I just bought a Microsoft Surface pro 3 256 Gb i7.
had to figure out some video settings, but it works totaly fine. Thanks to the pen, you can actually see the small buttons, even if they are quite small. I would prefer a lesser resolution, so that a few buttons get bigger. I would not use the Surface to PvP.
On best grafik settings, i get a fps of 20, boosting up to 35 if need be thanks to the prossesor turbo. Even so, let me say that eve did not feel fragmentet at fps 20, since it only dropped to save power when sitting at one spot/station. On low settings i get an easy 60 fps sec.
So Eve on surface works fine, but i would not recomend it to pvp. By the way, it feels genius to just control all of eve with a pen.
One last thing, while moving a window (f.eks. inventory) the window follows quite slowly for some reason. Radial options also don't show up on icons of the overview.
Please feel free to ask questions, i will then check them out on my surface and come back to you.
Best regards Barndu Exiled Tech Space Monkey Protectorate [SMP]
PS. This schould have been a post responding to https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=349253 I didn't notice that it was locked before i sent it in. I will let the stand here, so that there is actually some information regarding EVE on a surface pro 3 i7 |

Thanks for the post. I've been considering one myself. Not primarily for Eve, but it's always nice to know how well it runs on it :) |

While a paved driveway will help you manage drainage better, thereby reducing the effects of soil erosion, it will also reduce the number of stones available to you to throw at scallywag kids that won't get off your lawn....

Just because it's MS buying a surface rubs me the wrong way.
Does anyone know if Eve run on an iPad?
Edit: I see it's the fancy one for 2k... Way too much for my budget. I would hope for that price is would run Eve perfectly... |

All I know is, I have a perfectly functional custom PC and two year old laptop. Together, they serve all my needs, and I'm not buying hardware just for the sake of doing what everyone else is doing. I am cool enough without owning a tablet tyvm. GÇ£Some capsuleers claim that ECM is 'dishonorable' and 'unfair'. Same here except for a year old laptop and a desktop that's about 5 years old. I would like to have something more portable than my Asus 17" G75.

still the pro1 pro2, and cheaper versions of the pro3. Eve runs on all of them. and I don't even know how many third party ones that can.
I feel like eve almost works on a touch screen. Although the client doesn't expect touch at all it becomes unpredictable when you use touch. I would think pve and most in station activities would work pretty well. You can trust me, I have a monocole |

Oh shoot, my desktop is 5 years old or so. I've just managed to upgrade almost everything in that time span
and I didn't have a laptop for a few years, so fancy tablet seemed like it would be a decent idea. Kinda wish I waited for the pro3, but I've used my pro 1 a ton. Can't wait to see what comes out in the next few years. You can trust me, I have a monocole |

In march my gaming notebook broke down. I was pondering the alternatives. In april I got my Toshiba z10-t with a Haswell i7. It's completely sufficient for what I usually do in EVE when not at home.
Next year I'm going to scrap my now 6 year old desktop and get me a new one for gaming. Goodbye gaming notebooks o7. Remove insurance. |

I've got EVE installed on an Asus T100 tablet / laptop hybrid. The specs are as follows:
1.07 kg / Windows 8.1 / RAM 2048 MB / GPU Intel HD Graphics / 10.1 in / Quad core 1.33 GHz (turbo boosting to 1.73GHz) / Processor model Atom Z3740 / 11 hours battery life (7 odd running EVE).
Runs EVE pretty well on low settings (30FPS) and all for around -ú300 a year ago. I'm not going to use it for PvP but for small stuff its great.
Ironically the GPU does DX11 mode and yes you read that right its an Atom processor passively cooled. These are far better than the old atoms that couldn't do out of order calculations (hence terrible performance), these new ones can.
Couple of caveats: If you can get the 64GB version; do. I could only get the 32GB one here so had to resort to using a SD card and making it into a virtual drive so it would let me install programs onto it (EVE, dropbox etc). Also I can't use the launcher, when I need to update I have to use the repair exe but thats no big issue.
Regards,
Ara. |

Have used a Intuos tablet and pen for eve many times its relaxing and it all works unlike the OP's issues with radials etc, all works fine after all the pen and its buttons and tip are just that of a mouse in pen form.
If you have issues with speeds of dragging windows that will be down to the emulation type used mouse or pen normally with tablets that you have chosen/sensitivty etc etc.
