Now, for the peace process: * All stations in DEK are opened for all dek inhabitants with commonly agreed on taxation and use rights THAT ARE PUBLICLY POSTED SOMEWHERE AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHORIZED NEGOTIATORS. * Talks opened on the future roles of the various corporations and alliances within deklein, and the common grounds on which to work for the future together. Demanding that miners have to haul ore extra 5 jumps is like demanding fighters not to use instas.
Peace terms: * All hostilities in the area cease within 24 hours of the making of the deal, any possible warmongers, double agents or misinformed folks killing people after that time reported PUBLICLY and summarily punished for their misbehavior. (I'd prefer kicking out of deklein, but monetary compensation would do as well) * FLA holds 3JN - or whatever station found suitable by the negotiators together - until mutual trust is found again, when the station is once again transferred to NFC control. During this time the station control will adhere to the common set of rules set for NFC stations and will transfer all the acquired funds to NFC for the building of a stronger alliance.
I cannot see what can be gained by current NFC in the current conflict, even if the FLA demands are taken as the baseline to which they can compare other options. FLA, however, gains a peaceful area where they can ply their industrial trade without having to blast friends out of the sky every day, if NFC demands ("leave dek") are taken as the baseline.
Seeing this, NFC can only lose in this conflict, and - as FLA would, by complying to current demands, lose everything - FLA can only gain in this conflict. Everyone would gain the most from a peace solution reached as soon as possible.
I THINK NFC NEED TO MAKE THIS GUY IN COMMAND OF THERE POLITICAL MACHINE I FOR ONE WOULD SUPPORT THIS RESOLVE.

Umm, you might want to check the map. Sparta owns the CZD station not FLA, so how did they manage to revoke your access?

As far as I know, it went like this:
FLA had CZD station when this began. Standings were set to neutral, as FLA was being shot by many factions, that hours earlier were friends. It was explained to them, that once the situation would cool down a bit, standings would ofc be set back.
Sparta gained control of that station in the first attacks against FLA.
Yes, I can understand how this can be viewed as a hostile action from FLA, but if you look at the situation FLA was in.. well, not that it matters much now, I'm happy there are corporations that want to talk, and end the senseless fighting on their part. (Don't know if F.R.E.E. has even fougth FLA btw)

I have been away from home for the last two days and I unfortunately had to leave right after the last round of negotiations were scheduled to begin.
As soon as I get back which will be 7pm GMT tonight I will be available for talks, I wish to talk to the most senior FLA negotiator as a matter of urgency.
Obviously I have been unable to communicate with both the NFC and FLA leadership over the last two days and I am not up to speed on the most recent discussions. I wish to bring this conflict to an end.
I have no issue with the FLA recording or transcribing any discussions held with myself for public release at a later date.
If I am unable to resolve this conflict to the satisfaction of both sides I will step down and resume my duties in a corporation outside of the NFC this has gone on long enough.
I am taking these steps without consultation of the NFC leadership, I wish to mediate between the two parties and I am expecting a positive solution if I am given the opportunity to make this happen.

I agree with Jester and I hope that with finally a ranked member of the NFC trying to broker a reasonable deal we can move forwards to sorting this mess out.
I've personally found FLA to be fairly reasonable so far and although we've spent a good few hours arguing on viewpoint I don't think i've met a single one that has made me want to step away from the computer due to having an immoveable standpoint.
I wish you gentlemen good fortune in your negotiations. "Arrogance and Stupidity all in one package - How efficent of you commander"

We haven't had much stake in this battle, though we feel that FLA did throw the first punch, cancelling our access and clones in CZD station, which did skew us towards the NFC side. We have many friends in NFC, but from our point of view, this is a fight that NFC started, provoked or not, and they need to finish it.
I will note that neither side has of yet asked/demanded that we pick a side, which is respectable, though, as I said, our hand was forced in one direction, as I feel others have been, by the paranoia of FLA to instantly set anyone friendly to NFC hostile.
As it stands, we have little interest in what happens from this point. Neither side has show the resolve to end this, and in turn stabilize Deklien, which is our primary concern. At this point, I'm not even sure either party can do it alone. Our bigget fear is that a hostile 3rd party moves in and kills the both of you off and claims the region as their own.
I will state that by being based in Fade, if any party loyal to FLA is found in Fade space, we will be obligated to fire.
FLA threw the first punch.....catch up please..... FLA were betrayed, had all rights removed with no warning and have been living in space for a month, we cancelled rights to all NFC when we took 3JN, you have friends of NFC in your bio and live out here then you are NFC. Perhaps you guys should ask us to put friends of FLA in your bios.
You are based in Fade? then you have no need to be in Deklein.
Paranoia of FLA? I think having all NFC turn upon us would do that yes, but we also know who we can and cant trust, not knowing if we can trust you leaves us in a position of keeping you out of the equation.
FLA is found in Fade you will open fire? see above, there goes that trust already. If you are seen in Deklein or surrounding areas we will fire upon you without hesitation. |

