Hi,
I know the EVE servers are based in London, so the EvE clock shows GMT, but as the clocks in London went forward an hour on Sunday I presumed the EvE clock would follow this. Obviously not.
So, is there a mod or something in game which will display RL time for your region that I could install?
Thanks

Hi.
GMT (UTC) is a time that does not change around summer/winter time cycles. BST, British Summer Time, does. For computer systems it is better not to have those stinky summer/winter time changes if they can be avoided - could mess up things, or longer DT...
Good www-page to see your time vs. GMT might be the wwp.greenwichmeantime.com
Nothing in-game afaik to help.

Yes, Bojo, untill it is clearly stated in for instance, the Playerguide, where I can find the EVE-time. Is there an ingame screen, where I can find what IS the actual EVE-time? Or do I really have to go to a webpage, try to understand all aspects of European time, summer and winter4, in relation to GMT, WET,and/or my local time, then do some calculation and HOPE I do not make a mistake..?

The time in EVE client when you have entered game (lower left side bar - iirc) is EVT EVE standard Time, which is equal to GMT.

Well my sincere apologies for being a new player to the game and not having been here last year to see these posts. I sincerely hope my inability to have forseen 12 months ago that I would be here reading these forums in the future hasnt destroyed your day too much.
Oh and by the way, the forum is entitled : New Citizens Q&A. The clue is in the first word of the title, which you may have missed in your anger at being so inconvienced by these "stupid questions" from new players.
Thank you to the rest of you for your more helping and less patronising and offensive replies thou!

The answer is yes, we will have this conversation every six months when the clocks change because someone will always ask it.
Even if the answer were put in the player guide, a sticky, and a search button added so that it would be obvious how to find the thread from six months ago when it last happened, there would always be someone who didn't read it.
Even so, I am always happy to point out the answer.
EVE standard time = GMT BST = GMT + 1 GMT Never changes EVE does not observe Daylight Saving since there is no daylight to save in space. => EVE time never changes
yes, even the americans don't get a special time just for them. -- Olenir Theadorvin, Director, Cygnus United. Views expressed within the forum do not necessarily represent those of the corporation. They certainly do not represent the views of a sane man |

I must be blind, I don't see it. I hope you mean this is an ingame clock, not the 1 on my pc?

Bottom left of the screen while playing EVE
P.S. you may not see if playing in windowed mode. There is only do or do not, there is no try. |

Presumably then the forum time matches Eve time, so will also stay on GMT?
Got a bit confused earlier about when it was coming back up.
