active give you 50% resists but of course you use cap in activating them the faction and t2 give you 55% whereas the passive dont use cap but give lower resistance......theres some crazy commander ones but you can buy 2-4bs for what you would pay for 1 of them

from what i can tell, passive have lower resist stats but use no cap making them good for gunboats and people running shield rechargers and the active hardeners work great for those who run outright hitpoint tanks and missle launchers.(basic design i have for my future Ferox is that of 3x extenders invul field and a rat specific as missles use no cap my math tells me invul and hardener can basicly run forever).

If you train up the various compensation skills it is possible to have the same resist boost from 3 Energized Adaptive Nano IIs as an active hardener, for each damage type, with less cpu usage and obviously no cap usage !

Edited by: MissileRus on 23/03/2006 11:12:37 yea but fitting active hardeners then would give even higher resists
removed quote hehe

I use 2 passives on a ship and with my skills i get 50% to all types of damage so no more of that annoying switching hardeners for different rat types....... i always used the wrong ones anyway.... plus you get 50% to all resists (i think its 50% cant remember but its close to that) for only 2 low slots. ------------------------------------ ,,|,, -_- ,,|,, |

Actually I don't think this is true. The armour compensation skills were design mainly to be used with the passive hardeners, they do offer a +3% resist to active hardeners, but only when the active hardeners are inactive I believe, whereas all the comp skills to lvl4/5 make Eng Adpt Nano II's tasty.

My setup on a Deimos...Passive Tank
Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II
-25% to all
True Sansha Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane -28.125% to all
Corpum A-Type Energized Reactive Membrane (35m on escrow)
-55.625% to Explosive
Brings totals resists to EM: 76.8907928254 % Explosive: 74.1291842236 % Kinetic: 90.6118845853 % Thermal: 81.2237691707 %
With level 5 to all the armor comp skills
I know I could do better with some Corpum A-Type Adaptive Nanos, but those cost so damn much ---

is that nano II really worth it? you could fit another dmg mod with that cpu... -The mind is strong and the flesh is weak, but oh the flesh... |

without the nano, EM and Explo would drop to something like 60%. So yeah, i guess he's right fitting an adaptive!
