Every time I attempt to log on, it gives me an error message saying that either I have no internet connection (which i do) or that the server address or port number is wrong. I can not access the patch info, news and support tabs on the login screen; they brink up a blank window saying "URL error". This has been going on for 2 days now.
I have attempted to use the eve repair tool, but it said nothing was wrong. I have yet to resort to a re-install, as I don't want to have to wait for 5 hours to download the client all over again.
My current operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2, in case it matters. |

Same problem here. Checking status takes ages and then I mostly get a Status: Unknown. If I do get a Status: Ok logging in usually results in Connection to the server was lost or Socket was closed. One time I even got the message that there was an update for the client which I didn't get two hours ago when I did manage to log in for a few minutes.
I checked my connection and I have an average of 50ms and no packet loss or errors. EvE Repair didn't do anything for me. I do not use WiFi but a hard-line and outside of EvE my internet connection is working like a charm. I run on Windows 7 64bit. |

Try and remove EVE.EXE and/or EXEFILE.EXE from the Windows Firewall exception list (or any other firewall software you might have installed) and then try again. Windows Firewall should prompt again that EXEFILE.EXE is trying to access the internet, and allowing it again should allow it to work normally. GM Xamother | Senior Game Master |

O.k guys, it appears i was having the same problem but the solution for me (and hopefully you) is quite simple. Its all to do with poxy firewalls, I run McAfee anti-virus and for some reason it appears to of taken upon itself to block eve from being allowed permission on my computer.
Step 1: open up McAfee internet security suite. Step 2: there should be a tab which says FIREWALL, status being on. Click on this and then click settings. Step 3: There should be a new list of tabs in the bottom box. Click on "Internet connections for programs" Step 4: Scroll down till you find eve, On my computer it said BLOCK so i pressed edit and changed it to FULL access. Step 5: Cross fingers, click on eve and if problems are solved jump in air and click feet together. (alternative step 5) Cross fingers, click on eve and if problems still persist throw computer out window and cry into hands.
Hopefully this should work on most anti-virus related problems as it has worked for me.
Good Luck |

EDIT: I am now even more confused. Using Command Prompt I am able to both ping the server with 0% loss and get it to respond repeatedly. It seems that other people have this or a very similar problem, so it isn't just my computer. I attempted to edit prefs.ini to get in through the other port, except that prefs.ini doesn't exist, when it should. This just gets stranger and stranger.
Trust me.....its your fire wall... happened to me to... so i turned it off...now i can log in!! |

Your fire wall is blocking it ......you need to turn off windows firewall ....and any other firewalls you might have installed!

I have the same problem. TQ status unknown. It was working 1 hour ago. I have just installed a GTX560 Ti and rebooted a couple of times. All networking is fine apart from my connection to TQ. I have turned off my firewall. I have reset my TCP/IP stack. I have flushed the DNS. CMD ping and trace gives general failure:
C:\Users\>ping 87.237.38.200
Pinging 87.237.38.200 with 32 bytes of data: General failure. General failure. General failure. General failure.
Ping statistics for 87.237.38.200: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),
C:\Users\>tracert 87.237.38.200
Tracing route to srv200-g.ccp.cc [87.237.38.200] over a maximum of 30 hops:

What am I missing? |
