This may of been brought up a 100 times, but i have recenlty moved to another alliance meaning i need all the bookmarks it takes me an hour to put 300 bms in my ppl and places even with it closed. Now you say we got new servers aiming to boost performace and in pvp i have certainly noticed the difference, But why when before you could copy 400 bms in like 1min now its so ****. Whats happened, its really stopping myself and others i know of from playing. Anychance for any feedback on this and perhaps some fixes cs it seriously is ****. If there are problems which it will cause or was casuing plz let me know, or link me to another thread where bookmarks has already been disucussed tht would be cool
Thnx Horn

I think it's a programmed delay to copy BMs.
btw.... don't whine about that 1 hour you lose, think about the time you would lose if you had to do all 300 BMs by yourself

I've found a way to copy bookmarks that might shave off some of that time.
Click on your first bookmark, hold shift and press down 15 times, still holding shift, drag to your cargo/hangar. Without waiting for them to show up, do it again, and again. Soon enough, they'll be pouring into your cargo hold.

They have a lower database priority.
+ no lag to anythung else from BM's - copying BM's is slow
Can't have it both ways.

I have a big doubt on this one. I tried to copy bm when aroudn 12k ppl online and when 23k is online. There is no difference.
Major problem is the UI __ BP n bugs Got a new idea ? (Last updated 5 Sept 05) |

It's not about global load, but load on the node you're on specifically

People! Stop beating yourselves into a frenzy trying to do such mundane tasks. Simply hire some fool to make the bookmarks for you...not that I know anyone who makes bookmarks...

That's not the complaint here. Though now I may look you up.
The complaint is that BMs copy far too slowly as a quickfix for the database loading they cause. I think we can essentially blame either inefficient database search/updating and/or the enormous size of the BM table.
Both problems which would be solved a suitably encrypted client side BM scheme. Encrypted Client Side Bookmarks! Raise YOUR voice to CCP. |

I think bookmarks should be done away with entirely, but in the meantime, a delay for copying them is a small price to pay for the power they give you.

They should just freakin make a "Warp to 1km" option and have people delete their bookmarks.
It wouldn't change anything about the way the game works right now when you're really playing it, except you wouldn't scare people away from lowsec because they don't have their bookmark sets, you would get rid of billions of bookmarks that people are forced to keep, and you would level the playingfield a bit more, since bookmarks give throse who have them such an insane advantage, and those who don't absoloutly no chance.

Tru Dat.
And while yes I am sure managing the book marks has the lowest server priority...the UI certainly could handle things better. ..especially things like re-naming them, or moving them between folders.

"Warp to 5km" would be just about right. Still a sporting chance for gate camps, but not retardedly far for freighters on long trips. Ditch instas.

If you make it 5km people will keep using instas and you have accomplished nothing.

Not if it stops you at 5k no matter what. Think - warp bubble 10k in diameter around every gate. Still allows warp out since you appear 15k from the gate but stops warp in to less than 5k.
