Tax rate shows on POCO info, but there is no way to get that without being in-system and in-space (POCOs don't show in the orbital info).
So if there is a way, I've not figured it out yet. |

Neocom menu/Social/Corporation/Assets/In Space/System where the POCOs are and then right click on the POCO and Configure.
Should work this way. Some time ago I did that this way. Hope it helps! |

It's not looking like it's possible currently so I think I'll suggest a new feature to CCP.

Oh sorry. I thought you want to set tax rate on your own pocos. I did a little research and no you cant check tax rate on pocos remotely. I hoped CREST API could do this but no it cant But it would definitely be a nice feature :-) |

You can check the settings of your own POCOs using the corp/CustomOffices endpoint, however at this time we will NOT allow you to see other custom office settings unless you go to the system.

No as this would be offering a very large amount of intel. To know standings you need to know who owns it, and being able to just look up where a corporation has all their POCOs is not something we want to offer.

A fellow corpie asked me about this as well. I see where CCP Sox.........erm.........FoxFour is coming from now. I suppose it's like when we used to be able to view other capsuleers standings with the other empires & NPC corporations. Although I really mourned the passing of that facility.
Regarding finding POCOs with lower tax rates in high sec it is still possible to find tax rates as low as seven or eight percent including the effect of level five in the customs office tax skillbook. They tend to get taken over or destroyed by the nullsec cartels though if they are spotted after which extortionate taxes get introduced. Or you can try and negotiate better rates with existing POCO owners.
On balance I feel the introduction of POCO in high sec was a bad move but we are stuck with it now.

Settings would be understandable to make public, but the issue is that POCO ownership and tax is already public information if you want to go to a said system to check. What was originally asked was if that public information can be seen when not in system and if not have it added, given that it is public information there would be no real conflicts of interest outside of making obvious targets obvious even faster. |

There is a world of a difference between knowing that a corporation may or may not own POCO's and getting a full world map with all their POCO's highlighted for your convenience. Issue is not so much the tax as that to know the tax you need to display the owner(standing uised to set taxes). Bit like having all moon goo stats(correctly) available on the star map rather than having to go out and scan them yourself(and third party sites can probably be found in both cases but those are unsanctioned and probably do not contain all or even correct information) |

What about the POCO tax rate only (without identifying ownership information)? Such as how the industry system cost index can be found in the star map.
Seems like it could be a content generator -- people would migrate to cheaper tax rates or attack cheaper competition in their area. Owners could offer low rates to attract tenants -- and then jack up the rate just like real landlords.

You could show tax remotely if you showed all the different tiers(good standing, neutral, bad standing, etc), without showing which one applies to you, that way you would avoid people using alts with different standing settings to see which offices light up. So you can see that there are good/bad offices, but you have to visit them to see if they are good/bad for you.
Supposedly someone could figure out which stations belong to somone if they have some odd pattern to how they set the tax tiers, but it would just be a hint not a fact as if you displayed the full info |

There is actually 2 bits of private information here, the different tax rates for different standings, and then what standings they have set for you.
Show info will just show the tax rate for YOU without revealing either of these specifically.

True so showing all tiers remotely and then visiting the poco in question would let you know what standing they had set towards you, and showing just your tax remotely would open up for the alt shenanigans were you get different results on some pocos. In other words damned if you do and damned if you don't. guess remote viewing just wont happen.

Not that I have vested interest here, but I'm still not sure why this can't be done. I don't know anything about how the end points work but I'm guessing they are just straight data dumps. I'm also guessing that there is almost no real processing of any information on the portals end either. It seems to me that this particular question would need to have processing done on the information before hand (aka player sends portal question based on his info and portal shoots out answer) and that is the real reason its not getting done. It seems to me that the ultimate end game for any portal would be to provide players with any information in game at their disposal, out of game available as well. This would likely entail a whole new framework needing to be devised and built. But EVE isn't a flash in the pan game. In other words this would be a great goal to aspire too in 10 years...

Except you have to fly there. There is a big difference between flying to a system and seeing who owns the POCO and it's settings versus having an API that tells you where everyone's POCO is in the whole universe.

Very true that there is a big difference in having an API give all the information and having to fly there but I am not talking about having an API for this I am talking about being able to show info on a POCO from any distance to it in game. On the note of APIs why is it then that dotlan has API calls that say what system DED sites are in given that those are cosmic signatures that have to be scanned by the players then? |