The NFC should certainly shake up their leadership responsible for this. The NFC looked bad and unjust at the beginning of this war to abruptly evict FLA, at which time they were winning, and they look equally bad now they are losing. Of course the losing part makes things all that much better... It is nice to see that because their plans did not go smoothly the unwise leaders among them may, perhaps, be held accountable.

I am dismayed to see AUS name taken in vain and accusations of dishonesty levelled at it.
AUS imHo have ALWAYS been utterly reliable. They have ALWAYS moved for the greater good and have always seeked senior level advice when a contraversial move was needed. They (as with many others) fell out with IRON for many reasons and the actual fallout of that affair was never and nor can it be - fully explained to the general populus.
AUS HAVE worked harder for the security of all of DEK, particularly norhtern dek, more than ANY other corp and for longer than ANY other corp. They have ALWAYS maintaned stable and exceptionally reasonable market prices and have never taken the biscuit.
It is a great shame that more prmoninet current residents of dek are not adding their positive opinons of AUS to this thread.
If i was u debs and gang i would be seriously speaking to woody..........
My views are my own and do not represent those of my corp or alliance.

AUS has been in deklein far longer than most corps in the north (having supported most causes since COD) and we've whethered through all the storms (including this). The name is tarnished and thats unfortunate but im very sure that we'll be here tomorrow, and the day after and the year following that.
and I'm personally very happy that FLA and NFC are now at peace. it means a stable and prosperous deklein. all we need now is an external force to test that mettle and create a stable, prosperous and UNIFIED alliance.

I totally relate to you on this one.
Quote: personnly i feel its time the nfc stopped snapping the olive branch. personally, i feel that its time the mercs all went on their way. like everyone else in dek. all we want now, is stabillity, trust and friendship.
put the wrongs aside. i dont care how. and sort it out.
I completely agree on this, and whether there is truth to all of the accusations made to this point, the fact of the matter is both sides had a problem which resulted in a war. Thus both sides are to blame - if people still insist on associating blame to something / someone.
I however do not wish to do so. I say move on. This was a black mark in Delk's history and should be a lesson to all of us, from the top of the chain of command down to the bottom. Let this be a lesson that we LEARN FROM!
Quote: Then after 3 months, if we feel we can trust you once again, we would be happy to relinquish control of 3JN to the NFC holding corporation once again.
All I can say is this, IF ANY OF US IN THIS REGION USE THIS TIME TO PREPARE FOR WAR AGAIN then Delkin is as good as gone for ALL of us. A house divided shall not stand, and neither shall we, regardless of our theories, strategies, bank-account, and / or connections. Unite as one or fall to nothing as the seeds of destruction seize their chance at the moment in our dis-unity.

Originally by: Rahlan The background here is fairly simple really. At the inception of the NFC AUS expected to be in command, running the whole damn machinery. That much was entirely clear during the coalition discussions. They expected things to be exactly as they were under IRON, only with all stations controlled by them so they could grow fat on the money and minerals rolling in without them doing anything at all.
When they discovered that equality rather than supremacy was the order of the day Raaki & Co couldn't handle it and started a disinformation campaign against the largest and most vocal proponent of the NFC being an equal partnership, rather than a money-grabbing dictatorship a la IRON of yesterday - that proponent being the FLA. Incredibly enough, the leadership of the other alliances and corps, (including, I'm very unhappy to say, my own) appears to have fallen for AUS' badly wrought lies. 300 BS a day??? Honestly, how silly is that..... The FLA may well be a hefty industrial force, but come on. How can you possibly be that stupid folks?
Frankly, this whole thing is a huge, moronic farce. The NFC that existed a few days ago had huge - HUGE - potential. A coalition of equal partners, working and fighting together for a region we know and love, keeping it safe for all involved and against all comers. Instead people are now seemingly opting for the old system of landlords and leaseholders, or Lairds and crofters. Surely it's not just me who thinks this is the worst f***ing move possible??
Well, I tell you this - if I wake up tomorrow or the day after and discover that we have King Raaki I as our new monarch, then I'm outta here faster than you can say "power hungry, money grabbing megalomaniac". I'm not having that kind of thing again, after tasting the hope and potential that arrived with the founding of the NFC. Not a chance. If that's what's going down, then to hell with it all. The rest of you can do as you please, though I hope somebody, somewhere, will come to their senses. Real soon would be nice.
I agree with the notion that Deklein should be UNIFIED and beneficial for all of those in the unified region!

