Having returned to EvE recently, for whatever reason the ESC key is not working at all, I can't go to the menu setting for audio or display options. And the texture on the ships and various stations/objects were blurry despite I have way more than enough to handle the graphic (This desktop ran EvE at highest setting 3 years ago, should have any problem with texture hardware wise)
ESC key is really troubling, please tell me how to fix it, i can't even quit the game without alt-tab to the window and force quit the game. |

I have the same problem. Also the F keys don't work. A real problem when trying to shoot rats. Also, the problem persists when using the virtual on-screen keyboard.
It seems that other people have had similar problems in the past. No clear reason why, but some have reported success after purchasing a new *wireless mouse* .
I have no idea why that might be.

It is quite frustrating, i wanted to come back but it is pretty dang difficult to play the game without a functioning ESC key, i can't adjust the audio and what not.
Come on CCP, please tell me there is a solution. |

So, I tried to fix it by installing a new mouse. That did not work.
However, I then installed the manufacturers mouse driver for my new mouse (it was simply using the default windows USB mouse driver before).
I made sure via control panel that the mouse is using the new driver and everything works. |

Yes it is strange.
I verified that it was not the keyboard hardware itself by using windows virtual on-screen keyboard. (which creates a "virtual" keyboard that you click with your mouse).
When I pressed escape with the virtual keyboard, it still didn't work This strongly suggested that the problem was not a specific hardware problem with my keyboard. |
