Might I suggest dropping one of those Amps and putting an Invul field on instead?

Any Caracal over 700m/s will survive lv3 prob.

5x heavys L extender, 2x invul, 1x painter, abII rcu, bcu
Will survive lvl2. Only problem is keeping those invul. fields active, as they eat lots of cap. --------- Dead already? |

As for the setup, a caracal should easily survive any level2s. I'd probably replace the booster with another large extender, and the CR with an afterburner. You'll run them faster.
Can you fit a damage mod at all?

Hrmm, could attempt a passive tank? Large extender, invunerable field, 2x shield rechargers, 2x PDS?

5 Launchers AB 2 Hardners 2 L Extenders 2PDU
Runs through lvl3 missions no problem. Probably better to use Assault launchers for level2 tho.

High: 3 heavy, 2 assault or something like that. Mid: large extender, AB, shield booster (just in case). Two more slots with whatever you feel like. Low: BCU or nanofiber (damage or faster looting... what else is even useful?)
If you're even half awake, you'll run level 2s in your sleep. Cruisers are really kind of overkill for level 2s, unless you manage to find a truly awful setup.

How do you get Caracal to 700m/s?? With Nav skills at 4 I get just over 500m/s with tech II AB.

Missile bonus apply to ALL size of launchers and different sized missile do almost the same DPS on mission NPCs.
U know what I mean? Strip your heavy lauchers for smaller ones and thus the spare Grid/CPU will make u over tank or over run all NPC.

with my caracal i have 3 assualt launchers 1 heavy launcher 1 rocket launcher(for those close range guys that will come) large extender, medium extender, tech 2 small cap., large booster, medium cap booster, power diag. and a co processor and i own lvl 2s

Err, why the cap mods? You have nothing on that ship that uses cap besides warping, and it's just silly to waste so many slots so you can warp more often.

i use them for the booster cuz its a large booster i can use it more. there is prolly a better way of doing this but o well lol

If your'e going to run 5 assaults (which is actually perfect for L2's, almost all frigates), then you can fit a MASSIVE passive tank on there. I'd go with something more like this:
HI: 5x assault MID: 1x 10mn AB, 2x Large Extender, 2x Medium Extender (heh) LO: 2x Shield Power Relay
