I did not know we had 3rd party developers in the CSM, I'm sorry I missed that... Anyway, I still want Steve Ronuken on the next CSM, because he is very much a part of the 3rd party developer community. Also, sorry for going off-topic, this will be the last off-topic post from me - promise... FYI, you had a 3rd party dev on the CSM, me. In fact, you still have 3rd party devs on the CSM, including Trebor, Mynnna and Ali Aras. I didn't know there were 3rd party devs on CSM, as Golden Gnu said. I visit everyday EVE Technology Lab. I can't remember Two step, Trebor, Mynnna or Ali Aras post in this forum (ok, I don't visit every single thread). I think that's why people feel CSM lacks of 3rd party devs. Using forum search: Two step (2 pages): https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=search&postedby=Two+step&forumID=263Trebor Daehdoow (1 post): https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=search&postedby=Trebor+Daehdoow&forumID=263Mynnna (3 posts): https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=search&postedby=Mynnna&forumID=263Ali Aras (1 post): https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=search&postedby=Ali+Aras&forumID=263>>All CSM posts (2 pages): https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=search&forumID=263&csmbadge=1Versus: Steve Ronuken (33 pages): https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=search&postedby=Steve+Ronuken&forumID=263That's why I voted Steve for CSM, I do know he cares :) Thanks for poking CSM and CCP, I hope we get something from this (although I don't think so)
Quantity has a quality all its own I guess... :P
Those 2 pages of my posts only count the posts on the new forums. I was also active on the old forums as well. You might also see the posts I made on the EDK killboard forum, where I fixed a couple of major bugs, or check out the presentation I did at the DevTrack at Fanfest 2 years ago.
One of the extremely frustrating things about EVE's 3rd party devs is that you guys don't generally do *any* reaching out to the CSM at all (in my experience). Did any of you get in touch with any of the current CSM members about this request? When you are on the CSM, it isn't easy to visit each and ever subforum all the time, and we rely on players pointing us to major issues. Otherwise, you might get lucky, but you are far more likely to just not be heard. CSM 7 Secretary CSM 6 Alternate Delegate @two_step_eve on Twitter My Blog

Not directly. But Ali did respond to a tweet of mine on the subject Then there's the post I stuck up in the Jita park forum.
I'm far from complaining about the response of the CSM.
I just wanted to get what was in my head out for people to see directly, without any filters between me and them. Steve Ronuken for CSM 9!-á I'm starting early :) Handy tools and an SDE conversion Twitter: @fuzzysteve on Twitter |

Also: Vote for Steve Ronuken for the next CSM, to get this voiced directly to CCP. We really need a 3rd party developer on the CSM! I second that. |

1.Make it so market data can not be collected, so prices can sky rocket 2.Ships and just about everything cost more 3.CCp sells more plex now

If this happens then trading in game would probably collapse given the nature of accuracy would result in market crashes. Given today we all rely on IGB and cache scraping it still adds a buffer that spaces out trades to in a way "luck".
If it were to be released 1hr delay then that would work IMHO as getting the scrapping can give a bit of an edge but also means players just can't second trade as much as an hourly latency ? |

I fully agree that 'perfect' market data, on demand, would be a significant issue. I cover that in the blog post in my request I'd written that, then posted this later.
Short version: Add caching. so the very first person to request an item's price, in a region, gets the up to date value. Everyone else, for the next hour, gets the same data. It would emulate the effect we get with cache scraping now.
The EMDR style firehose of market data would also be good, as players would have no control over what's coming out of it. It's perfect, at the time it's published, but without control, there's no problem. Steve Ronuken for CSM 9!-á I'm starting early :) Handy tools and an SDE conversion Twitter: @fuzzysteve on Twitter |
