Recently some forumites were talking about NPC null, and I realized I didn't know as much as I thought I did, which led to me thinking I should head over to check it out.
Since I'm a trader larger regions that are nearly pure NPC stations, rather than small bubbles, make for more interesting prospects The thought of trading in such an environment seem rather exciting, where literally everyone is against me, providence will seem like a cakewalk perhaps..
But otherwise I have no idea about the dynamics of either region. Stain seems to be more remote from empire than Syndicate according to the empire map, whether this translates into a different gameplay experience or not, I've no idea.
Is there a place for someone like me out there? Since moving into a nullsec region is non-trivial with the need to make BMs everywhere, tactical, instadocks, instawarps etc, I'd prefer to move somewhere that totally changes the way I play.
Thanks. Because you disdained all my counsel, and my reproof you ignoredGÇö I, in my turn, will laugh at your doom; will mock when terror overtakes you; -- Ultimate Griefer's Handbook |

Depends on what you are looking for in terms of your gameplay.
Syndicate has about twice as much pvp as Stain, so the risk is a bit higher to an industrialist, though a lot of that activity in Syndicate is located in a subset of systems. Some systems are very 'peaceful' for the most part.
If you are wanting to seed markets as a trader, Syndicate is probably also a better choice because of the larger losses that occur there, however that is balanced by lower requirements for a market compared to highsec and Corp/Alliance logistics for players that live there, so markets that are used are seeded already.
If you are looking to run missions, mine, manufacture, run PI, etc. either region is good.
You'll need to develop good bookmarks for your transport routes in either of those regions and generally if you want to settle somewhere, you should be able to setup ok diplomatic relations with other inhabitants in the systems, particuarly if you are going to use their POCOs, etc.
I live in Syndicate, so my view may be biased because of my familiarity with it, but either is probably a good choice. . -á<- Argue this, not this ->-á( -í-¦ -£-û -í-¦) |

Stain generally has better isk/lp conversion for missions iirc as well as better true sec for anoms/exploration/ratting purposes. On the other hand, getting your stuff in an out of stain (i.e. logistics) is a major pain in the ass. Generally, stain has isk making opportunities that easily rival the best of sov space; however, this attracts a number of groups that are, shall we say, "territorial".
Syndicate has a bit more pvp in some areas, the ratting/anoms/exploration is much worse, and the isk/lp for the missions is a bit worse as well compared to stain. On the other hand, there's much less "competition" in the mission hubs, logistics is trivial, and the pvp that does happen in syndicate is generally limited to a handful of constellations.
Edit: Also keep in ind that in both cases, the best way to make money is to run the local pirate faction missions which WILL trash your empire standings. It can be very lucrative (to the tune of 200-300 mil isk/hr), but it is best done on an alt if you wish to return to hisec at some point. |

I can't comment on Stain, however Syndicate may be good for a trader, as not only is it NPC null with several corps operating there, there is also a hi-sec isolated pocket of reasonable size (Solitude) not far in from one of the larger Syndicate inroads through Verge Vendor.
I'm not sure if having a nearby isolated hi-sec pocket nearby would be something attractive for someone seeding markets, however depending on which system you are in, theres two hisec areas within a single JF launch. |

Stain is really, really hard to get around, all routes kinda go through 37S-KO as a vaguely central system but decent chunks of the region are 10-15 jumps away from it. As previously stated its for the main part pretty quiet too, a lot of the PVP seems to be centered around home systems, which presumably sort themselves out, and (just three) regional gates which are so spread out its hard to offer a central point for restocking.
Depends what exactly you're planning on doing ofc but there are decent reasons for the market being so dead down there. Travelling at the speed of love. |

Good point. Is there any language barriers to either region? Thanks. I just want to get a plex as fast as i can so i dont have to worry about resubbing, 15 dollars is Cat litter and Food for my cat, or 2 Grams of Weed, i'd rather spend it on that then on this game--Rogue Mime |

Most of the guys we encounter are either native english speaking or english as their second language (with other third and fourth languages, so their English is as good as native in many cases).
I encounter slavic posts in local within lowsec GalCal FW space commonly, but can't remember the last one I saw in Syndicate. There are definitely Corps there that have a strong Eastern European membership, but for the most part the inhabitants seem to be english speaking primarily. . -á<- Argue this, not this ->-á( -í-¦ -£-û -í-¦) |

For Syndicate, unless you are doing short hop shipping, forget it, you might as well play the 'double your money' Jita games and lose less ISK. All the pipes to high-sec are heavily bubbled and guarded and there are multiple roaming frigate gangs that WILL SCRAM YOU NO MATTER HOW MANY STABS YOU HAVE! But if you have a JF, there goes all of your problems.
On the other hand, if you just bring in BPO's in shuttles and build your own stuff for use and market seeding, I believe that you will do well, there are few trade hubs allowing you to up the price since you have little competition. In my opinion, T22-QI was a nice little system with lvl 1-3 security agents, nice ratting and mining and is fairly quiet. It's also next door to a minor trade system and has multiple stations. The labs seem to have wait times of only under a week too so you can research your stuff.
In my opinion, you would probably be better off joining an indy corp in soverign null, if the alliance is big then you shouldn't have any issue with inter-region shipping if you pay attention to the intel channels. |

Well, my problem is that I am a mariner by trade and spend months at a time without internet access. So I can't adapt to changing sovereignty, and or meet many alliance's minimum participation requirements. I was in Deklein for a while and enjoyed it, but had to quit my corp to make room for more active members. Stain is not as remote as it would seem, You can jump JFs into TNN from amar lowsec, and carriers can go straight to the Mission Hub of 6QBH. |

Having traded in Syndicate, in a regular gate jump ship i can say it was too much trouble than it was worth, it was fun but in terms of isk returns and time not something i would write home about. But in saying all that if you want to play EVE survival by all means ! I think it does actually build a valuable set of actual skills that will come in useful no matter where you play EVE later on. |
