i am curious and could not get a straight answer in the help channels. are we allowed to change or customize our textures in the game? if so how can we do so? as well are we allowed to customize our ship models.. say edit their geometry to make different looking ships? if so how can we do so?
if we're not allowed, then my appologies for posting. i'm asking here, i feel its a safe place to make inquires to know what is right or what is wrong so that i do not strafe off the legitimate path.
thanks.

It's against the EULA to edit the eve files. That also includes ship textures and models, so I'm afraid the answer is:
no.

I read over the EULA after reading this, but I can't seem to find the reference to it.
On the other hand, I don't speak legalese. Could you point me to the relevant text? ------------------------------------------- Never underestimate the power of language. |

hmm he is also true.. cant find it. maybe a rep from ccp can comment? :) would be nice to have an official statement. I honestly would search the forums to see if there was any past posts about this... but lack of a search function sorta has its limitations.

You definitely can't modify the client in any way. I'm sure it's hidden in there somewhere in legalese. But it's definitely been stated that it will get you a quick and permanent ban if you try it.

Well I don't really speak legalese myself, but I'm pretty sure it's this passage:
7.Conduct 2. You may not use your own or third-party software to modify any content appearing within the Game environment or change how the Game is played.
That would be the answer I guess
and to the OP: Eve-search is a wonderful thing

Heh, that would be it, sure enough.
