Hi!
Just out of interest realy, i've never spent much time there so why are there so many people there and what are they doing?
I see posts complaining about the lagg etc, what has to be done in Jita/Rens etc that cant be done next door?
This isnt a flame at all, just wanted to get a bit more game knowledge.

Jita is like Constantinople. It's a convienant hub system, and that means all the people who're selling stuff go there to offload, which means all the people who're buying stuff go there to load up. Plus, it also means the macrominers go there, to easily offload their goods.

Omber Zombie, Winterblink & I were signing autographs there last night. Hast showed up drunk and tried to ask me out again. My security got involved. It wasn't pretty.
EDIT - I heard Loxy stopped mining Veld long enough to film the incident and sell it for a few isk... -

Becuase just as in real life, commerce clusters together.
Oh and there are some agents there, but these agent just helped determin the innitial locations of the hubs, even if jits is stripped of its agents it will still be a major market hub.

Also, it's a chokepoint system. There's no way to bypass it for a lot of people.

Jita hit 625 players and crashed yesterday. I seriously doubt it. ----------------------------------------------------------------[04:04:04] Tom Thumb > for a nut case you rawk

I could have sworn I saw an evemail saying they were moving on the 1st or 2nd.
Oursulaert agents aren't moving until the 8th, but the Jita moves were announced several days before those.

You can buy half-free ore from there. And sell items to newbies charging 20x overprice, making great profit. It's good money and business. I got some orders there going too and I have to visit the place often

Jita helps kill the game..while so many server recourses are dedicated to keep jitas 400 players running..the rest of the systmes suffer for it (such as 0.0 systems who have 100 players travling and suffer incredible lag)part of the reasons i despice empire hugging caerbears..it aint cause i wantr to dictate and spoil how they play..it is cause the way the clammor in one or 2 systenms helps spoil how i play _____

I agree with you 100%, Jita with its 400+ carebears/macroers using up all the server power is ruining the game for everyone that doesnt hang in that one system their whole eve lifes.

Someone said somewhere.. That the most crowded hubs are running on dedicated hardware. I don't know wether this is true for Jita, but it's likely. (I'd do it in such way myself too.) It shouldn't affect the players outside Jita.
There are however so many of those big blobs that most likely some other crowded spots are not running on dedicated hardware.

And I thought Jita/Oursalaert/Rens take each only a single server since a constallation can't be clustered to multiple servers i.e. each star system can have max one server. Whereas many 0.0 and low sec systems are bundled to single server as well. So in the big picture the 4-5 heavily stressed systems don't cause lag in other systems. For example Pucherie holding only about 40 peeps in local suffered massive lag around a week ago, when the neighboring system Vinetyn had none or very little lag.

personaly i think that all alliances should now have mutal wars in future and duke it out in JIta and similar systems, we may actuzaly get a fight..and if not well we wont be the only ones having our game messed up by the overcrowded systems _____

Moving agents away from Jita won't solve a thing. Jita is a travelling hub, which also makes it a trade hub. (And no I don't run agents in Jita or around it).
I (and many others) go to Jita because it's the major trade hub and it happens to also be a kind of travelling chokepoint. Unfortunately you can't separate that. There will always be point where everyone travels through, and such chokepoints will automatically become trade hubs. Same problem to a lesser extent with Oursulaert and Rens, and in the past with Yulai. This type of issue is never going to go away...

QFT. Next door to Jita + Niyabainen, stations are empty, most labs + factories are empty, belts are full (not that i mine ) and on the highway south. I really dont see why everyone sits in Jita all the time when there are systems next door or 2 jumps away that are pretty much deserted

the only special on rens imho were the security agents in moon8 .. especially the lvl3 and lvl4 ones ... where else was it possible to get 8 security agents from the same corp in one station ...
the countermeasure by ccp was to move some of them to other systems ... it helped yesterday on high time there were only 260 user in system ... before the "outsourcing" of the brutor tribe it hit almost every day around 300 user or more ... though yesterday there was one of the "omg ... will the hampsters burn?" day on the eve-cluster

IMO Jita should be removed from AutoPilot.
I run a lot of courier missions and 90% of them take you through that system. Make highways around it so that AutoPilot will pick these up in lieu of going through the system.
That will clear up some of the numbers.

I think they should build some star-lane bypasses on the North-South and East-West travelling lanes from neighbouring systems.
It will reduce journey times and stop the through-traffic. After all, if you want to drive from one side of London to the other, you don't drive through the centre, you take the orbital M25 motorway. Same principle.
