1-No, in fact im cancelling my 2nd account and taking a break 2-I am a leader when i play EvE, but i like to be a follower too. 3-Mothership with Carrier and Fighter lvl 5 and to go-a-ganking 4-World seemed so big and so much to do...Running out of fun. Mining is worse than a hot poker to the eye. Hunting has been boring for quite some time now...Missions are for hard core solo artists who want to have a neato bpo...pffft In teh early days you had to work your ass off for something small....which can now be done in 1/10th of the time, game balancing etc... 5-Id make EvE 10 times bigger yet travel a bit easier.... Id make a Casino/planet scene where you can gamble your isk from pirating or hunting and chill with your friends, which is the real reason any of us continue to play this game.....

1. Do you still play as much now as back then?
No, Too much to do in real life..
2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween?
Still a Grunt. Haven't gone into Leadership yet.
3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE?
Not really, just log on and PVP or Rat.
4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days?
The anyship with Cruise/Torp Aspect. Stations use to build ships and things, helped keep the market price down. Blowing up the Station haulers and get good loot from them.
5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could?
NPC Haulers, bring back the loot!!!

Edited by: Caanan on 01/07/2006 03:24:13 1. Do you still play as much now as back then? about the same amount, i dont play that much
2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween? follower, or do my own thing solo or with a friend. I tried leading, i dont have the time. 3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE? yes 4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days? eve has changed a lot, for the better and the worse. Personally I liked the old days more. There was less people playing, and that meant less blob wars. A few people could hold their own pretty well if skilled. Now, no matter how good your team is, if you are greatly outnumbered you will lose. I also think carebearism has increased. By carebears I don't mean npcers or miners. I mean npcers, miners, and even pvpers who fit stabs because they are afraid to lose their ship. Stabs were available in the old days too, but the problem wasn't so bad. Honestly i think stabs are the worst thing there is in eve. I want them removed. As lorth once put it, if you pay attention, then there is no reason you shouldnt escape. Except for gate camps. Another thing is POSes. Their concept is good, but its stupid how carebears can flee to the POS and seek total asylum from anything smaller than a cap ship. T2 bpos are the next thing which I loathe. If there is anything in the game that is most overpowered, its T2 bpos. They virtually allow you to print isk. Besides all that stuff the new ships and mods have balanced the game and made it better. 5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could? PvPing without having to worry about blobs and getting fair fights. Also running dual speed mods. Being good with that took skill.

1. Hell no. By now I've graduated and you know, have to work and stuff.
2. No freakin' clue. Which I guess means I lead myself.
3. Yeah. Gonna go back to pirating. Cause this side blows.
4. It's umm... finished. When I started there was Arkonor in empire and having a Thorax was a huge deal. The rumors of m0o having the first battleship.... oooooo..... All I know is, most complicated game on the planet, no ******* instruction manual. Go figure.
5. Yeah, the mystery of it all. The unknown. But I guess that's how all games go after 3+ years.
So man, I'm freakin' bored. If you have something interesting to do, lemme know. Cause damn, I'm freakin' bored.

1. No I dont, but then again back then I wasnt in work, and had a hell of a lot more time for the game. If I still had that time I'd probably be here a lot more.
2. These days I'm a director, but I did the CEO thing for 2 years, in the end I was just burnt out from all the politics.
3. Yup, sure do, but I admit they are getting more and more time consuming to get (getting into this damned carrier for example!)
4. The game back then was definitely more about the individual characters than corps. These days it always seems to be either about D2 or BoB. I remember being new to the game and I kept getting attacked by Toastmaster and Valaria in Aununen. (when the sentry gun range was 60km, so they could attack you without being fired on), these days peoples names dont really stick in your mind, afterall it's hard to pick out someones name in the middle of a blob, and space sure did feel bigger back then.
5. I'd definitely scrap the new EW system, the old system was far better and fairer. (maybe bring a range limitation into the EW but thats about it)

1. Yes. 2. inbetween. Been a CEO and didn't enjoy it so much. 3. So much more to do. 4. It has become more 'carebear' oriented. 5. No sentries in low sec.