According to the FLA friends that brokered the treaty, there was no violation. Reading the treaty, there has been no violation on NFC's part. (You are welcome to point it out, if you can. Please quote the specific line that was violated, as the treaty is posted on these forums for all to see.)
Must be good, old fashioned agression on FLA's part.

So what reasons does it have to fly under the IRON banner with FLA, FREEE and PRIK against the NFC?
Or is this another one of those 'Our reasons don't stand up to puplic scrutiny so we won't make them puplic' reasons like IRONs'?

We are not above such things. I think it will lead to an argument that will be a waste of time, but it's a fair question. I will ask Samjax to respond to this, since it's one of those dirty jobs that a CEO has the luxury of doing. ---- AUS Corp Lead Megalomanic |

Recently a member of Blades clone jumped in Deklein to pick up a BS left over from times past. Said member was told to leave imidiately. After this was reported another Blade member convoed 'David Hope' to find out what the situation is, basically, were not welcome their because they have no standings to us, evan though we have camped EC area together in the past.
I contacted David Hope to request + standings so that we can travel through the area (we dont need to but our members have assets there, and you never know when hostiles run up into Deklein).
Im still waiting for a reply, so far my views of NFC, arrogant and ignorant. The way that this has been handled by NFC so far, leaves blade members feeling like they want to go on a road trip to dekein. So advanced notice to NFC, please respond to my mail in game or contact me directly so we can discuss standings. we have no interest in your wars, dont let ignorance bring us into this war.

Most of the banter (at least in this thread) regarding AUS Corp pertains specifically to the leadership and certain AUS members who have long since left AUS in pursuit of other business opportunities and in-game interests.
AUS decisions of the last couple of months have been made by me however…and I see no need to apologize for them, as they have been made in the best interest of AUS and AUS’s desire to remain viable in the North. Such decisions have never been made haphazardly or without much consideration and due diligence.
In pursuing those interests, tough decisions sometimes have to be made. Any CEO can appreciate the truth of that.
With that being said, I cannot hope to please everyone as CEO of AUS. It is difficult enough at times to simply please our own members, let alone various alliances…and let alone public opinion on this forum.
When I took over as the CEO of AUS, we were already in the NFC. It was an “inherited” situation that I have tried to make the best of.
AUS, as David and Avril can both tell you was a “good” member of the NFC. We provided support and participation in various NFC programs and I tried my best to offer good counsel whenever I could. AUS, under my leadership, never tried to “take over” the NFC, we never tried to get rich from the NFC, we never tried to undermine the NFC in any way. My conscience is clear regarding AUS’s past relationship with the NFC.
AUS, under my leadership, has never “wronged” the NFC in any way. In addition, the NFC has never “wronged” us either.
After a couple of months as CEO of AUS, and as an NFC member, I made a decision to leave the NFC. This was before IRON started flying in the North again, this was before any NFC/FLA treaty “problems” existed. It was simply time, in my opinion, for AUS to move on.
AUS looked at a number of options. We looked at various alliances, we looked at remaining a “resident” corp, we even considered, albeit very briefly, of moving out of the Dek region altogether.
AUS finally decided on joining CORE.
I have no regrets in choosing CORE as our alliance. I feel that Venture, Deep Space Logistics and Project Gemini are all good people. Within CORE there is a wealth of experience, knowledge and history, and I felt it was a good match for AUS Corp.
Regarding our recent decision to fly with IRON, CORE, PRIK, FLA and FREEE…
This decision too was reached after considerable thought and deliberation. Suffice to say, the decision supports what I feel to be in AUS’s best long-term interests. If it turns out to be a wrong decision, we will lick our wounds and move on. If it turns out to be a right decision…well, you can figure out the rest on your own.
Best Regards
Samjax CEO AUS Corp |
