Would it be so unbalancing to introduce a webifying module with a 20km range?

would just be like a warp scrambler which has a range of 20km so it wouldnt make much diffrent heh!

IMHO yes, that would make life very hard for close range fighters. Get double webified at 20km and you will never get in range.

Heh Jarjar - if they're firing missiles at you now you can't get in range A webifier would make no difference at all while missiles can stop BSs dead in their tracks and then drive them backwards....

When Webbifiers reduce shields by 50% and Cap by 25%, sure.
Put a real counter mod (READ: NOT A MWD) in place first, then worry about jacking up the range on jamming gear. =============================== Deception + Information + Skill |

No, not if it has much weaker attributes than the current webbers. Say -40% to speed. Then it would require 3 of them to get the same effect as 1 of the current webbers. They should also be given a higher cap/second usage than "normal" webbers.

I wouldnt want -40% at 20KM range because it all the user of the device would need is a MWD or some AB's to get closer really quick and get the kill, I wouldnt mind a 30% with slightly higher cap useage.

What I'd like to see done with both warps and webs, is to have their cap usage scale with range, as in, you can warp jam someone from 80km out, but it'll pretty much kill the cap on any ship not outfitted for extra recharge.
this way, battles could take place at long range, but you'd need dedicated long range EW ships. This also assumes that a way to start battles that far out comes into play at some point.
