No wonder you guys ******* suck at pvp......Sensor booster is the only thing ( im fairly sure) that increases locking time..and tracking comps most certainly dont. ---------------------------

You're prohibited from pressing the post button within the next 48 hours.
Signal Amplifiers also increase locking time on ships.

*Decreases .. Sig amps kinda suck imo, not worth the lowslot.

When you are in the ship fitter in a space station, take a look at the scan resolution. You want a high number there. Ideally, yes, a sensor booster is preferable to a sensor amplifier when selecting a fitting. However, a signal amp is better than no mod at all. You can also use both if you'd like faster lock time than a single mod can give but are loath to give up two medium slots to accomplish this.

Edited by: tiller on 11/03/2006 12:32:15 The problem is the stacking now on sensor boosters. The days of fast locking times are over. The best you can really goto is 2 sensor boosters II with a sensor amp in low maybe.. but even the amp stacks with the boosters and is hardly worth the low slot.
Gang assist also stacks with your others mods and makes it worthless... gj ccp, afaik this was done with one thing in mind, not nerfing for balance but to protect those who don't want to fight. Thats another thread though :(
Just to add, add one time I used to use a scorp to boost my raven at gate. I could lock and scramble a frig before they could warp after jumping in. Now thats a fast lock speed :) *sigh*

Edited by: Pottsey on 11/03/2006 12:40:40 There is always the Auto targeting module which locks enemy targets every 5 seconds or with 2 modules every 2.5 seconds. The only catch is the enemy has to be in 30km for T1 and has to shoot you first. But if your lock is going take more then 5 seconds you still end up better off with the Auto lock module then manual lock. _________________________________________________ Nominate famous people in Eve who had an impact on you. |

Unless they fixed that module in one of the last patches, it doesn't work, I tried one (and two) of those, you have the +2 locked target, but when you activate it it blinks for 5 seconds and does nothing ...
I went in a belt with lowly NPCs frigs, let myself be aggroed by the whole bunch, waited until they were orbiting me (at 8 kms, just outside of smartbomb range, as usual) and then fired the Auto Targeting System I => blink for 5 secs and absolutely no lock ... btw, the range on those things should be 50 kms, according to their description ...

I don't think that the second post in this thread was really nice but you can't really call anyone a noob if you don't know which mod gives you a faster lock. ^_^
King Liu is RIGHT!!
