Media Information
A combined Amarr loyalist fleet consisting of 14 PIE Inc, 3 Imperial Dreams and 2 Calamar Bringers of Hope (CBH) pilots tonight fought a substantial engagement with the Minmatar Oracle corp in the Hek system.
The battle was fought at the Hek jumpgate to Nakugard where a sizeable Oracle fleet steadfastly and ferociously defended the jump.
Under the command leadership of Centurio Golan Trevize the Amarr battlefleet successfully engaged the Minmatar insurgents and forced them to flee after succesfully destroying many of their ships and reducing others to a ruinous state.
As a result Sarkos, the Voushod of Oracle, was forced to concede the gate to the Amarr fleet.
During the engagement the loyalist Amarr fleet suffered just two losses. Luckily the valiant pilots escaped their burning craft and made it safely back to station where they will be rewarded for their sacrifice.
Commenting on the battle PIE Inc CEO Takumi Vetinari said, "This was a good night for the Amarr Empire and its traditions. Oracle Corp have continued to harass innocent Amarr traders during the course of their legitimate business and while they insist on prying into Amarr affairs in this way we will continue to resist!"
Centurio Golan Trevize added, "The Minmatar at the gate fought bravely. Despite being defeated they have earned our respect by their actions tonight. If only they would see the light and let the Empire take them in its loving embrace as the Ni-Kunni have! They would be worthy additions to the Amarrian community with a little re-training and genetic modification."
Aralis, CEO of Imperial Dreams, concluded, "Tonight's actions have shown the Minmatar that we will no longer allow them to ride over our traditions and culture without a fight. I was pleased to assist my Amarrian brothers in PIE Inc. to thwart the Minmatar insurgents on this occasion and long for the day when all Amarr will stand together in a similar way. Tonight we gained a small victory - but the war is yet to be won!"

Edited by: Sarkos on 01/09/2003 00:11:42 Defending the gate were 12 Oracle ships. 1 Tempest, 1 Rifter, the rest an assortment of cruisers. Attacking the Amarr came in with 17 ships, among them 3 battleships, at least 2 of which were Armageddons. We held as long as possible, though out numbered and out gunned. In the end, Oracle lost 1 Stabber, 1 Rupture and 1 Rifter. The Amarr lost 1 Mallar and 1 Omen, and heavy damage was reported on both sides. Though forced to concede the gate, we gave as good as we got.
I salute my advisaries for a most honerable and well fought battle. I salute all my brothers and sisters who stood, defiant at the gate with me.
Now if only PIE, Calamar Bringer of Light and Imperial Dreams would just work to abolish slavery.....................

They fight hard to keep slavery, a long standing Amarr tradition, within the Empire. Asking them to stop slavery would cause our ancestors to roll over in their graves. Oh how i wish i had been there to collect your corpses and to add them to the new Purification Vats on Amarr homeworld.
Already we have a marketing strategy: Free paperweight with every slave purified!
for many Amarr households, the paperweight is more valuable than the slave.

Estios

[7]
It was the usual Sunday routine for Estios, he woke in his bed around midday with a very sore head from a heavy nights drinking in the tavern. Last night had been especially good ....or especially expensive as next to him lay a lovely looking slim Gallente woman. He neither knew her name , or cared for that matter but checked his wallet , it had been the latter and she was EXPENSIVE. He woke her up and bid her farewell and considered leaving the station. His spinning head and vommitting made him rethink his decision. When he finally made it to the*****pit of his mighty Rupture vessel at approx 19:00, he switched his comm channel to his secure Corp frequency and was immediately informed of an increasing gathering of enemy vessels in nearby Amarr space. Sarkos ordered all mining to cease and for Tribe to equip for confrontation, Estios smiled as he was always ready for battle, a quick polish of his Artillery cannons and he was off. Our intel poured in from scout ops and the force in Amarr was substantial and clearly heading our way.
It was apparent PIE had organised this force many days in advance as ships from Calamar and ID were present too, intel counted between 17-20 ships. They had luckily picked a good time for them too as Oracle were very few in numbers and those around were rushed to form a rag tag fleet and make a stand. Still even with the lack of heavy fire power and undermanned fleet, Estios eargerly awaited the over confident oppressors.
11 other Tribe members joined him at the Hek stargate to Nakugard , some dedicated miners who were prepared to sacrifice their all to stand against unfavourable odds. Just as the last Tribe members moved into position the local comm channel counter began to tick up as known enemies jumped into system. This was it, soon Estios would hear his shells tear through some poor Amarr hull. As the local ticker flew up it was apparent this was going to get messy as Oracle were severely outnumbered.
Orders were being given as to which ships to focus on but already Estios was being blinded by the red mist of combat ...or was it the terrible hangover he had. As he struggled to hear his Fleet Cheifs orders they arrived
1,2,3 , he view screen lit up with enemy vessels as they jumped in in huge numbers. Hit hard and hit fast was obviously the only strategy here as Estios targetted his weapons on a Maller piloted by Jobe Katarn and opened up with everything he had. Artillery cannons thumped and missle bays hummed as Estios ripped Jobe's shields and armour apart in a matter of seconds. His view screen was a joy to behold as the Maller erupted and spewed forth his enemies escape capsule as another Oracle member opened fire to finish the job. Luckily Estios had so far gone relatively unoticed as his shields were holding at 90% as he surveyed for his next victim , where was Kallanagh Tellen , he was going down.
Estios located Tellen and attempted to target, no response, again he tried and again no response. In the frantic haze of battle Estios thought maybe his ships system lag was to blame so tried a 3rd time to target anyone with no avail only this time he noticed the message telling him his targetting computers were being jammed. Damn them !! They had also realised he was there as multiple vessels focused fire on him. Estios saw a corp member in a Rifter go down nearby and cursed himself that he was unable to assist any further. Some other Oracle members took heavy fire and were forced to retreat. It was apparent this confrontation was not to be victorious for Oracle. Despite the focused fire on him his shields held fast as Estios informed his Cheif he was jammed. Retreat was ordered and Estios made the jump to warp speed, but not before watching an Omen shatter into pieces.
Within seconds Estios' shields were recharged and he was again ready but much to his disdain the order was given to abandon our stand and allow our enemy to claim a small victory. As the comm channel flicked into life again news of more Oracle losses came in. In addition to the brave Rifter pilot it became clear a Rupture and Stabber were also lost.
This was a small price to pay in the face of such overwhelming odd's and as the brave Oracle pilots tactictally regrouped ....at the tavern, much rejoicing was made as today was a truely a brave stand and Oracle pride was maintained. Estios agreed the Amarr enemy did indeed fight with honour , but he wondered how many of them will stand and fight when the odds are stacked against them. For be sure the retribution now is going to be swift and merciless.
Estios kicked back with another bottle of spiced wine and big cigar as he sent the message to Jobe Katarn ......'good luck with the new vessel, and tell Tellen Im coming for him !'.

