Does EVE support dx11? I know it's available as an option in the launcher, however whenever I start the client, using the launcher or the bypass, it's always running in dx9. Yes, DX11 is supported, so if you have a DX11-compatible GPU, it should work fine. CCP Maxwell - QA Engineer - Team RnB |

I'm running ATI Radeon HD 5840 GPUs which are dx11 compatible, however every time I launch the client when I pull up the FPS Monitor it says I'm running dx9. Any way to fix this? Ok, I've tried everything I can think of on this system and I'm still drawing a blank here. I fired up EVE on my laptop (Win 8.1 Pro, Intel HD Graphics 4000) just to use as a test and the launcher correctly switched between dx9 and dx11. I tried repairing the EVE install on my desktop, and it still won't switch from dx9 to dx11. I'm running two ATI Radeon HD 5870 cards with CrossFireX enabled and I verified that dx11 is installed and working properly using both dxdiag.exe (results here) and I also ran the system through Unigine Heaven Benchmark 4.0 (result here). I may have the same problem as you. Have you tried launching game through bin\exefile.exe? Check fps monitor after that. |

I've been running the game through both the launcher and the exe (mainly I use the exe and only run the launcher whenever I need to patch).
Ok, did some more fiddling with it and somehow I managed to fix it. It seems that for whatever reason the launcher wasn't saving the dx version wherever the client looks for it (guessing registry value because the xml file was being updated with each change previously). The only thing I changed was that I ran the launcher as an administrator, and after that the client started running in dx11. For months i have been trying to fix this issue. I have a dx11 gpu, current dx11 version, fresh install of eve. Before the phobe patch i had consistent 40fps. Now 11-20max. and still Stuck saying dx9. Launcher settings say that my pc only supports dx9. Game is getting totaly unplayable unless i switch to total potato mode. any ideas? BESIDES the get a new pc option. No way im replacing a 1 year old machine that used to run eve just fine on full settings. |

Finally after months of messing with eve settings, drivers, etc, i figured out the source of the fps loss. It is the dang ui it self. If i close chat's, and hide the neocom, it literally adds 20-25fps to the game. If i hit ctrl-f9 and just hide the ui totally as in screenshot mode.... My pc that gets stuck at 11-20 fps post phobe, gets 60-70 fps...... Maybe the ui revamp will fix it??? any word from a dev on this issue by chance? |
