"***IF YOU LOST A SHIP DUE TO THE PATCH, FILE A STUCK PETITION***" quoted directly from the help channel. I have been waiting for a pettition to be answered for about 2 weeks or so. I know thats not long compared to the months others wait. But WTF ccp?
How is losing a ship due to the server crashes 2 weeks ago ( and there better damn well be logs because they crashed 3 days in a row ) any different from losing a ship now due to the patch.
Losing a ship due to server crashes = people dont know the server is going to crash. Losing a ship due to new patch = people should know and expect problems to pop up and be extra careful.
Thats just fkin BS to put them ahead of others.

Let me explain.
The unscheduled server downtime last night caused ships that were in the process of undocking, docking or jumping to get the wrong status flag. This will cause the pilot to become stuck unless and the ship to vanish. Given the scale of the issue and how simple it is for us to fix it (moving you to a nearby system or simply toggling the flag back) we are answering these cases in the stuck category. Any petitions filed in the stuck category regarding other losses will be moved to the appropriate category.

Anywords...
I have been waiting patiently, for 3 weeks, for reimbursement due to a bug/server crash...
But now ill have to wait longer, while you guys sort out these people first.
Exactly which part of this is fair? Ive waiting my turn, patiently...

Fix a few hundred people who can't play the game at all, or one person who can play just fine but is a few ISK short?
Hmm, let me think which should take priority. ________________________________________________

Being stuck != Reimbursing ship loss.
Unstick the char, and give them a shuttle...
Thats what the rest of us have had to do.

I'm fine with the situation now that it has been explained, but I dont think you quite read what spiral said. He said people would become stuck unless, then apparently forgot what he was doing and skipped "they jettisoned", and the ship vanishes.
In which case, they are able to play; however, they are out a ship. Which is no different than our situation, except for the fact that CCP thinks its easier to take care of them since they know exactly what happend en mass.

Well, I myself have had one more than a month about a crash any my hulk. A Gm, (think it was spiral) told me to post in stuck, i posted there, got a quik note saying they got my first petition and havent heard from them since. Im curious, how hard is it to look in records, see my ship died then escrow me a new one? Not much, but like I said in the last forum which got deleted for reasons unkown, a sizeable chunk of a year is a long time to wait.

there is currently more than 5000 petitions, and only a handful of people to get through them
PATIENCE!
being #4999 to lament the loss of your ship due to a server crash on the forums doesn't help anyone

Bah, even worse thing happen to my corpmate. He went to SS and logged before patchday. When he logged in, he was in the station, and his ship went missing. Went to the same ss spot, it's gone... my other corpmate already tried looking for it with scan probes, nil... nada... somehow it dissapear into oblivion... ---------

Since when is your ship dying because EvE crashed worthy of a replacement? It could have been your OS. Your hardware. Your router. Your ISP. The EvE client. Spyware. Another program running on your computer. Your dog chewing on a cable.
Theres a reason the queue is so big. Any guesses what that reason could be?

Edited by: kirjava on 23/08/2006 12:35:07 I understand we must wait and I am being patient, my concern is at the wait time we have gone through for this and many are still going through. Another month and il repetition it probably. This will hopefully have been fixed by dragon, but if not perhaps CCP should consider more staff perhaps? If there is a growing number of petitions as they sift through them, they weill never finish the pile. Supply and demand all over again.
Infinity, my concern is not with how i lost my ship, its the fact I have had no update or answer. Of course if it was server side I would like a new ship, but if it sint then I would like a new one. Not too much to ask eh?
