I have problem, which is better lvl2 agent with HQ (+18), or lvl3 LQ (low quality -18) From what I saw lvl2 HQ give more RP then lvl3 LQ, am I right?

mission agents always go for the higher level, regardless of quality... RP/d I would "assume" it is the same way. Personally, I'd go with the Level 3. I'm pretty sure it will give you more RP/d

Edited by: Solomon Cayne on 29/03/2006 19:01:38 From this post-> Linkage:
RP/day = Field multiplier*((1+(EQ of agent/100))*((My skill+His Skill)^2)), although I think by "His Skill" the poster means "His Level".
Assuming the field multiplier is 1 and you are at 1 in the relevant science skill, and using the unmodified quality levels provided, you'd get:
Level 2: 1.18*9=10.62 RP/day Level 3: 0.82*16=13.12 RP/day
So the level 3 agent has the advantage here, but that might be different with regards to your skill level and effective quality. Run your numbers through the formula and find out.

based on the claculations I did and the actual RP I'm getting it appears that the negitive quality only effects the agent to a base of *1. So the *87 factor included in your calculation appears to be inaccurate base on the concept that everything below a *1 defaults to *1.
Proof: Level 2, -12 quality agent. 3 levels of connections skill, no levels of negotions skill. Upon leveling from Negotions 0 to Negotions 1 I received no additional RP (effective agent quality -7). Thinking that this was a bug I logged and when I came back on the RP number was still the same. Then thinking that the change was too small to notice I leveled negotions from level 1 to negotions 2. Once again I saw no change in the RP per day with the agent (effective quality -3). I then leveled up the skill assioated with the research, Rocket science from 3 to 4 and noticed that that part of the formula was functioning properly and decided to level negotions to level 3. At this point my agent effective quality rose to +2 and I noticed a .02 increase in RP for the day.
I hope this helps.

Thanks, that's good to know. I didn't have any active agents with negative EQ, so I could only check the formula for positive quality levels. You learn something new every day in this game :) |
