Following the deployment of Hyperion 1.3 on September 2 we discovered an issue with the Mac client: While the EVE Launcher starts correctly for the Mac client, it is not possible to log into Tranquility at the moment.
The bug has been identified already and the devs are working on a fix. Unfortunately it will take some time to test and deploy this fix. As soon as more information is available, we will update this thread. Please not that this bug affects only the Mac client.
We apologize for this issue and the inconvenience caused by this bug. CCP Phantom - Senior Community Representative - Volunteer Manager |

According to the thread in the Mac sub forum it's been happening for at least a few DTs, with no fix...
It's just seems like all Mac clients rather than a few... There is no such thing as a fair fight...

Possible work around, credit to Yagnori for finding this.
It seems something is looking for COMPUTERNAME to be set.
export COMPUTERNAME='...' then relaunching worked for me

They did test it...
Apparently it broke some clients on the 29th... And now it's been rolled out to the rest of us...

export COMPUTERNAME=`hostname -f`;open /Applications/EVE\ Online.app |

I am sure the dev department is on it.
At the same time could you give use a rough estimate of the time window required to do the job?
Thank you in advance. |

Crap happens, but when it does, I'm glad you are working on it quickly.
This is the first time in a year that my client has been broken. So while it's frustrating, in general the Mac client is quite good. Come Win At Eve - Join The Vendunari

In the meanwhile I would like to point to a potential workaround: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4978791#post4978791 CCP Phantom - Senior Community Representative - Volunteer Manager |

Alright the linux solution works on mac also. Just make sure to run the launcher from same terminal you ran "export" on.
So open terminal, export, then cd to launcher folder and ./launcher |

Yesterday i lost a 100mil ship because of game freeze and when i reconnected i was in pod. Some days ago, the server was inaccessible for a full day. There is always bugs, all the time and of course it is never ccp fault, and when you ask for a refund because you lost a ship because of their socket close bugs and others, they don't reply or say no. And we are paying them for this. If it is so buggy and unplayable, stop making pay peoples, make it open source |
