THE BIG, BOLD, DISCLAIMER SECTION - READ IT:
- YES, I know that scamming is allowed.
- YES, I was scammed this way.
- YES, you can right click and see the item's true name in the trade window.
- NO, I don't think player given names should be enabled in player to player trades.
- NO, I don't care if this has come up before.
- NO, I don't care that you're now laughing at someone that got scammed.
- NO, I am not reading the replies to this suggestion.
- NO, I will not tell you for how much or give you any further LOL's. You can continue elsewhere if this is something you can't discuss maturely. I assure you, this is me getting the topic off my chest and nothing more.
Thank you for reading the disclaimer.
The player to player in-station trade window should only show the item name, not the name given the item by a player. This would be a simple change, and would affirm that while people are allowed to scam, they are not necessarily encouraged or enabled. |

No, thank you.
A simple "show info" or just a quick look at the item image and you know what is it.

This. One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia |

I'll bite....why not get the person into a contract where you get the no BS real deal item name.
Seller not going contract is a sign. Most non scamming players have much more important crap to do than sit in jita for hours a day. We drop off market orders/create contracts and gtfo. Said it before, say it again....when I have stuff priced to sell I price to sell it. Contract made (or market order made if sellable there), I pick up odds and ends on market and I am gone baby gone.
Example: I am an indy burnout. Sold a nice ME BS bpo for a nice price in contract a while ago. Contract was taken 2 jumps out from jita on way home. Moral of the story....good deals sell themselves, you don't have to be in jita local to push the sale.
Now op or noob may ask well how do I get them into a contract. Answer....offer a few extra iskies. One scammer pushing his trade speech in local had a nice item for a nice price. So I tell the trader put that in contract, tack on 30 million to your asking price and we have us a very nice deal. Did not take the offer. Got some grade A lines of BS as to why....and I just walked away.
Or show info as mentioned. |

Tate Sdrawde wrote:Whaaaaaaa! Thus you learn. If it's not a contract and you don't personally know who your dealing with, it's probably a scam.
I, also, would like details on the scam you fell for. Disclaimer: My opinion does not necessarily reflect that of my corp or alliance. My opinion is my own, and if you don't like, that is your problem. |

As it is already easy enough to avoid such scams, no.

NO, I am not reading the replies to this suggestion. This means that you are not interested in a discussion. Which in turn means that you are just ranting. Which of course is against the rules. In before the lock. |

As the OP is apparently not interested in a discussion on the validity of his idea, this thread gets a lock.
