Do you have too much ISK? Is your wallet bogged down with messy blue coins?
Before we start, a quick TL;DR of an actual ISK sink ISK removed from game to NPC's is a sink. Items destroyed only removes the item, NOT the ISK. Thread to expand on your knowledge
The idea: Percentage based tax is scaled to the characters wallet.
Q: Wouldn't a person just send ISK to a friend or another character to bypass? A: They could, but it would go as example 1.
Q: Why? A: Deflation.
Q: Would this deflate as expected? A: Mathematically, it would. Mentally, most people would not adjust which is another point why it might not work.
Example 1 - Character A has 1 Billion ISK. He wishes to buy a plex to continue his ISK/Material faucet ratting. He plunks down 790 Million with 201.6Million to spare after worst case senario 4% tax. Now, the NPC transaction tax is now scaled to the percentage of the order + his wallet. Which would take the same amount of tax from the total of your wallet.
If character A only needed 450 million to buy a plex, it theoretically would take less time out of your day to make said ISK for this plex. Possibly A noobie easier to get into the game without literally slaving over his 21 day trial.
Well done stats on ISK sinks and faucets
This is all coming from a coffee less morning thought. I don't see it going far but the discussion interests me. As with any human, we must map out everything for the sake of living. So what happens when you put the same aspect in a game with random events?-áThey go nuts trying to figure out how to predict and map out everything. |

The last time I heard CCP Eyjog talking about the economy, he didn't seem worried about inflation - or at least, not worried enough to warrant fancy things and complicated sliding taxes.
If you're worried about income being too much, just ask CCP to increase research/manufacturing costs and decrease highsec incursion payouts. |

Damn those carebears and their need to have wallets as fat as their ships engine. I agree but don't think that would do too much. As with any human, we must map out everything for the sake of living. Economies are slow and touchy things. You don't need to do too much. At least not all in one go. Make a change, watch the effects, decide what (if anything) needs to be done next, repeat. |

this sounds more like an isk toilet... I don't know anyone who thinks they have too much isk. -á-á- remove the cloaked from local; free intel is the real problem, not-á "afk" cloaking-á-

I feel like the ISK situation is in a much better place since the gigantic manufacturing and invention ISK sink was put into place...
I would like to see actual hard numbers, but I would be willing to bet the inflow to outflow ratio is much better now. |
