrode the rest (cf Forex and others) and that prosper the corporation which optimize (ftamper) balance assessments,(underestimating the made profit c and so conning the small shareholders for the benefit of the senior executives staff)?
For lack of a system of quotation what I regret, for my part (I have 950 000 shares 1m per share to be sold, ... it, is necessary to raise funds to speculate )
you can always make attractive plaques/poster to attract the customer so that he adheres to your business plan (scam ^^), and post on a forum and to make a private sale of share to attract again investor for your ghost corporation Then once the raised funds, to close the corporation to recreate an other one...
And that the one who speaks about the quotation of alliance whipped, because he goes away human organizations: corporation, and especially of alliance, as clones, everything returns to the biomass ..
An Jovian wrote on a tablet: " si tent+¬ que j'existe, je ne suis qu'+¬ph+¬m+¿re par essence l'est bien plus mon empire par substance..".
Dixit that the trust is one of the basic rules of the economy, in Eve it is an extremely expensive luxury;) lol
