Solo is alive,
You just need to look harder and there are lots of ppl flying around solo themselves for you to engage.

Wait, have we brought up dueling and suspect flags yet or is all this about roaming in low/null looking for fights? Bring back DEEEEP Space! |

For example, very different methods are used hunting for Ratters and Miners then the methods used to hunt for fleets that may be getting around in the same region or a region away from you.
And possibly most interesting is hunting for other hunters. I believe there is much greater emphasis on the "hunt" when soloing then what there is when getting around in a fleet.

Part of the solo game that makes it fun. In simplest terms, you're looking to find out if your target is going to bring rock, so you can catch him all paper.
For example, fitting out a Firetail to find fights with cruisers is very different to how you would fit out a Firetail to hunt Interceptors.

Indeed. The beauty of the sandbox is you can play how you want to play. Create your own fun.

I was about to horribly pervert that. Yeah solo pvp still exists id assume you just have to make it quick before it becomes 10vs1.
Yesterday in a roam the FC held some logi and ECM ships in another system in case we got an escalation. |

Solo pvp is not and never has been about 1v1's. It's always been about ganking unsuspecting targets (miners, ratters, anom runners and so on) or fighting 1 vs many. Admittedly the "many" have tended to get quite a lot bigger in recent years and the unsuspecting are rarer, but it is still possible.
In any case, you have to forget about the notion of good and reasonably fair fights. Eve hasn't allowed for that since I started playing many years ago. The extent of honor here is the "honorable' won't outright lie to you. Beyond that anything goes.
My own solo pvp record was, depending on how you look at it, either 23 vs 1 or 12 vs 1. In the 23 vs 1 I killed 2 and escaped. In the 12 vs 1 I killed half and held the field. That is solo pvp at its finest (curse flown in both cases). Typical solo pvp is more like me running out in a heretic and blapping a venture mining in a gas site in w-space. Is it fair or even much of a fight? Absolutely not. Is it solo pvp? Most definitely. Fireworks and snowballs are great, but what I really want is a corpse launcher. |

CCP took the "fair" out of the "fight" to pucker up to these asses.

I am not sure solo PvP was ever really all that alive and well, ever.
Though solo losec roams can be a thing. |

We have established that REAL PVP consists of:
A. Duelling 1v1 at the sun.
B. Blobbing

I have hundreds of solo kills, many of which were great fights. Lowsec faction warfare regions up to cruiser. Pretty dead higher than that from what I can tell. You don't have a killboard history, so what would you know about pvp? Get back to running L4s or mining

The issue is that people have too much ISK.
Even for T1 frig pvp you get deadspace fits. off grid boosts and drugged and imped up pilots calling it "solo pvp"
Many people think that PVP is only about ~elite pvp~ where you have to max. your chance of actually winning which in my opinion is comparable to hacks in FPS games.
Of course you want to use every advantage you can get when there is specific goal you need to reach but usualy you dont fly a T1 frig doing it...
True Solo and therefore "skilled" pvp still is, and will always be solo, without any boosts and super expensive fits in my opinion.
Or lets say appopriate fits and use of implants/boosters.
I think that these so called "elite pvpers" are ruining PVP more than actual carebears which dont pvp at all.
But afterall its CCPs fault for bringing us near uncatchable and near unprobable T3 off grid boosts.
But a fix like a massive sig increase of activating gang links belongs into feautres and ideas. |

Go to FW space and hunt plexers, or just stick around fw space. There's a lot of small gangs and even some solo pvp if you're lucky :) |

Not totally, but it's pretty ******.
Try and avoid fighting anyone on their home territory. Look up the killboard's of potential targets - if all their kills are in two systems and involve the same 8 people you can be sure it's probably a trap.
For the majority of people, "PvP" means using offgrid links, boosters, blobs, ECM and hanging around the same spot for ages trying to find victims that can't see all that stuff. Very few people are interested in good fights. The best thing is to look for other roamers or randoms like yourself and not people that live in that part of space, and yeah that's pretty hard.
Even "solo" PvP videos these days often use links and boosters. Yeah it's a pretty ****** state of affairs but it's unlikely to change because CCP makes too much from people training booster/ECM alts.
Perhaps try some FW (or hang around FW Space) or Join RvB for a bit and see how you like that.
