No Player stations.
Personally I think the biggest thing holding back the game is lack of building player stations. Only then will people rush out to explore and colonize and claim territories.
Along with that the squabbles and wars which come from fighting over something.
It will pave the way for many types of player, diplomats, spy, enterpreneur, bounty hunters, assasins, freedom fighters, the possibilities are endless!
What do you think is stopping EVE from being a great game? |

The NPCs, might be trader of pirates. Then the people who do not care about the RP.
I'm not even thinking about future improvements in the gameplay as we're not even sure they'll be in someday.

Umm, absolutely nothing!
EVE is a great game as it is. It could use additions, and I'm sure we will see those gradually introduced in the future, but even as it stands it is one of the most fun and original online games I've EVER played and will only get better from here!
Have some patience, enjoy the game for what it is and wait for additions to come as the developers have time.

Player stations won't fix everything though, we'll still have the invulnerability of ships due to always warping or stopping at mid warp points.
But I admit player stations will be great. Proper corporation will love them if you can eject players out into space :) or disallow them from docking.

Edited by: Earthan on 26/08/2003 20:30:30 Edited by: Earthan on 26/08/2003 20:29:56 The fact that safe harvesting is more profitable then even little risky mining.
Ores from Jaspet up to Crockite (jaspet ,hemorphite, hedbergite, gneiss ......) should be much more valuable or the other ore much less.So that it would pay off much more even with defense expenses. As it is with defense expenses safe harvesting is much more profitable.
So no sense in exploring, risking. Also no much cooperation needed.
Boring safe mining most profitable
And mining in low sec with corp memebrs, with cooperation, under constant attack form NPC pirates is fun.It really is.Just when you return and count you would be making more money (30%-50% ) in high sec kills all satisfaction.
If players woould see profit in risky mining (risky compared to their ship)they would do it,cooperation would be requiered ,much more players would enjoy mining.
For me its really very imporant issue

He's right tho. The Eve Universe is nothing without conflict.
No conflicts = declining market as fewer people need replacements.
No conflicts = waning interest as killing the same pirate for the 10000th time finally causes something to snap.
No conflicts = That giant hulking corporation you built/joined doing nothing more than mine everyday for no real end purpose (getting bships isn't much of an ending if you don't do anything with them).
No conflicts = No fun.
And unfortunately CCP allowed the 'build up' period, as they called it, to go on for too long. So now people basically have to have a bship if there is to be any conflict. Which only further separates them from the fun.
I mean its like you want corporations to oblige each other like its sex or something. Pffft I would rather **** my enemy.- Rohann
Be careful out there. That other guy waiting in the queue for the gate MIGHT be a baby-munching frock-burner, YOU JUST DON'T KNOW!- Lallante |

I have a dim and distant memory of being flamed to hell and back for saying battleships were being introduced too early.

The biggest hold back to this game are the whiners. If a person who is interested in buying the game gets on to any of the eve web sites all they see is whining about this and whining about that. Does anyone really believe that a person will join the game if all they see is whining about it?
