Looks like this might be more of an issue then just your account. I get it now too when I could log on just fine yesterday and my account should be fine. |

Yes and I asked a friend of mine to log on SiSi but he couldn't get into either.
However I just logged of from TQ, so my account looks fine.

A bunch of people in my corp are having this issue as well.
"There was an error while validating your account, please try again.."
The launcher log doesn't show anything obvious as a problem.
Logging in using the exefile.exe as a workaround appears to be successful.

For anyone else like me who didn't know what this workaround is, here it is:
In the "bin" folder inside the folder that the SiSi client is installed to, there is the file exefile.exe. It has to be run with the option /server:singularity
So, for example, the following command entered into the run box worked for me: c:\evetest\bin\exefile.exe /server:singularity
I hope that helps anyone who didn't know this workaround. |

I didn't think about this to be honest. There was that sound thing that happened when you were not using the launcher.

Please try to clear your launcher cache (Launcher Settings - Cache - Clear all cached data), if you get the error "There was an error while validating your account, please try again..???". It seems like an old version of the launcher webpage is still cached somehow after updating it yesterday.
We are still investigating in why this happened (this data should not be cached for so long...)

This seemed to happen after I replaced my Eve client in my Sisi folder with my just patched Eve client in my TQ folder.
Note: There is still a way to work around this issue though. Launch Evefile.exe from \bin directly, if the clear cache doesn't work. |

This fixed it. And up until yesterday I had no idea that the launcher even has a cache .

You really should fix all these references you have to asking us if we want to "restart" something....because it never does....we always have to wait and manually re-open everything ourselves.
Also, apparently "clear cache" also means reset ALL settings...i don't remember other programs or even the client itself acting like that. |

Nope, clearing the cache only further broke my launcher.... it would briefly blink when opened and then go immediately unresponsive, hour glass even mousing over any part of the window. If I tried to interact with the window or click on something else on my computer I would be greeted by a greyed over launcher with a prompt saying it wasn't responding.
So I tried patching it back to TQ, and it seems to work fine, so its not the install, and the launcher itself seems to be working when directed to TQ. But only hangs when I try to tell it to connect to Sisi. After that I thought maybe it was because my Sisi shortcut had an IP address in the server option, so I set it back to Singularity, still no dice.
How does one fix this? For the time being I can't even connect back to Sisi because the files are patched for TQ now after trying to repair the launcher, even trying to use the evefile.exe workaround, incompatible build or somesuch. I don't want to have to start completely from scratch on my Sisi install. |

Nope, still no go.... I just made a new copy of Sisi for kicks and giggles because what else am I doing on a Friday night waiting for my soccer game to start in a couple hours... still getting the exact same hang upon opening the launcher when it is directed at Singularity.
To re-clarify, I can double click the eve launcher, and it opens and starts patching to TQ. But when it is directed towards Sisi, hang. Guess I won't have to worry about CCP ignoring feedback since I can't get connected to give proper feedback as requested. |

Upon clearing my cache and restarting the SiSi launcher, it took a while (a long while) to do a re-validation of the client and then a very long while to create a patch. The patch itself seems to have downloaded quickly enough, but encountered an error. Now every time I attempt to start the SiSi launcher it re-attempts the patch update it also ends with that same error, the report for which seems to deal extensively in Minmatar Station interiors. There may be potential for some jokes here.
I am able to launch the client via the error message's "Start EVE" button, which brings me to the client's login screen where I can progress into the game as normal. I can undock and see the new UI skin and fly about and all of that, though I'm a bit hesitant to dock in any Minmatar stations. |
