I just wanted to thank CCP for a great game that has potential beyond the stars. Already the game is great. The uprising update was a huge improvement.
The game has just my type of feeling for a sci fi universe. A lot of inspiration are taken from the Alien movies I assume. The dark soundtrack and look of the game is amazing. I can-Št wait until the other planettypes are added. Yesterday I noticed that one could se through the windows, of some sort of lab-complex in the battlezone, and into the lab. Just tiny details like that does so much for the total feeling and immersion of the universe.
This game is the first step to make New Eden more alive. "The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries." - Winston Churchill |

Here is another CCP Dev alt who keeps trying to spin the negativity in your favor and praise dust. FYI it wont work unless you actually fix the game but I think its too late you lost a good portion of your player base by releasing a horrible game. They are not coming back to this POS. Do you look like your avatar in Real life? Or you are choosing to ignore the huge pink elephant in the room. This game now needs a MIRACLE! Bring JESUS! |

Dude- your campaign of Dust hate is getting to be rather annoying. Instead of tearing up about it, man up and post creative input. Other than that we all know your troll fodder. The truth is the Dust 514 forums are very active with feedback. This is immature and ridiculous.
How to write a game design document- look it up. Oh and if you can do better please download the UT III UDK tools and rock it for us Mr whiner. GET TO WORK NOW GREASE MONKEY.
...this isn't the SWG NGE and it aint Blizzard- get back to New Eden in space. |

The Uprising update is fantastic. New maps, better balance, and a UI that I am proud to play with. All you anti-Dunst crazies are not looking at the game for what it really is, an extension of Eve and its universe. It is slowly gaining momentum, but it is still relatively new (for CCP that is) and was never meant to be CoD or Battlefield.
If you don't like Dust, don't play it, but I highly recommend it for FPS Addicts who are looking for more depth than the present market has to offer. |

Wow, this is getting depressing: somebody starts a new thread, saying, "Dust 514 is better than sliced bread", or the like.
Then, a handful of fanboys provide treacly praise.
The reality: Dust at present is a mediocre shooter with major development problems including balance issues, shooting and driving mechanics problems, banal design and a terrible grind.
Check out www.metacritc.com, which reports on all 31 eve critical reviews so far. Average of 31 reviews: 59/100. Awful for something better than sliced bread, etc.
The major dumbing down of EvE (see the exploration 'updates'), and now Dust (see 'aimbot') looks increasingly like desperation measures to hold onto those fickle 12 year olds playing their FPS on the PS3. What we, the genuine EvE player base, think of all this is completely irrelevant to CCP's long range plans.

Rome, who do you work for? Obviously one of Dust's competitors, as your workload seems to consist soley of trashing Dust.. Really dude, get a life.. It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then, and it's a poor sort of memory that only works backward.

This game is the first step to make New Eden more alive. But as a bitter jaded vet the game absolutely sucks because the core content has yet to be released, as have our actions yet to have been given significance....... |

Most game companies would love to have a loyal large long term subscriber base like CCP has with EVE. A lot of companies would be looking for ways to cross pollinate their existing player base with their new product lines. Apparently that kind of thinking does not thrive in the cold regions of Iceland, CCP does everything possible to minimize the interaction between Dust514 and EVE.
I am at a loss to understand why? Why restrict orbital bombardment to Faction War players? How large a segment of EVE players participate in low sec faction warfare? Why restrict planetary conquest to low sec? I thought corp warfare was how the New Eden universe functioned. Time after time CCP comes up with a brilliant huge idea, then squeezes it down until it fits the kind of game play they want to promote.
Want to bomb some dust mercs? In order to do so join faction warfare. If I wanted by ship shot at by various empires of New Eden I'd already be in FW, I like being able to fly anywhere without gate guns or naval forces shooting me.
Dust514 and EVE could be a great combination if only CCP would listen to their customers, balance the game, implement meaningful interactions between them, and then get the hell out of the way and let the game evolve and get it's legs under it. Undo the matchmaking which has only increased match pub stomps. The Best Ship In EVE Online Is "Friendship", Power To The Players! |