1) No, much less 2) Exec, and I find it bloody annoying 3) No 4) EVE evolved toward massification, a natural evolution, but not necessarily fascinating 5) since is a veteran thread: I'd bring back old fights with no tech II (this makes the game easily predictable) and no ridicolous (and useless) sniping ships/sniping fleets

I'm from early april 2004, but I'll answer anyway.
1. Dunno. Not really. It fluctuates from week to week, really. Sometimes I put in 20+ hours, other weeks I just change skills. 2. I'm kind if indipendent. The corp I'm in doesn't really have a hierarcy.. I don't lead anyone, but I don't follow anyone either. 3. Hell yes. 4. For the better, really. There's more options, and that can only be good. 5. Cruise missile frigates. It wouldn't be overpowered with the current missile system (In fact, I think that a standard launcher who'd have to reload every two shots with a cruise missile would do less dps than if it loaded standard missiles).

1.No where near as much although i still put in a late long session if a corp op demands it.
2.Very much a leader, have pretty much always been a kinda of director of sorts but im certainly a lot more easy going than most ceo/directors that ive come accross in 3+ years.
3.I certainly do but with the implementation of certain things in last 6 months+ it is becoming harder and harder for this to be acheived.
4.Massivly, balance wise it is hugely better in terms of ships and fitment except for...............
Multispecs are way overpowered currently and the pathetic excuse of eccm boost in last patch has done little in real pvp to make a difference.
POS are the single biggest thing in eve that i h8, 0.0 is too easy for people to live in. People can npc with little risk and can hide in a pos safely....lets be honest no one really bothers with wiping out pos of these people.
Cloaks on battleships etc, ive always been believer of ships for specific roles and fitting cloak on bs is just another way making you immune to ambush/atack/gank etc thus leaving you happy to npc or whatever and never be found at a ss thus making the usefullness of covert ops frig in its primary role of little use.
Outposts these things are springing up all over the place and obviously providing nice big shiny blobs for people to atack but are pretty much making it hard for people to make living out in 0.0 that dont want to be part of aliance....sort of join us or be assimalated
5. Stabs in mid slots, i couldnt care less if it gimps a sheild users tank or makes no effect to a armour tanker....at the end of the day it is completely pathetic the way people will rack up with stabs 4tw and if they dont like the way an engagement is going theyll just warp out. Make it how it used to be , sacrificing mid slost to stabs if far more detremental to your effectivness as a pvper. So many lame raven and especially vagabond pilots going round with 2+ stabs fitted.
Not really an element that existed but certainly 1 id like implemented is a % based chance of insta bkmks working and being acurate. Would be nice to see 1 in 5 instas land you 15km of gate and not work, would go someway into making 0.0 the less empire like region that it has become Without Reason corp website
^^looking for a PvP corp with little stress then look no further. |

1. Nope, RL intrudes a lot then back in my school days... 2. I'm a senior member in my corp, i lead from time to time ;) 3. Hell yeah! Still got a lot to do and try out... still enjoying it 4. It's become more popular since the beginning, so a lot more peepz which adds more "flavour" to the game. And for the rest... everything is more tweeked then in the beginning, some major improvements (and some things that were fun before...missile dmg of 600+ minimum was fun :) ) 5. Nicer missiles :p neh just kiddin... nothing i can think of atm *For Blood and Honour* *The difference between a killer and a soldier is a question of loyalty*

1. Do you still play as much now as back then? I play as much or more than in the early days
2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween? CEO of a corp but really I'm somewhere in between
3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE? Lots and lots of things still to do in this game
4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days? There's been many changes to the game's mechanics. The human interaction thing has not changed much, just different people now
5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could? Not much. I think the game is better now than in the beginning. Some other vets would disagree and complain about specific things which they would like back BUT I would say overall the game is better.

