Greetings, and hello, CCP! I would like to commend you on your recent actions to put your playerbase in line. The mere thought of thousands of peasants using your petition system to show their concern over a change of policy boils my goat. It is good that you permanently ban the individual who constructed such a civil campaign, so that you can show your playerbase exactly what you think of them. Please continue to overreact to this situation so you can properly escalate the playerbase's response. Then, perhaps, they may understand the true meaning of your companies name. Control the crowd, crush dissent, ignore feedback.

They didn't change the game policy. You are still free to scam potential recruitment to your hearts content.
What they (CCP) actually changed was the channel policy. Anyone can set a policy for any channel they control and enforce it by kicking members of the channel and blocking them. I can create a channel right now and ban anyone that joins it with a character name that starts with Z. Here's the important bit: The game's policy on names beginning with Z remains unchanged. You can create them all day long if you like. I just won't let them stay in my channel once I discover them.
As for the reason for the ban, that had nothing to do with questioning the policy and everything to do with starting an asshat petition storm. Perhaps CCP is slightly less tolerant of the frat-boy antics when it impacts them directly.

Yah Hel was banned for using a dev's name and a version of the phrase "die in a fire" and CCP deemed it real life threats.
I have issue with that cause when the Devs use their own real life names in youtube vids etc, and some CCP employees (Sreegs for instance) dont mind it when you call them by their real names, it gets hard to ban someone for using real names od devs. Either its bannable or its not. There shouldnt be special exceptions.
Also, if everyone on the boards was held to the example that saying "diaf" or a variant of that was a "real life threat" how many of us would be left after a month?
