Edited by: Blank Protection on 17/10/2006 04:44:57 Edited by: Blank Protection on 17/10/2006 04:43:53 I must say it was possible yesterday for me to run some missions and it were difficult ones. I even hit the jackpot a view times and i earned at least 72 milion ISK for running only two LVL 3 missions. But it amost cost my raven. I never had to go back to station so much times because of the lag. Game was freezing all the time, really absurd. My periode of playing stops at 2 november and i have cancelled my subscreption now for sure. Going to set "Tactical shield manipulation lvl 5" skill a view days before an jump out off the game for a coupple of months. It will take more than a month to train that skill so than it will be already half december. Im sure its not getting better before the end of the year so i`m picking up playing at least after the winter.
Today game play realy s u c k s. No, absolutly no fun at all, one big frustration.
Maybe i will back in july, time for some BF 2 now. No lag and now loose of money and stuff and lots and lots of fun and laughting.
Cya ppl have fun and watch out for the " LAG".

ok, now, after all this pages of unhappy customers, we know that they really don't care about people... if someone can provide a website, we can do a real petition, and send it to them, as they really don't care to respond; it's time to do something... you can post al the pages you want, you'll not have responses, cause they think that we are stupids, and deserve no explanations.. and look at the title of the eve magazine they forgot some letters, you must read "BIGGEST SERVER ISSUES" :p "As we pay for this game, we make it live.... dont forget it CCP" http://www.eve-online.com/eon/

Sukurnanghaa, as thoughtful and insightful as that idea is, it's not going to do any good. You'll come out of the situation feeling angry and hurt because all the hard work involved will go unnoticed.
Yes, boys and girls, Enki's back.... after what's it been now a MONTH of refusing to read this post? Hi Sylthi, glad to see you're still in anger management, and Hellos to you Grez; sad to see the optimism still hasn't done anything for your receding hairline.
I think one of the really stabbing points of this whole ordeal, and a few people have touched on it, is: our characters are taking the real brunt of the situation. The economy of Eve is really in the toilet right now, and I don't think I'm out of line by saying that the long stretch of bad playability is the cause of it.
I'd like to offer this as an example, if I may: I'm a ship retailer, builder, etc. I also have a small delivery / security transport service for running valuable smaller cargo. I'm not going to complain about how many ships I've lost due to dropped connections, how many lost due to lag... although retail is pretty paper thin right now, losing a 165 mil faction cruiser right after picking it up isn't exactly all that happy of an occasion, I can assure you. But, that's already been covered.
Within the last month and a half, I've seen a booming ship retail business retard to less than 1/3 the income potential it once was. The people I commonly deal with have really started pinching pennies when it comes to frivilous expenditure (kind of a ****er, since I deal in mostly faction rarities). Unless you're dealing in battleships exclusively, it's almost not worth the effort anymore, as ships, modules, etc, will sit on escrow for weeks, at reasonable prices, unbought. A lot of people have been unable to run missions, unable to conduct business as usual because of an unacceptable ammount of playability issues, and since it all rolls downhill, the economy suffers from that exclusively.
It's taking the RPG out of MMORPG. When you take away the beauty of this game, take away the awards for best pvp, and the ideology of it, you're left with one conclusion:
We are at the point where Eve has become an expensive chatroom with some really nice scenery.
Still hanging in there, still trying to be optimistic, but wow.... well over a month and still no impovement.... If CCP was like any other company, a lot of people would be standing in the unemployment line right now.
Good luck everyone. I'll p0ke my bunny ears in here again in a month or so and we'll all reminisce about 'hey remember how good we had it a month ago, when we only had 30 seconds of lag to warp out? lol'.
Peace.

I really don't see what you people are complaining about.
I'm Australian on a crummy ADSL line and with the exception of Jita, I have never had any of the issues people are describing. I don't get module lag, I don't lag out in Complexes or Missions, my ship loss petitions always get answered and I have gotten every single one of my ships back.
I've only ever had 3 CTD's and one of them was from WMP having a hissy fit, which minimized EVE which then didn't want to full-screen again.
I even play 2 accounts on the 1 machine for a few hours at a time and the worst I get is Graphical glitches from my Graphics Card overheating... And for anyone that is wondering, my computer is 3 years old.
Intel PIV 2.6Ghz 1Gig RAM (Generic) 256MB Radeon 9600 Random Gigabyte MoBo that was good at the time. Realtek AC'97 Onboard SoundCard
So really, I'm playing on a Sub-Par Net Conn with a computer in dire need of an upgrade with no module activation lag, no system lag, Ultra-Rare CTD's, Playable NPC missions, Playable Complexes, etc.
The only thing my Computer can't handle is Gate Camps with 30+ ships & Bubbles, plus it also has a small hissy-fit when exiting warp (Which I'm told is normal for most people)
Are you sure that you OMGWTFBBQers with your uber-l337 Firewalls of DOOM!, Routers of Mass Destruction and Americain ISP Filtration Services aren't just making the game suck for you and causing errors to CTD!?!?
Also remember, not even 480 people have complained about the "Issues" you are talking about... That's not even 2% of the EVE Community, this thread is still in it's 'Minority' form, so how do we know that you people aren't just those freak statistical annomilies that come from corrupted DLs, etc, etc?