1: Yes. 2: I was a leader for a long time, now I play to enjoy the game again. 3: My ambitions are to help my corp with its plans. Which is a lot different than they used to be. 4: It is much more serious now, people are almost too good at it. 5: I miss being a noob TBH, at a time when everyone else was a noob aswell. Can't bring that back tho.

1. Do you still play as much now as back then? A: sometimes I do, sometimes I don't....but generally I've played less since then.
2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween? A: Somewhere in between, I'm mainly a grunt in my alliance/corp but I do get to command ops once in a while. I could probably have started my own corp, but didn't really want the hassle, and I found a great corp so I havn't wanted a change from it in like 9 months.
3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE? A: Sure, I've got plans to somehow take over the galaxy. I also have plans to actually break 1 billion isk for the first time (I pvp too much, and don't use WCS's)
4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days? a: Soloing is generally harder, eve shifted a lot more towards a team game than it was. Better for some people, worse for others.
5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could? A: The aspect I miss most is something I can't get back: Being a newb, not knowing anything, everything I did was a new experience.

1. Do you still play as much now as back then?
Sadly and gladly, yes I do think I play as much.
2. Today are you a Leader, a follower or somewhere inbetween?
More leader.
3. Do you have any ambitions or plans left in EVE?
Plenty, since it's never possible to do everything in this game.
4. How do you think eve has changed since the early days?
The thing for me to note is the amount of players nowadays.
5. What aspect of gameplay would you bring back if you could?
Nothing much, change is normally good tbh. Progression adds more/different possibilities.

2. Peon with FC'ing responsiblity, guess im quite lucky.
3. Cause more wars, kill more champions and get my actual _NAME_ on eve news and not 'an unnamed omega corp pilot' or 'a member of the curse alliance'. :P
4. More security in empire and that i guess, i had a lot of fun during SA vs CA war - and i guess eve's evolution killed that off, but ultimatley i think eve has changed for the better.
5. None tbh

1. Depends. Mostly on for major operations, 3 years+ ingame don't have to grind so much. 2. Just a gunner, as that leading thing takes up alot of time. 3. Yup almost completed everything i have wanted ingame, only one thing left to do. 4. Was so much more fun when the server had like 2k or less people on it. Lag wasn't really a problem then. 5. Making Empire way more dangerous like it used to be (Fighting Concord in 1.0 4TW).

1. Hardly, I'm a shadow of my old eve self. 2. I do not play enough to warrant having a leadership position. I'm more of a figure head than anything. 3. Not with the current content. Maybe later with new stuff. 4. It's gotten much more complicated. More balanced. A hell of a lot more ships. 5. I really miss the days of isk being hard to come by. I used to spend hours upon hours trying to make enough isk to buy a battleship. I used to get sick to my stomach when I lost one. Now I regulary do stupid **** with my ships because I just don't care about the isk.

1. Shell of my former self. Hardly at all, except to log in, train character up, and talk with the friends I have met over the last few years.
2. Follower. Given some type of directorial status, but really for the new folks to establish now. Did the CEO thing, burnt myself right out and gave me sour taste.
3. Nope. Not really.
4. Not really certain. Haven't been involved in alliance stuff for ages, nor been out to 0.0 for extended periods. Biggest change is how "claimed" space is getting smaller and smaller, which is somewhat good. BOB saga is interesting, and shows what can happen with sandbox approach, but not really certain how it benefits Eve overall. They have great methodology similiar to irl corps, poach proven credible people and increases their own sphere of influence.
5. Frigs with cruise. Loved those although they were horribly overpowered. Old ECM based as opposed to the roll the dice currently happening. Friendly Splash damage. May lead reduction in huge blobs as friendlies do get hit. My first fight ever and I just about got taken out by my own corp/alliance with them firing torps/cruise and the enemy was less than 10kms away.
