I wouldnt be so sure about that... on sisi a gallente mothership+carrier with max skills. Had 2 capital armor reps, 3x gang mods and 3 capital remote armor reps. The carrier had 2 capital remote armor reps. Both of them EASILY tanked 6 dreadnoughts in siege mode + 50 BS indefinitely. He only blew up I guess when the BHs got bored and turned their reps off (I was scanning him and his cap was holding easily) and they easily tanked us for over 40+ minutes. Having effectively 5 capital armor repairers on each ship is way more than a dread can tank in siege mode.
A single carrier by itself no, but you cannot remote rep dreads while in siege mode whereas carriers/motherships/titans can remote rep each other over vast distances and huge ammounts thus changing the comparision entirely.
Hmm... that's pretty sweet :o.

Dreads in fleet battle are VERY useful. As firesoakers, instapoppers, BUT, the fleet has to be setup with the dreads in mind.
Sending in a dread into a battle without the proper support, just means the dread will sit and soak fire.
As for dread battles, in large fleets, they pwn. Totally.

Originally by: Shirei Of course, a few BS nosing them at close range would quickly neutralise any kind of tank..
Would nossing work on them?
i.e. it's not classed as EW?

So a bunch of scorpions remote sensor/tracking boosting wont turn a dread into a one mean killing machine?

Doesn't work on a dread in siege mode.

Nos don't even use the 'Electronis' skill though, so they definitely aren't EW..

I'm not 100% sure, but in some videos from singularity, you can clearly see a Titan being webbed and I've heard from a few people that you can scramble them, so that would indicate it is vulnerable to webbing/scrambling and just invulnerable to EW that affects targetting.
The only sure way would be asking the people who have flown the mothership on TQ I guess.

would be a bug if they can be warp scrmabled or web, it says immune to all, not some and not only targetting ones, it says all forms in the category of ew :P

Edited by: Shirei on 08/01/2006 21:56:21 Maybe he had warp stabs fitted.
Dreads can definitely be scrambled, otherwise not so many of them would have died so far.

Don't scramble/web a Moros with a covert when it has deployed all its drones.
Picture a Benny Hill chase with 25 coppers chasing mr Hill. ;) ___________________________ By your command |

Nosferatus and warp disrupters/webbers still work on dreadnaughts for whoever said otherwise. --------

to scrable dread\carrier you need not only put scrabler on him, but do not get his capasitor fill on 80-95% ( just suck his cap to the point when he can't jump ). Right now dread are so so in fleet battle, if use them in your fleet it is stand or die point, as they are very clumsy, and should be used as tactical tool.

I believe Mongo, flys his Phoenix around in PvP .....
The only thing that sux about dreads ....... is that a single frigate can stop it jumping or hyper jumping .... tbh CCP you must have been smoking ***** to come up with this idea !!!!

There is nothing wrong with that. You can't have it all.

To even think that you must be doing the same .......... but a single interceptor can run rings around a dread until backup arrives ............ but maybe you don't like working for the "big kills" and finding a +2 warp scramble to difficult to achieve ...

i recently purchased a dreadnought MOROS, and i believe they are the only dread i would take solo into pvp, Scrap the capital weapons, as your be lucky to hit unless you fill your low slots with tracking mods. I think the most important thing with this type of dread is your skills, as drones get 50% to hit points and damage per level of dread skill. Also, if you do use capital weapons, make sure your capital weapons skill is high, at the moment i do about 1000 damage per hit with skill lvl 3 on capital weapons. i also fit for shield tanking, with 3 activating hardners, a capital ship shield booster and shield amp (8500 shields per hit) and with a damage control and 6 T2 power diagnostics, i get minimum resistance of 65% to shields and have a total of 55,000 shields. should be enough to allow support time to arrive. (have not used the seige mod yet as it takes even more lvl 5 skills). But as mentioned above i would take a good mix of drones with you, as heavies will struggle against interceptors.