The server issues are known since a time allready, thx for the different guys tryin to remind them, but, there's so much of it that will take too much time.. i think that just say, like our mate upon, "that don't work, that become awfull, bla bla bla" is purely useless. we point to server issues, like when you warp in a mission, and the lag stuck you, and you die, or the rats warp with you, continuing of shooting you... this is some server issues.. please, stop sayin useless things like, my computer, your computer, and other things like that, don't investigate anymore on your poor computer, let him alone... the issues are on the server side... on this morning... two server crashes... lag of 6 seconds/ (stop thinkin in australia, at my home, on the moon, i have no lag... you are not on a peek of connection, try another time, and see). after these few explanation, let's see the reel problem, YEAH THERE'S A BIGGER PROBLEM THAN SERVER ISSUES... the lack of any responses of CCP... some people will answer, they haven't the time to... we love CCP... bla bla bla.... stop it, go loose your time on another topic.. it's just irrespectuous to not throw a word, to inform the players about what they are doin, or not.. that don't take hours to, and that will have surely a positive effect on the unhappy people, cause everyone like eve here, and everyone want to know that the game will go better in a few... A lot of people feel that silence like an offense and irrespect.. if these issues continue 6 months more, will you not say, "he was right", if that happend, don't talk to me.... and why open a topic about server issues if it isn't to talk about.. i don't wait any response, i just ay what i think, in the case you haven't allready understand and my other posts.
and keep in mind the community opinion, and ideas, "multiply lvl 4 agents, move some...", lot of people have good ideas, just hear them, simply...

Getting kicked to desktop about every 3-4 gate jumps while traveling. Happens when jumping, not an ISP prob.
Then you log back on, get warped right back to the gate with no cloak time to set the next destination. Bad deal.
Also, for the first time since starting in 2004, I was waiting at a gate as number 5 in the cue!
Good thing I wasn't at war and trying to run!

CCP will not respond, simply because they have no answer to it. They have 2 options. To spend money on improving the content of the game, or spend money on improving the quality of the gameplay.
I would imagine CCP brings in around 400k a month, just in players...and that is a complete guess. I for one don't understand how a company is making that much money and having so many problems paying for the bandwidth and computer power for 30,000 people.
It is just a business decision for them Im sure. If they keep adding patches/expansion, people will remain interested. If they don't they will lose business.
The same goes for the lag problems.
They made up their minds that they would lose "less" people if they added content, rather than fix bugs.
It is a halfass way to approach a business. My father said if you can't do something right, don't do it at all.
It would be like building a car that only starts half the time you try, but instead of fixing that problem, you decide to change the paint, and put some 24" spinners on it...lol

While I do am on the same line that the game is lagging way too much at the moment to be playable in a joyfull way, I must also add to the expenses listed above. You probably have some Tax on it, salarys, rent of office space, coffee machines (;)), advertising.
But as pretty much all companies out there, they do it for the money, but my faith in CCP is that they do care for us players alot more than other game developers out there.
As for the lag issues, I'm quite sure it would be less lag if the world would be split into two as in other games, say wow. But having all these people on same server is something that's pretty unique to Eve and I'm guessing they need to make the path for it to work themselves, and not able to look at competitors.
One can just hope that this will be sorted anytime soon with yet another hardware upgrade.

LOOK ANYWHERE to see the many, MANY problems this hopelessly fracturing game is having. After over 18 month's of playing I've experienced them all. And this last month since the "dragon" patch... heh, shoulda called it the "dragon" curse....for all the disconnects and lag it's brought me
REALLY starting to reconsider my subscription.

I'm going to add a few thoughts.
Yes, CCP cares. Thats why they are installing new servers and such. I'm sure they are quite aware that EVE cannot handle the player base it now has. The economy can't either, but that's another story.
As far as people leaving, honestly that's exactly what EVE needs. Less people. Alliance wars are a joke. Nothing but lag fests. If half of EVE left, I'd be a happy man. I have no idea what you're talking about. My posts are filled with nothing but the utmost faith and respect to all things CCP. CRAP! Can't even type it with a straight face!!
Actually, you know what CCP REALLY needs? Seriously. You know what they need? Competition. Pure and simple. If there was another sci-fi based ship combat game out there, that was even partially as good, we wouldn't have a good portion of these problems. We've got nowhere else to take our MMO starship combat needs, and CCP knows it. What they need is a good HARD kick in their complacency. Just my two cents, and my latest input into my anger management.