Estios,
A fine and honourable stand indeed. Sadly I fear your memory of the event may be somewhat tarnished from your previous nights festivities. Firstly, I was flying an Omen class vessel, secondly, regarding the "matter of seconds" my craft was dispatched in, although I didnt count, the time from the first fired shots until you (and many other locked Oracle members) finally despatched my craft was ample time for me to ECM at least 2 of your larger vessels thus rendering them about as harmful as Minmatar slave children.
I look forward to meeting you again on the battlefield Estios. Should I be equipped with weapons and not EW equpiment then, it will be a sad day for you.....

It appears you were not a part of Oracle during the 1PG/Oracle wars then. We made it a habbit in those days to count being outnumbered by Oracle six to four as even odds ;) I suppose in this light the attack of one of our cruisers and a frigatte on one of your battleships counts as even odds, too.
We may not be stupid enough to launch an Omen into a station-camping Thorax with eight wasps dispatched (this was not Oracle I may add) but our pilots are more than willing to shed their blood for the defense of the Empire and the scriptures.

Estios, you and your Oracle brothers fought bravely in defence of the gate.
I just wanted to let you know that there were 'dedicated miners' on both sides - me for instance.
Loyalty to the Emperor and the chance to kick Minmatar butt meant that many of our heroic 'mining' pilots volunteered for the crusade into Minmatar space.
Indeed my four light turrets and 6 scout drones performed admirably with at least one Oracle ship exploding before my guns and another fleeing in the nick of time (ofc. I don't think I was the only one shooting them but heh I am sure I got the last shot! )
It surely got my adrenalin flowing and made a nice change from watching Scordite!
By the way - what was the name of the Gallente wench... I have a liking for them too

I weep for the losses thet were sustained by my herioc comrades in Oracle. I only hope that the pilots of the downed ships escaped to carry on the fight against the hated Amarrians.
I know our oppressors will soon feel the fury of righteous retribution however, and that thought sustains me, my brothers and sisters in the Minmatar rebellion.

and to Tharrn , I was part of the tribe but sadly missed confrontations (ooc , Im sure you would stand and fight but a little IC goading never hurts)

I congratulate the brave pilots of Amarr on their resounding victory! I am particularly gratified to hear that those who manage the raw materials side of war production are willing to interrupt their work to visit a crushing defeat upon the enemy!
Total war in the Venal Region and a mishap with a jump gate have made it difficult for me to join you of late, but know that you are not forgotten - the prayers of all are aimed at your success!

I wish to congratulate all the brave Amarr pilots who fought under my command in this battle you all performed like heroes of ancient tales , i will drink a goblet to your honour tonight.
On this night there will be no frenzied beating of drums, no howling at the moon, or feasting upon raw meat in Oracles camp, only the wailing of Minmatar *****s mourning their dead warriors mixing with the cries of the wounded crewmembers.
Sarkos though we are sworn enemies my respect for you have grown, your last charge at the battle of Hek was very heroic i felt sad that i had to order my gunnery crews to open fire on such a brave soldier, but seeing you make it to warpspeed and safety made me glad for now i know i shall fight you again..........

The tales of your exploits warm my cold Ni-Kunni heart. You set a fine example for the rest of our brethren to follow and follow we will. PIE, Imperial Dreams, CH and any other who particpated in the battle have earned the highest respects of both my crew and myself.
We offer also respects to those Minmatar that grew backbones and stood to fight for their cause. Though heathens and infidels their bravery in battle must be recognized and honoured. Not to do so would lower us to the level of our enemies and would be an insult to our warrior tradition.
Respects

Well if it isnt Oracles clown , your poisonous tongue has not been missed. You seem to put much faith in your Tempest class scrapheaps!! ,and in your warchief Hippey skills, lets see if they can cope with more than the frigates you have been killing. As far as i can recall the last two of your Tempest that faced an equal class ship were badly damaged and ran away. Hippey however has never run away from a fight and i hope to get a chunk of his Tempest to adorn my Decurios mess.
